Useless
Bought some festoon lights for outside, they were installed correctly, however they only lasted 3 weeks.
Home Bargains has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.

I visited the ashington branch. The store was airy and clean . After I selected my goods off I went to the checkout. There were a couple of ladies in front of me and they were greeted with a hello by the checkout lady called jenna. .she was friendly and polite to them and even said thank you. Then it came to my turn what a jekyll and Hyde. I got no greeting I was giving no eye contact I got no please or thank you she was only interested in getting another member of staff on the tills so was talking to her colleague while zapping my products? 2 star service and that's being generous
I visit Home Bargains earlier this afternoon in Albany Road Cardiff, 1 of your staff name Luke ( he maybe a supervisor ) wearing red shirt walked in front of me when me and my son was looking at the shelf to see what drinks to buy, what he could have done is walked behind us and he did not even say 'sorry' or 'excuse me' for doing that, I found that is kind of 'rude' attitude towards customers. You know I work in retail myself so that kind of behaviour is not acceptable.
No school cakes or giant monster munch. Absolutely raging. Not acceptable. This place is terrible.

Having been a regular customer for many years I’ve now decided no more. The reason why? We’ll having to do an online order because every time I go in store you see the same degenerates clearing the shelves so there’s nothing left for the next person, the order came damaged dog food leaked all over the rest of the order. So having taken pictures I sent to the customer service complaints email only to be told there’s nothing they can do via email take it to store for replacement or refund. I responded by saying the order was done online not in store and for some reason my order detail were not sent to my email so have no order number, they completely ignored my email it has been a week with no response!!! Any other company would have instantly rectified this problem but not home bargains!!!!

I've completely stopped shopping there as some of their packed veggie and fruit offers are significantly and consistently below stated weight. As an example their 1kg value apples (from Poland) for £1 are something between 0.880 and 0.910kg for all bags I've bought for at least the last two months (probably seven or eight packs). For other products the differences are not as pronounced but still outside the legal limits (and the packs are never, ever above the printed weight), so probably a case for Tradings Standards. And when I asked about that I was told, bordering on rude, that "this is how we get them from the suppliers and there's nothing we can do". Well, I can do something... never go there again.

Bought a cracklewick candle a boat shape which exploded nearing the end of the jar there was wax still left to burn however… the jar exploded into large chunks and tiny shards The Crewe store manager was fabulous but when I emailed customer services to warn them as apparently others have complained of the same candle doing exactly the same… they did not care What so ever… very rudely pointed out how I should use and candle and never leave unattended and it basically wasn’t their problem I’m 53 used candles all my life it was not unattended myself and my daughter were sitting there Shame on you home bargains for not caring about customers safety !!!!!!!!

Visited Home Bargains (Lightship Lane , Colchester,Essex). Queued at the in store Cafe. The assistant knew I was waiting at the till ready to order. She kept her back to me and carried busying herself cooking bacon for orders etc. She ignored me completely and made no attempt to console me that she would serve me shortly. It wasn't busy in the cafe. I was the only person queueing to order and there was only 2 tables that were occupied in the cafe. I thought she was extremely rude and unprofessional. After 10minutes of waiting,I left the shop and I won't return

I never normally review staff but this guy deserves SHOUT OUT. He is so happy and jolly and makes a huge difference to this store and i think he should be recognised. The other staff (many of them been there a long time) are so miserable, and there is one lady in particular that is normally on the tills. I could literally hear this guy as i shopped around the store and i made a B-Line to his till when i had finished, he interacted with you, i asked if he like d his job and he said that he had come out of retirement as he was bored in the house. He is ex army and never done retail before....Well he certainly fits in our Home bargains.....I really hope this feedback goes to him. He is in the Spytty Store in Newport, S Wales.
