Review summary
First Home Improvements is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
We have already had our front bay windows re-done; this decided us to go further with others. We were very happy with your representative who visited, and we were happy enough to agree to go ahead with the further work.
Had a great conversation with the original visit. All options were explored and an acceptable solution was chosen. Shortly afterwards received a call to book the technical survey and then the install. The survey was quick, professional and detailed. The install was amazing. 2 fitters arrived at the time they were supposed to, conducted a quick inspection then cracked on with the install. Install complete and the fitters cleaned up after themselves, demonstrated window operation and ensured I was fully happy. I was so impressed I actually ordered a further install and received the same level of service. I’d highly recommend.
Fantastic service from sales to survey and installation. Couldn't be happier with the results - exactly what we hoped for for our home. Two new doors and three windows perfectly fitted. Elevating the look and feel of our home as part of updating and replacing very old ones.
I cannot comment on the positive reviews but I can agree with the negative reviews I have just recently read and will add my negative below!!
I’m writing this review on behalf of my parents, who are pensioners, after a recent visit from one of this company’s salesmen. He spent around two hours with them, using all the classic high-pressure sales tactics.
The original quote for 3 windows and a front door was £18,000. Then it dropped to £16,000. Eventually, after calling his “manager” several times to negotiate, the salesman offered a “special discounted price” of £8,000. But this was for a very basic package, and definitely not like for like with what they currently have. The new quote was for windows with fewer openings and a plain PVC door and surround with no glass panels – just the cheap PVC panels.
To get this heavily discounted price, my parents were told they’d need to agree to display a marketing board outside their home, have their installation photographed for the company’s social media, and sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) so they couldn’t discuss the final price with anyone.
The whole experience left my parents feeling very distressed and taken advantage of. It honestly felt like they were being pressured into something. This kind of sales approach is completely unacceptable and preys on vulnerable people, especially the elderly. Be upfront with your pricing. Stop heavily inflating costs just to offer discounts that aren’t really deals. And most importantly, stop using pressure tactics to force people into making quick decisions. Shocking behaviour and you should be ashamed! No one deserves to feel like they’re being tricked in their own home.
Excellent service, from the very start of the process to the end. The installers Robert Crick and Teddy Campbell were fantastic and worked methodically on the install. They cleaned my house thoroughly at the end and even cleaned areas that they hadn’t worked in. Great job and the windows work perfectly.
The fitter Jaz Powar went above and beyond, he was very friendly whilst being very professional and meticulous. We would recommend this company due to him and the sales rep Martin Laver, who was very helpful.
A lovely guy called Jamie Poulton installed our front door..he was on time for the job and worked very hard from start to finish also cleaned up after himself. Would highly recommend this person and company. Very impressed with my new front door 😀
We are so pleased with our new windows and doors. We had David Mayes and Sam Tyrrell, they worked solidly each day. They were clean and tidy. David kept me informed of everything that was happening, checked with me if he had to move anything, change anything. They worked really well together. This was a really big job 15 windows, 2 doors and sliding patio doors. Took a little bit longer but they really put themselves out to get it done without losing great standards.
The quality of the windows doors and hardware are so good. Our place always felt cool even in the summer but we are already feeling the difference.
I so recommend this company as well as David and Sam.
Thank you guys
