First Home Improvements is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
We have already had our front bay windows re-done; this decided us to go further with others. We were very happy with your representative who visited, and we were happy enough to agree to go ahead with the further work.
Had a great conversation with the original visit. All options were explored and an acceptable solution was chosen. Shortly afterwards received a call to book the technical survey and then the install. The survey was quick, professional and detailed. The install was amazing. 2 fitters arrived at the time they were supposed to, conducted a quick inspection then cracked on with the install. Install complete and the fitters cleaned up after themselves, demonstrated window operation and ensured I was fully happy. I was so impressed I actually ordered a further install and received the same level of service. I’d highly recommend.
Fantastic service from sales to survey and installation. Couldn't be happier with the results - exactly what we hoped for for our home. Two new doors and three windows perfectly fitted. Elevating the look and feel of our home as part of updating and replacing very old ones.
Very efficient, polite and cleared up very well afterwards. I had a side door replaced on the side of my garage which was some what falling to pieces. Also had a a securing lintel put it.
Excellent.
Horrible experience with sales man I don’t know why I made a appointment with horrible people to come in to my house forcing me to sign the contract on the spot I told them I need to talk to my wife /son to let you know tomorrow but totally scam they want you to sign and take their so called discounts offer normally 3 times more than locally.i even heard salesman talking to someone and making cheap gestures like they forcing you to sign ridiculous price.we been very lucky not to go ahead with this company spend nearly 3 hours trying to sell me windows for about 19 thousand pounds for 4 medium size and one very small size window and one front door standard size nothing special..ridiculous prices please I advise everyone of you stay away from this company at any cost
Just had a new door fitted today by FIRST HOME IMPROVEMENTS, and I must say that it has made a small difference already, but time will tell over a long period. As for the fitters Kieron & Archie made a good job of it, also polite with it. Overall I would recommend this company as we've had other doors in the past from this company. thankyou everybody. Mr Church.
So had a booking today at 1 for a quote - at 2 mins past we received a call, i apologised and confirmed I was turning onto the property road and apologised.
I Arrived at 5 past, again apologised for being late as my meeting ran over. The man; aka primarks answer to rylan clarke just ignored my apology and acted generally unfriendly and disinterested - fine, it’s 4 mins.
The fact you called your boss crying at 1:00 that I wasn’t there is telling - as if he called me at 1.02, you had to be moaning we were late before we were even late.
He asked my name and I told him, we entered the property - which is all back to bare brick at the moment as it’s due to start an extension (usually where people get windows). This is where overweight Rylan, in an attempt to assert dominance (I’m presuming), interrupts me mid sentence and says ‘what’s your name again love’ (25 seconds after the first time I told him) once I again confirmed my name to my friend with short term memory loss, he went on to say ‘right coral, I’m not doing this it’s a hazard’. I was a little stunned - he goes on to say it’s unsafe and there’s trip hazards and wires. Admittedly it’s a shell but my guys acting like there was sparking wires near a puddle of petrol, so dramatic.
Especially given that we had two petite blondes from separate companies come and quote us yesterday with no issues - I have images of the property - it’s empty, with no trip hazards and certainly no loose wires. So, my little princess Rylan got back into his 02 plate focus and drove back to his white pristine council flat where he was safe from work and harms way.
Basically don’t bother - unless you’re willing to accommodate the most strangest human behaviour I’ve ever witnessed feebly make excuses to not do his job - all because he decided that it’s appropriate to come fake tanned up with hair dyed as natural as Katie prices’ like he’s off to the opening of his local Ladbrokes - afraid of some dust.
I’m still in shock 😂😂😂 watching two ladies happily take measurements to an orange man refusing to cross the boundary. Whilst I, a woman is stood there in a cream outfit with cream shoes and somehow haven’t died - because it’s literally just an empty house.
Utterly Hilarious but a massive waste of everyone’s time.
ridiculously long appointment full of hard sell details that is just a massive turn off. Then they quote a huge price then do the "let me talk to my manager" trick and magically the price goes down by 50% as long as I sign right now. Lol
after an hour I had to ask the lady to stop the sales pitch as she wasn't going to get a sale today. She persisted. I eventually got rid of her after about 2 hours. Jeez does this ever work on people!?
Absolutely awful company from start, to still not finished, 4 years later.
As others have said, poor sales tactics. Guy wouldn't leave without a singed agreement in place, so i signed a blank document which i photographed just to get him to leave at 11pm, he arrived at 6pm.
This all started just before lockdown. we liked the product and eventually agreed on a price etc.
We then went into lockdown and i wanted to cancel my order in the June of 2020, I was told i couldn't as they had been manufactured.
They were finally installed in December 2020, manufacturing date was October 2020. so how were they manufactured in June.
Turned out that the plans had been changed on my conservatory, and i wasn't made aware, but i signed off on it without realising. so i now have the conservatory i didn't want.
The work done was too a really poor standard on the conservatory that i had Fensa out to investigate. Who then found problems with every window and door they installed also.
I will admit some of the delay is down to me and a spinal condition i have, but i have since given them plenty of time to come up with an amenable solution.
They have been back in 2024 to rectify but still didn't finish the job. They was supposed to re roof the conservatory as it was completed to a poor standard trapping water between the wooden base and GRP topcoat that will rot it out.
Instead they have just fit a roof on top.
I was told the remedial works would take 2 days to do. The scaffold was up for a month blocking all doors and windows around the conservatory creating a fire hazard.
I couldn't get out into my back garden. I ended up demanding they took it down after another failed visit by their staff.
Loads of other issues along the way too. These are the main ones.
Im being told i am being difficult and not allowing them to finish. When i gave them 2 days last year and another day in late summer, that the guy never attended.
The reality in my eyes is, it should have been done correctly in the first place. I am now saving up to take the company to court.
Works still not finished as of May 2025, no compensation suggested by company, just passing the blame to me.
Had no response from contact made, since Autumn last year.
No doubt this will also be ignored.
EDIT.
In response to your response, I have given you multiple times, that the works could have been done. I have suggested ways to move forward. It is you who are digging your heels in and not agreeing to a resolution.
I am due spinal surgery in August. Whilst i am recovering, the works can be carried in that time, as i will be home. I do not believe it should be for me to take more time off work and lose money to give you access to rectify your poor workmanship.
I have worked with you giving you access within my annual leave for you to not turn up, and even took 2 days annual leave to get this rectified.
I am still happy to resolve this as i have stated in multiple emails, once we have agreed a financial compensation amount. It is you that will not agree to this and states the work has to be finished first.
Putting me in a weaker position.
Potential customers, be very wary of this company.
We had double glazing installed by…F1rst home improvements
We had double glazing installed by F1rst home improvements. the whole process was brilliant from the sales man to the installers.
The quality and build of the windows and doors are first class.
Tony crooks and Sean Rippingale, installed our windows and doors, they were punctual and courteous clean and tidy. Kept us informed how the job was going. I can definitely recommend this company.
