Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.
Me and my partner have had a very good time with this company our solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts has been such a star always available when we have questions and was always quick at completing everything we needed

We have just completed on the sale of our leasehold flat. It wasn't the most straightforward of processes but we cannot speak highly enough of Sarah Stewart at Conveyancing Direct, who was extremely efficient, patient and positive when things got a bit protracted.
I can’t thanks Catherine Gillett enough ! She was so in the ball I emailed her everyday with questions and she always replied straight away ! She dealt with the sale of my property and purchase on another property , she was recommended to me by Connells estate agents and I was a bit unsure as I’d heard bad reviews but I’d definitely go with them again ! Thanks Catherine you’re a star !
Unresponsive, useless and incompetent. These clowns have slowed don and made multiple sale fall through. They need to be held accountable for their actions as they do not know what they are doing to peoples lives!
We recently completed our purchase with conveyancing direct Ltd, we were not sure what to expect as we were referred by our estate agent. We were allocated Kyle Scarr who provided a very efficient service, took a bit long to complete but he was always kind, polite and answered all my endless questions efficiently. There were charges added to the initial bill we were given but as expected after 6 months things do change. In overall we were happy with the service.
We went with this company as they were recommended by our estate agents. For most part of our sale it was plain sailing but after completion it took 3 days to get our money from the sale - no mortgage to pay or other house to purchase, despite being told it had been sent there were then many excuses for the money not arriving in our bank. Technical issues, accounts department delay etc... Then we chased a completion statement which took another couple of days to arrive only to realise that the 2 indemnity policies that we had agreed to half of had been paid for by us in full and no-one had noticed this. Accounts had paid the buyer all of the amount as the conveyancer in charge of our sale had told them to. She would not admit her mistake but said that they hadn't noticed and they would have to contact the buyer's solicitor to ge the money back before we could have it! Absolutely disgusting service! Their mistake so they should pay us back! NO apology or any admittance of their mistake - very unprofessional and we would not recommend because of this. We are still waiting for our money and find it hard to swallow that they have it and could easily pay us back as it was their mistake. Also watch out for charges they add on as you go along as they don't mention them and just refer to the original letter with charges sent in first correspondence not saying you have been charged any more at the time. If someone reads this from Conveyancing direct please send our money ASAP as we are still waiting over a week after completion! Also get some more qualified and competent staff who are willing to admit mistakes, sort things quickly and not argue with you!
Due to the incompetence and lack of prompt communication of the SDLL our exchange and completion has now fallen through three times (all because of complete miscommunication and incompetence of SDLL) . Last one, when we thought that finally everything has been sorted, it appeared that Kyle Carr, the solicitor of our buyers, forgot that they are using help to buy ISA and did not request for the funds. This was discovered by another handler who stepped in, in Kyle Carr's absence, in order to do the exchange 3 days before the agreed completion date. The exchange did not happen and today the completion did not happen either. This means that we as sellers lost on money, unable to move and are in complete limbo... And the story goes on... If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. Despite our solicitor trying their best to push it through, the solicitors from SDLL are extremely slow to respond and are completely inadequate!!!
Recently completing a house sale , we were really impressed with Julie Fryer. We really wanted to complete before the end of the financial year , so time was of the essence . Julie was very efficient throughout keeping us informed all the way. Look forward to working with her again in any other transactions .
I couldn't have had a nicer firm to work with. They were responsive, knowledgable, kind, understanding and iistened to the needs of the client. I wouldn't hesitate to use Conveyancing again.
Right from the start our experience with Conveyancing Direct has been excellent. Dean McAfee has the patience of a saint despite my numerous questions & demands!!!! Everything was delivered as promised & concluded within a record amount of time. I don't envisage moving again in the foreseeable future but I know which company I would choose.........
Good efficient service received, Sarah Stewart kept us informed through the sale process with a weekly update, we only contacted on one occasion to see what was going on as the cash buyer was delaying things. The fees are not the cheapest but they provided a list of the charge rates for items so it was pretty transparent. A detailed end statement with itemised costs before payments made to enable a full check.
