Terrible company, shocking communication

Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.

Conveyancing Direct deserve a 5A…

Conveyancing Direct deserve a 5A rating! Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid else expect nothing but stress, irritation, desperation and anger! Recommended by our estate agents we should have ignored them and used a local solicitor. I have never come across such an incompetent company. They NEVER return your calls, ignore emails, take ages to answer the ‘phone send through legal documents as editable Word templates littered with errors and omissions, lie to you about processes being completed when they haven’t even started them. Like others we went through various case handlers who were always at lunch, unavailable or on holiday. They lost our signed contracts so we failed to exchange on time so lost our removal slot, we had a chain of 3 people, no mortgages involved anywhere but on the day of completion despite them confirming having the money from our sale at 10.30 am they failed to complete our purchase until 3.45pm causing us to have to pay overtime to our removal company. Now we have had a letter from the tax office to say our stamp duty has not been paid and us still due! No communication from conveyancing direct at all to confirm expenses since receiving the invoice from them on the day of exchange. I cannot believe the good reviews are genuine for this company as all the negative reviews mirror our experience. Do not go there and don’t use anyone associated with your estate agent either. They promised us a stress free experience how wrong they were….

Awful, stressful experience! Really wish I had read the reviews!

Really wish I had read the reviews before accepting the referral from the estate agent selling my property. Misleading, slow, unresponsive and they completely ignore requests so the sale of the property took months. Once exchanged i was informed that vital information had not been filled out correctly on a form from a third party, something they failed to check beforehand. Once my property completed I had no update, no proof of funds had been transferred to me and no statement. If I had not followed up with the estate agent I would not know anything. To this day I still have never received a statement or funds transfer remittance or even the acknowledgment that my property did complete. The main funds took 3 business days to reach me after completion and conveyancing direct withheld further money with no grounds to do so. I took my own legal advice from a separate experienced firm, so after numerous letters and calls to conveyancing direct I finally had all the money released nearly 2 weeks later. These people call themselves property lawyers and have ‘lawyer’ in each team member title…..however this couldn’t be further from the truth as they are completely inexperienced and if I didn’t take my own legal advice would be out of pocket due to the direction Conveyancing Direct tried to incorrectly advise on. Complete lack of understanding of contract and property law. Pay more if you need to but avoid these people. Awful experience.

Slow, unresponsive and unhelpful

Remortgaging took weeks, the person who was my case handler worked alternate three days a week and would always email at around 5pm on her working days, so she was uncontactable for the next day. She then left the company and I wasn’t even told who my new case handler was, when completion was imminent. Overall a pretty awful, costly and stressful experience.

Epic Incompetence

During remortgage with Skipton, this crew of clowns sat on the deeds for several weeks without reading them. When the mortgage offer came through, the then decided there were restrictions in the deed they were not prepared to deal with... So here we are, paying through the nose again while this bunch of ass hats have wasted a fortnight. Thanks, folks... I shall make it my business to divert as much custom from your doors as I can

Conveyancing Direct handled the sale of…my house

Conveyancing Direct handled the sale of my house recently and from beginning to end they couldn't have been more helpful or professional. Daneel Cluer our property lawyer was so helpful and resolved any problems as soon as they appeared I just cannot praise her enough. Conveyancing Direct gets a 10 out of 10 from me, very highly recommended.
