EWT system contaminated my water supplybought a water filter system in 2015…

We bought a water filter system in 2015 from EWT. In the last two months we have had problems with our dishwasher water inlet filters becoming blocked with a resin paste. Quite worrying because this is the same water as coming out of our taps to use. I couldn't work out where it was coming from. It turns out this resin paste was in fact resin balls leaking from EWT's water softener system. We had the system annually serviced by EWT so not happy that we have been using water contaminated with these resin balls. I have been asking EWT for a service for a number of weeks and still awaiting a response. I tried to remove the softener system from our water supply to find out that no isolation taps were fitted when it was installed.

Not Recommended – EWT is no longer what it used to be My last review of EWT was positive – I wrote it about 8 years ago when many of my neighbours were installing water softeners from this company. The first few years of use were absolutely fine. We were told that an annual service would keep our lifetime guarantee active. Although the service price increased year after year, it still felt like a good deal. Two years ago, I had my first issue with the filter. A technician came out and repaired it without any problem or charge. Unfortunately, in January of this year, the filter started leaking those small resin beads into the system again. This time, I was told the warranty only covers labour, not parts, so I had to pay for the repair. At the same time, several of my neighbours also began to complain about EWT’s customer service. I learned that the company had changed ownership – and ever since, it seems like they only care about making money rather than honouring their original commitments. It’s a real shame that such a good company with excellent service in the past has gone downhill like this. Never again.

Very disappointing customer service

Very disappointing customer service. I was instructed to contact them via the email address provided, which I did. However, it has been 48 hours, and I’ve received no response whatsoever. This level of service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company.

Matthew....an excellent service engineer.

Matthew, (service engineer) serviced our unit in March 2025. We have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending him. His courteous manner in answering our relevant queries was excellent. A very satisfied customer ....will definitely ask him to service our unit again.

Could do a lot better

I have had my water softener for over 2 years and it has worked well. There was a problem when it was first fitted and something was not tightened properly and there was a leak, fortunately not too much damage though and they did rectify it quite quickly. But ordering salt, its probably worth doing just for the fun conversation you can have on chat!! I ordered 2 x 15kg bags online, only 1 delivered, picture from DPD shows 1 delivered, consignment note says 1 of 1.... so onto online chat where I get to chat to Vincent..... explain issue he says minimumum order 10 bags.... I reply, not according to your website and if so why take payment for 2 bags?..... he replies with, oh ok, maximum courier carry is 1 bag!! Oh come on, your carrier will only carry 1 bag but I have to buy 10, let's have a think about the logic here Vinny.... ok I need your order number, I go to email receipt and copy the number next to ORDER..... Vincent says... That's not an order number.... I reply well it says it is... Vinny says, no thats a DPD tracking number look at the link... I already have it shows 1 bag not 2!!... Vincent says, ok I will either get another 1 delivered or a refund... before I can reply Vincey leaves conversation... EWT you sell good units but outsourcing your admin and comms centre does not work and your website is so clunky and confusing. Your product is worthy of 5 stars your admin/contact centre just 1 star, so I have given you 3, grade C ... could do better.

Very poor service

Very poor service, no customer care at all. Keep away from them. My order haven't deliver over a month, every time you call them,they said next 3 to 5working days, very annoying.

AVOID

AVOID! The engineer who installed our machine did not tighten a bolt which resulted in a leak in our kitchen damaging our kitchen presses. EWT have accepted responsibility but are now ignoring emails and on every call saying they will call back but not following through. Today they have now said the person dealing with our complaint was on a weeks holiday. This has been going on three months. Customer service is non existent

Long term user and would recommend

I have always found this company efficient. I love the app they have and the engineers have always been helpful. My EWT system is easy to use and the salt container is accessible. I would recommend EWT to anyone.

I have been a customer of ewt for 10yrs…

I have been a customer of ewt for 10yrs plus and find that since and during COVID the service is appalling. The EWT app is terrible and the price of servicing ridiculous and no deals on salt which seems to have increased in price across the board. I asked them to reset my time- €95 callout fee, I said please tell how to do it and they said an engineer would do itπŸ˜€. Moral of the story stay away!!

EWT is the worst company when it comes…

EWT is the worst company when it comes to water softener.. it’s been over one month that I have been waiting for appointment to service my water softener and on top of that I don’t under why the serving has to be expensive.. no engineer … the first installation was a nightmare because my washing machine stop working afterwards .. to be honest this company should not be in exsisting is clear they can’t provide the service they are advertising

Booking a service to EWT apps…

Sorry but Booking a service to EWT apps is a hit and miss what ever there service engr availbility is very limit (may be short of staff?). Dont bother ringing,they dont book via phone they only past you to their service team wc take 4 to 5 days before recieving txt/email and if dose't suits you'll be re sheduling over and over again.
