Recently sold a house in Duns through Hastings and I have to say that the whole experience was made completely stress free by Emma and her team. We were updated regularly with the whole process being explained at every stage, the marketing was very professional and everyone in the team was polite and courteous at all times. We would not hesitate to use Hastings Legal services in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone in the area who is thinking of buying or selling. Thank you.

Excellent service

Abby was fantastic! Selling a house can be very stressful, but her professional manner and quick responses to any queries, made the process as pain free as possible. The purchaser had asked for early entry meaning timescales were tight, however Abby facilitated all aspects of the sale, allowing the deadline to be met. I can't thank her enough for her work.

Hastings are a level of professionalism that is inspirational. From Lia in Legal's diligent and friendly approach to Donna's positive and uplifting manner to Ruth's attention to detail and hunger to do the best for Hasting's clients. The entire team are fantastic and made spending money really fun 🤣 Absolutely would recommend

Hastings were exceptional in buying my new home

Well, I have recently experienced the most professional, friendly and efficient buying of my new home. Vicky was just amazing throughout my buying process. Nothing was too much for Vicky to deal with. I was kept informed when needed to as so much was dealt with behind the scene and only needed to be informed of changes or progress when needed. Vicky was extremely patient and delivered what was needed with precision, accuracy and of course a smile. I have used the services from Vicky before and certainly will again. Also, the Property team were also a pleasure work with, Sam went over and above my expectations whilst arranging viewing’s. His friendliness, knowledge of the local market was exceptional. Overall, a Fully commendable service was offered and with ease. I would certainly recommend everyone at Hastings every time for buying and selling my future moves. Thank you so much again to Hastings Team.

make sure you have a crystal ball at hand

Please read this edit which includes a reply to their reply at the bottom. Vicky is acting for the purchase of a house sold by them. This is the reason I chose them. The worst decision I have made. The communication at best has been little to none. To the point where the sellers of the house got in touch with the owner of the business. The purchase was delayed by weeks by assuming things on my end instead of asking me. The best time I had was when she went on holiday and Ricky filled in. I urge you to not take the easy option and go with them if you’re selling/buying. Please look further afield. Hopefully I’ll pick my keys up on the agreed date. Reply to their reply: No we didn’t really complete on the scheduled date. The date we completed on, this was the data given after already delaying by weeks. You were ready for a date; at the beginning of August my email to you was ‘I need at least 4 weeks notice to hand my notice in at work and organise removal to another country’. I had no reply. I chased and chased. More than 2 week had passed before a reply, I found out that you’d told the seller I can move in at the end of August. Obviously I couldn’t. Since buying the house I have found out that my neighbours (the sellers), their barns electric is on my meter. The reason for this is my property was part of their estate and my meter is in their barn. I knew this and had rights to enter to take readings. However I did not know about the shared electric. Should it not have been a question asked by the solicitors before the move? (‘You know his meter in your barn, is it just for his property and not your barn?’) Now the exchange has taken place, Hastings want a ridiculous amount of money to help force the sellers to have their own meter installed. I moved from England and Scotlands property purchase is different. Up here a survey is done by the seller, not the buyer. However, I was never asked about purchasing a survey. A structural one or a more in depth on. When I asked at the beginning, they told me ‘surveys are carried out prior’. I now know differently and I could have purchased something. I was juggling 100 balls and replied on you because I was paying you to answer and research for me.

We recently purchased a property in the…

We recently purchased a property in the Borders. The building was older and rather unusual so the process was not as straightforward as it might have been otherwise. Thanks to the diligence, deep knowledge and persistence of Abby Syme, we were not left exposed to issues that could potentially occur if we were to sell the property in the future. It could have been tempting for both parties to dismiss some details to speed up the purchase but Abby showed patience and professionalism in concluding the purchase in a very complete manner. We are delighted with her services! Thank you so much.

Hastings sold our property in Coldstream

Hastings sold our property in Coldstream and dealt with the legal side and they were 5*. Their service was excellent from start to finish . They secured a sale with in weeks and their negotiating skills were excellent! Their communication was spot on . We highly recommend them and would definitely use them again .
