Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Better safe than sorry!

This software filled a major gap in my tech life, that of always having a current backup of my important files somewhere NOT in my house (in case of disaster). The download and setup was super easy, and the first full backup quick to get configured to backup all my files. I also like the emails I get after a successful incremental backup listing which files were backed up.

Super easy setup and effortless…

Super easy setup and effortless execution. I put it on two laptops and it has worked seamlessly on both. One does not get daily use, to IDrive does a "catchup" backup when I turn it on, but I have not noticed any degradation in performance during the backup as I have with other systems. Highly recommended, particularly if you want an "install and ignore" solution.

Very easy to set up. For me it was important that the data is encrypted on the client-side with a key that only I have. Very compatible prices too.

The backup tool worked great

The backup tool worked great. Intuitive interface, easy to use. The price is very reasonable - I don't have a lot of data, but the availability from the cloud with strong encryption security gives me peace of mind. I had to replace my laptop battery, which was the trigger for me to pursue a backup. Given the planned obsolescence of computers these days, everyone should consider a disaster recovery strategy - not just businesses. I highly recommend iDrive!

Simple and works great

IDrive works great and does what it's supposed to do. Setup and configuration is relatively straightforward, although I did have one issue. After setting up on my Windows Desktop, I found that IDrive was using 100% of my disk throughput, even when not doing a backup. I contacted IDrive support and they walked me through reconfiguring Windows Defender, which solved the problem. If this problem is common, I wish the FAQ would have had the information about how to address it. Since then, IDrive has been working flawlessly, doing a backup every day as scheduled, and reporting on what it did.

Peace of mind

I am not very tech savvy but I found this program super easy to use. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing that all my photos and work information are safely stored away from my house incase anything ever happens. I am very happy with this product. The price was right too.

Value for money with good functionality
