Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.
Me and my partner have had a very good time with this company our solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts has been such a star always available when we have questions and was always quick at completing everything we needed

Thanks again for everything! This review goes out for Tom Mclaren-Roberts. From mr and mrs Momoh

Made completion on a new build with help from Kate and her team. The pace of the process was slower than expected maybe because I didn't chase so can't give 5* but I always felt assured it would progress to the next stage due to the organised structure of the plan provided. The professional service all came together in the end with no errors and clear instruction. Many thanks.
We were recommended and then instructed Conveyancing Direct through connells Estate agents and unfortunately we cannot recommend them. Firstly we ended up being charged twice the amount we were originally quoted. Taking CD from one if the best quotes around, to one of the worst. This is all based on their fees. Charge you for using the Internet portal, charge you for confirming your identity, charge you for pretty much every step of the way, on top of what you already paid. We instructed them before Christmas, and our searches were actually submitted via Connells immediately. Which meant our searches came through reasonably quick (Connells were actually really good and helpful throughout). We made both connells and CD aware that the sale needed to go through as fast as possible, which shouldn't have been an issue considering there was absolutely no chain. Just us moving straight into a vacant lot. Still, it wasn't until mid January that we actually received our first email from CD which was the welcome pack. Which was the first time we saw the full fee illustration, after being told it was a good price. By this point we had already lost almost a month but we were still optimistic because the searches were moving pretty fast. From this point until mid February, we heard no movement, and couldn't get hold of our conveyancer at all. Calls to the office would ring through for about 4 solid minutes until someone answered and said our conveyancer wasn't in. When I finally sent a pretty blunt email to the general CD mailbox, we finally got some movement. Jump forward to beginning of march, and throughout the entire process, it feels like CD don't look at your case or try to progress it unless forced to. We have sent 8 emails and not received one reply about other issues, concerns and updates. I can't work out whether the emails don't get through to them, the replies don't get out, or there is just plain no communication. What I can say, is that we have moved successfully. In summary, if you choose Conveyancing Direct, they most probably will take your case through to completion. However, be prepared for it to take 3 x longer than you would usually expect, and be prepared to pay double the price you're quoted, and receive half the communication you expect.
I couldn’t recommend them enough. Tara is absolutely lovely as is the team as a whole. professional and human, by the end it just felt like I was talking to a friend. If I ever get brave enough to move again, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere other than here
What seemed like the most uncomplicated house move turned into a nightmare as we had to deal with various govt. depts.to clear historic death duties and had to obtain extra copy of the POA. We have been SO impressed with our conveyancer Peter Budd Although a nightmare scenario, he was always at the end of the phone. We felt as if we were in a safe pair of hands.Without his guidance we would STILL be number 71 in the govt. queue and the house sale would have fallen through.
I have many issues in the past with solicitors when moving house but this time was totally different. Sarah and her team were extremely helpful and always answered the phone when I needed. They responded to emails within the hour and overall made the ordeal of moving a pleasant experience. If only all the other solicitors in the chain were the same.
Remortgage with Skipton. Trish Hamilton was very helpful. Transaction went through very smoothly so no complaints. Online portal is very keep so you can follow progress through to completion.
Our solicitor Gulcan Thomas has been so friendly, so kind and professional from start. We were kept fully informed at every time and any queries we had were dealt with quickly. When we asked her our questions she answered them as quickly as she can. Gulcan Thomas was most obliging and made what could be a worrying time a lot easier, it was really good to have direct access to her to iron out any snags. We would have no hesitation in recommending the firm and our solicitor to other people. We are so grateful. Many thanks for their help and interest.
What a dreadful set up. Took 5 months to get round to asking enquiries on the contract, were totally unhelpful and virtually impossible to get hold of. We had the misfortune of being above them in a chain of 2 property sales, in the end after constantly chasing them and the Estate agents for the sale, who were pretty useless also, we did a part exchange with our buyers meaning their client lost their purchase. We just couldn’t wait any longer, but did give full warning over a period of weeks that we would do this, and they did absolutely nothing. I would NEVER recommend this firm and why National Estate agents choose to recommend them is beyond me, no doubts the intro fee is the motivator, well it’s not worth it. We are Developers, if I sell something and find they are in the chain I will think long and hard before accepting the offer based on this awful experience.
Fantastic Service, cannot thank Claire Glavin enough for her outstanding work, during what is a stressful time as everyone who moves knows she was always contactable if needed and kept me regularly updated on the progress. She managed to get me to completion in just 10 weeks from my offer being accepted. Honestly cannot praise her highly enough - if I was to move again I would use this team again without hesitation. Thank you for making my life easier - Claire you are a superstar!!!
My husband and I had Samina Ashraf as our convayencer and I'd just like to say how amazing she was! She made the process for us so simple, straight forward and not stressful in the slightest! We are first time buyers and would highly recommend Samina and conveyancing direct. Thank you so much Samina, take care and have a great weekend. Hannah and George Hussey.
