Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Low-cost Backup Solution form iDrive

I've been using a service that syncs my devices, which I'm very satisfied with. But that service does not permit restore of data at the folder level, which is necessary if a storage device fails. This is where iDrive works really well. Interface is intuitive, and phone support is available when you need it. iDrive also has a syncing service called iDrive Cloud, but you need to pay for that separately and does not permit online viewing of the data (each file you want to view gets downloaded). I ultimately purchased 5 TB of space to do my backups which is sufficient for my needs for the next several years. If you have important data on a computer, please don't take a chance with it, too easy to lose; iDrive provides a low cost and efficient solution starting at $60 a year that you won't regret.

Great Value for money

User interface is very friendly. I have used it on laptop and phone and found is very easy to use. The amount of space offered is also much better than others. I havent tried downloading the data as yet and that's why kept one star for that.

Does what it says!

Mac desktop GUI is a little clunky (and the web GUI as well) but it does what it says it does, backs up on a schedule, so 5 stars from me!

Saved by IDrive after a bad online backup experience!

I had used another online/local backup service for over 5 years and when I needed 35,000 pictures restored of a corrupt hard drive, that service failed me with lots of excuses. At a significant cost, I was able to recover many of those pictures. After considerable research, I now trust Idrive for my backups. Their dashboard is much more intuitive and easier to use. I did a test restore and you don't have to be a computer programmer to figure it out. If I had been using Idrive, I would not have had the considerable expense of recovering those pictures.

Good pricing, QNAP friendly via dedicated app, flexible upload solutions, first year discounts available

Signed up for the 10TB plan for one year for $75. Finally, I have a backup solution for my QNAP NAS (using the iDrive App) and don't need to worry. I received their once-per-year mail-in backup solution since my Xfinity internet would take 25 days to upload 10TB. Shipping speed was fast. Upload speeds to iDrive are excellent and could handle as much as my connection allowed. Overall this is a great product for peace of mind and good pricing. I would recommend this company for anyone wanting peace of mind with their data.

So far so good

So far so good. I uploaded about 600GB to iDrive backup from my main PC desktop computer and due to my ISP, Spectrum, I experienced a glacial upload speed of 12MB. Not surprisingly, this initial upload to iDrive took over 4 days. I was reluctant to try sending a drive to them to kick things off, so I hung in there and it did work, despite Spectrum. The UI is good and I tried a small test restore which was easy too. I added a smaller backup of my laptop too, no problem. I plan on using iDrive for file storage too at some point. Hope this becomes a long-term solution as the software seems OK and the 5TB space is generous.

Excellent Cloud Backup Solution

I recently switched from a competitor's PC backup product to IDrive and I am very happy with it! I am using IDrive to back up my home file server. IDrive allows me to quickly and easily back up over 1TB of data, and I can rest easy knowing that my data is safely and securely backed up. The user interface is easy to use and offers great flexibility in backing up my system the way I want to do so. I've also started using IDrive to back up my iPhone's camera roll. IDrive is far more cost effective than Apple's cloud storage! I would highly recommend IDrive to anyone looking for cloud storage and backup.
