Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.
Me and my partner have had a very good time with this company our solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts has been such a star always available when we have questions and was always quick at completing everything we needed

We bought a house at auction which means you have 56 days to get everything in check. Tom, was really patient, kind and offered guidance even on areas that weren’t his main focus. We had most of our paperwork and documents up together within 2 weeks thanks to Tom for helping us. He called frequently to update and followed up in emails to make sure everything was understood. Anyway, thanks so much for everything!

Oh, where do I even begin? If you're a fan of frustration and endless waiting, then congratulations! You've just stumbled upon the perfect paradise. This place is an absolute haven for those who thrive on the thrill of chasing after solicitors who have seemingly mastered the art of ignoring emails. If you enjoy the exhilarating sensation of your blood pressure rising while you wait Months to get your property paperwork sorted, this is the right firm for you. So if you're looking to waste precious hours of your day reminding them of the work they’re supposed to be doing, by all means, dive right in.

I can’t fault my property lawyer Emily, as a first time buyer she made sure I was aware of what was happening and why throughout the whole process. She always kept in touch and answered any emails promptly. With a few things happening out of our control she made sure to keep me informed of what was happening and did everything she could to get the sale through. As well as this she was incredibly friendly and put me at ease throughout the process. I would highly recommend.

A terrible mismanaged & unorganised company I'm still trying to close on a property and have been for the last 5 months, the seller and the buyer are both using this companies "services" - we've both been lied too, hung up on, asked to cut corners and still everything moves at a snails pace. The app they give you to complete authentication on, is rubbish, they don't review it - they send emails saying you have active tasks you need to close and there's nothing on there, so they say "Ah just email it me instead". They're lazy & incompetent - i've tried for 3 days to get a call back, but my case handler must be so incredibly busy that they can't spare a paying customer 5 minutes out of their day. To anyone with the foresight to do a bit of research into this company, you're a better person than me, now heed my advice and go elsewhere and give another company your hard earned money, because these ones don't deserve it. And don't believe the 5 star reviews - they're a load of rubbish. They just want all the money and take the path of least resistance. Clueless, utterly clueless.

We had to use this firm for the re mortgage of our property.. Communication was prompt and efficient. Paperwork was in places a little confusing. The worst part was the overselling of services that were not required and we had to get our mortgage consultant involved to stop this happening. Would we use this firm if we had our own choice, probably not, buyer beware. I have the emails as evidence of what happened.

Tom Mclaren-Roberts was our property lawyer throughout our house purchase, he was very polite and courteous and responded to our questions and queries extremely quickly, it really put us both at ease. Tom was very informative and knowledgeable and we felt we were in very safe hands with him. He explained each step of the process to us both which made it feel very less daunting, we couldn’t recommend Tom enough as our property lawyer, we’ve had a 5 star experience. Thank you very much!

If you want a company to get in touch with you and work at an average pace, avoid these. I mean how hard does it need to be for people to get hold of you and do their job? Apparently very hard The 1 star reviews they have growing and scattered across the web are too kind to the awful, unprofessional, useless nature of their company. I can only hope the managing director, Mr Jamie Paul Cosson has not seen these and is unaware at how they manage their work. As for the 5 star reviews? I can’t imagine the possibility that these are genuine I’d trust an office of feral monkeys to produce a better output than these. Sitting on work for weeks, need constant chasing just to progress a smidge. There is no pride in their work, seems they are too busy having bake sales or socials than actual work. They definitely don’t produce anything on a Friday that’s for sure. You have a deadline as their work affects your future? I wouldn’t trust these to help with anything. If I could give 0 stars, I would. If anyone reading this has been in direct miserably because of these unprofessional solicitors, id write to Mr Cosson and raise enquiries with the SRA and legal ombudsman. They are dishonest, slow and outrageously unprofessional Avoid avoid avoid

Throughout the process of purchasing our first home we couldn't have asked for more helpful and responsive solicitors, our case manger Tara gave us all the necessary information and kept us up to date with every stage. We managed to close within a couple of months which is amazing! Would definitely recommend.
