Excellent service

Regular, informed and timely updates on progress of both our sale and purchase. Excellent support and accessibility provided by our conveyancing solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts.

Terrible company, shocking communication

Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.

Would use again.

I was referred to this company by Burchell Edwards. Being a first timer buyer I was unsure on the process and all involved. I started my transaction with a Tia Forde who went on maternity leave half way through and was passed then to Vicky Saunders. The transfer between solicitors was seamless,I wouldn’t have noticed the change if they hadn’t told me. Everything was explained to me in simple terms (as a new buyer this was incredibly helpful) and I was contacted regularly, often multiple time’s in one day with updates, instructions and information on what happens next. Due to the sellers circumstances and no reflection on my solicitor the sale took 6/7 months. My solicitor did all they could to speed things along and keep me updated. We had a lot of problems (solar panels, planning permission, lenders approval of all documents, sellers solicitors often not in the office etc etc) and a lot of going back and forth between solicitors / lenders. Again I would like to stress this was issues with the seller and property. My solicitor was very patient with me throughout as I become increasingly impatient and stressed with the process. I was very happy with Tia and even more so with Vicky. I would highly recommend them. I would use them again, but hope to never have to go through this again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!

I used conveyancing direct as Burchell Edwards told me they had a conveyancing company that buyers normally use. As a first time buyer I didn’t want the hassle of finding my own solicitors etc to deal with the sale hence why I thought the simple and straight forward way would be to use them. The company is very slow. I called numerous times for updates in regards to the sale of the house. The sellers were also using the same company and i thought surely the process would be faster and much smoother! However I was totally wrong!!! I have called the office a number of times asking for updates and was kept being told there is a delay from the other party. I asked them to chase this up with the sellers solicitors & it kept falling on deaf ears! The sale was agreed in September! We are now at the end of Feb & yet there is no confirmation of exchange of contract or a date when I will receive the keys! Oh also I was told the keys would be exchanged on the 31st Jan ... & now i have been told there is issues with the top of the chain as the sellers want to extend the lease on the property they have brought. Its just one thing after another. This was told by the estate agent & should have been told to me first by the conveyancing direct! The funds have also been sent to the clients account! Being a large amount I thought I would get a call to confirm the fees have been successfully sent into the account. I was totally wrong. Very laid back service, customers are never at the the forefront of their job! Long story short- AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

House sale and purchase.

Very pleased with the service I received from Christian. Professional, contactable and extremely efficient. Only slight blip at end when the finance team got involved, hence the 4 stars opposed to 5!! Will be using again.

100% Professional, competent and reliable

We used Conveyancing Direct sell two properties and purchase a house, last year, working with both Vicky Neesom and Leah Windeyer. They both were extremely efficient and thorough at answering our queries and chasing the other parties’ solicitors and estate agents. We cannot vouch for anyone else’s performance in this firm, but we felt extremely comfortable and happy with Vicky and Leah handling our cases. We rarely write reviews and even more rarely recommend services to others, but on this occasion we made an exception and have done both.

Absolutely committed firm of property conveyancers

Absolutely committed firm of conveyancers, stuck with it until the very end of what was a very difficult property purchase which had taken over 6 months to complete. Finally, after long delays where the mortgage company's solicitor kept finding other requirements regarding the house we wished to buy, Sarah Keeble, who was our conveyancer, kept at it until we finally reach completion for our new property. I cannot praise Sarah enough for her total commitment over our case and the reassurance that under no circumstances was she going to give up getting us to where we wanted to be.
