Halford takes advantage

My break light fault alarm came on my dashboard. It's a difficult time at the moment and it was an extra problem I didn't need. I saw a Halford Shop and knew they did small jobs so went in to ask if they could change the bulb. They said yes and that it would take 15 mins. I came back 15 mins later and they advised me to change all 4 bulbs, two on each sides, as it was best. I took their advice. It took a further 5 mins. It came to £48.98. I thought it was a lot but presumed the bills bulbs were expensive. They offered me a free MOT (I use my trusted garage so declined) or to take my details and give me £5 off which I took. The bill would be emailed to me so I didn't get to see it there and then. When I saw the bill I couldn't believe the costs - the bulbs were £4.99 for two, so inexpensive ... their labour was £11 PER BULB changed!! No wonder they didn't just want to change the one broken bulb, but 3 more! I know I should have asked the costs and checked, but I didn't expect Halfords to completely take advantage. Won't be using them again!

I made a complaint about halfords since…

I made a complaint about halfords since June 20th 2025 and no one has contacted me like they promised...I bought a dashcam online and arranged for it to be installed via Halford in Catford .Unfortunately the dashcam wasn't compatible with the app and I decided I would like to change dashcam.I arranged an appointment to have the dashcam taken out of my car to be returned and planned to discuss an upgrade.A minute before I arrived my appt.i was told that I cannot return dashcam because it was used.At no point was I advised about this and the manager at catford refused to discuss with me.Ive made several phone calls to customer services who assured me that matter would be Investigated and someone will in touch...no one has..I'm still waiting...as far as I'm concerned Halford is the worst company to deal with when you want query or make a complaint. When they have your money they don't care My case no. is Halfords Customer Services: 26479136 ...I've rang sent emails to no avail...this company is rotten to the core. I will be submitting notes everyday until something is sorted..I will not stop

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years…

I bought a Apollo slant about 3 years ago from the edge lane Liverpool Halfords on the ride to work system the person who sold me the bike told me while the bike was being built it’s a bit of a crap bike as it is one of the cheaper models 🤔 they have and was trying to dupe me into buying a seven hundred to a thousand pound bike so he’d get more commission 🤨 on the sale lucky I know sales tactics he also told me I wouldn’t go on any big rides because it was such a rubbish bike 😒 funny that as I ride most weekends the furthest I’ve been from Liverpool upto now on my cheap bike Delamere forest all round Chester and wales not bad for a crap bike 😃 anyway finally the back wheel started grinding as I know a bit of bike maintenance myself it turned out to be the ball bearings in the spindle so called Halfords to see if they have my wheel in stock and was told yes thought great stuff got to the Halfords on edge lane asked about the wheel got told oh no we don’t stock that we do for the expensive bikes but not yours then got told try Quinn’s down the road they sent me to the competitor also by the way they don’t do the wheel I need😞 so had to rely on Amazon to save the day got the wheel I needed fitted it I’m back on the road again 😁 how can a bike shop sell you a bike but not have the parts in stock to fix it ridiculous practice whatever happened to the customer is always right if I what an expensive bike I’ll buy one not get sales bullied into it Halfords you need to send your staff on a training course to learn not to bully customers into buying bike they don’t want or need also learn them to offer advice in a better manner I was very disappointed in the Halfords experience this much 😞🤨🧐😔☹️😟😕😠🤔

Excellent service in Pontefract

Went to the Pontefract store this afternoon with a bike that had been gifted to my daughter. It had been sat in a shed for several years and I needed to make sure it was OK Jordan was brilliant. Despite being obviously busy he took the time to check the bike. Gave me some great advice and helped me pick up a few extras I needed. Excellent customer service from start to finish!

Tyre Fitting at Home Take Two....

Tyre Fitting at Home Take Two.... Following the fiasco of the first attempt to have two tyres fitted, I waited in for 12 hours, no one from Halfords turned up, nor bothered to contact me to let me know they would not be turning up. I stupidly allowed them to book a new appointment, this time with a two hour window, imagine my surprise when once again no one bothered to turn up...... When I contacted Customer Services this time I asked to have the order cancelled and requested that a complaint was put forward on my behalf. A couple of hours later I received a generic email supposedly from Customer Services, with a last paragraph inviting me to respond if I had any further questions/queries, obviously I did having several questions to which I would like an answer. Three days later, with no acknowledgement/reply, I decided to chase the email, I have now received an automated reply stating the email address is no longer in use! My conclusion is that Halfords clearly do not care about Customers, have no Customer care or standards, if anyone from Halfords should read this I would be very interested to know how they feel this is an acceptable way to treat customers. If I could leave no stars I would, and needless to say, based on my experience I will not be rushing to a Halfords store, on-line service or recommending them to anyone!!

Went to Halfords in Bridgwater yesterday with the intention of buying a dashcam and getting it fitted. “Al” had no intention of providing any information on dashcams and said I should look online.

Fabulous service!!!

Sadly my car failed its MOT with a ‘do not drive’ warning for the front pads and discs. However, Ash at Bury St Edmunds and his team did a fantastic job at getting it repaired that same afternoon. Can’t thank you guys enough for your excellent service and your helpfulness.

Yuasa battery 5 year warranty not…

Yuasa battery 5 year warranty not honoured We bought a Yuasa HSB010 battery from Halfords 05/07/2021 with a 5 year warranty - we still have the original purchase receipt, as well as the warranty receipt. On returning the battery to Halfords in Wellingborough on 3rd June 2025, with 13 months warranty still left, they refused to honour the warranty. They tested the battery, agreed it is faulty, gave us a "replace advised" receipt and said they wanted to keep the battery on charge overnight. They called my colleague today (4th June) to say the battery had been on charge all night and that their tester still said "replace" - but we will not be given a replacement battery - what a joke their "warranty" is! Halfords have lost us as a customer.

Scammers

After Halfords Teddington cancelled my booking they forgot to refund my money for 1 MONTH! Only after I contacted them they proceed with the refund. If not contacted they will still keep my money ! Scammers!

Halfords Gosport

Whilst visiting Gosport went to look at car sets for our grandson aged 3. Had 3 in mind and the sales girl explained the differences and having chosen the Joie i-bold demonstrated it and how it would could be fitted, safety and adjustments of straps etc for our car. It was reduced and we were pleased with the whole sales experience even though we had to wait for the correct staff member to talk with us.

OMG Hallfords

OMG. I have just spoke to a customer service representative at Hallfords. I could not understand a word he said. So I have got to go to the store I purchased my items from. This was on the telephone. How many other people have experienced this.
