Terrible company, shocking communication

Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.

Trish Hamilton - A credit to the company!

I would not often write a review however I felt compelled to put my fingers on the keyboard to highlight the excellence of Trish Hamilton at Conveyancing Direct Property Lawyers. She was very efficient with her processing, excellent in terms of communication and I would definitely recommend her as a case handler. This was a free legals remortgage through Skipton as a package, however I felt like the dedication of the case handler was better than some solicitors I have dealt with in the past. A credit to the company!!

Terrible service

I used Conveyancing Direct to sell/buy, it was a long and painful experience. Communication was non existent, emails weren't replied to, telephone calls ignored. I would never use this company again and would advise against anyone else doing so.

An excellent and comprehensive service

I cannot fault the service this practice gave me regarding the conveyancing side of the sale of my property. The various stages of the sale were explained comprehensively and literature was provided. Kieran and Sian answered my questions, courteously and very promptly either by phone or email. I would certainly recommend this practice for conveyancing the sale of a property.

Terrible service, left me hanging.

Really, really poor service. Tried to complete from overseas, and checked on numerous occasions to confirm I could do so. At eleventh hour was told I could not. Pretty bad, but mistakes happen. What is unforgivable is the tone of the conveyancer I was dealing with who was rude to a level I’ve never, ever experienced. Really, really poor: plenty of alternatives, use them instead.

Jessica Hayward is fantastic!!

Jessica Hayward is fantastic!! She and her team were so helpful and the whole process of remortgaging was so stress free! Good communication throughout, responded promptly to e-mails. Even when she was away, someone else responded on her behalf and I take that as excellent customer service! I would recommend her to anyone always! Keep up the good work!!

If you are looking for a long drawn out…

If you are looking for a long drawn out house move by an unprofessional company then this is the one for you. My house move was the most stressful process I have encountered. My case worker failed to keep up with communication and when he replied to emails, they were with flippant replies. His work ethics are shoddy but in his defence, the 3 other conveyancers were equally as shoddy. The reason I was given by the estate agent who were continuously chasing was "Covid". When will companies stop blaming Covid for unprofessional service. Even up to the final stages, it ended with completion and exchange on the same day with a comment of "you shouldn't book a removal company until you exchange" so when I asked how do you move on the same day without a removal company, he was unable to answer. I thought that once I moved, that would be the end of this shocking and stressful process, no he then managed to mess up the completion money and when I queried it, his response was one line email saying I was wrong and he was right. I then had to send him emails showing him I was right and he was wrong and this also confirmed what a complete incompetent unprofessional person he was. He then said he would send me the outstanding balance but again I had to chase this after 2wks and his response "I was on leave". I had to give this rating 1 star as it won't allow nothing and I hope that I can at least save others the frustration I suffered. They do say that house moving is the most stressful process after divorce. It shouldn't be and it is a straight forward process. Solicitors/conveyancing companies make this stressful and completely have control over your life without any care whatsoever and there should be an overhaul to make these people accountable and pay penalties for the delays they cause. DO NOT USE.

Exceeded my expectations

I dealt with Kieran Wilson for the sale of my property. My situation was far from straight forward but Kieran was incredibly supportive through this very stressful process. Every single time I called him or emailed him I would get a response within minutes. This I have never experienced before with other legal services. Kieran made me feel I was his one and only client in the way he tailored his service. I have not stopped recommending his service to others. Truly outstanding.

First class service

I cannot thank Tara Lopez and her team enough . She put me at ease and guided me through the process so efficiently. Always available to answer any query and particularly helpful when I had to go in to hospital for emergency surgery towards the end of the process. I would thoroughly recommend her as a highly professional and personable conveyancing solicitor

Poor communicators

Until a month ago I would have said ‘smooth and efficient’. I am at the cusp of exchanging on a property I’m selling in a chain free sale, with a cash buyer and all communication from conveyancing direct has ceased. Literally. I was asked for some paperwork about the management company which was sent across over 2 weeks ago. We were all hoping for exchange by now and completion this week, but despite no less than 6 documented attempts to contact my solicitor (via voicemails, portal notes, and emails) and complaints via the agent who suggested I use them I am being totally ignored. It’s not just unprofessional it’s rude and insulting to not reply to a client asking for an update on their case.
