Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.
Me and my partner have had a very good time with this company our solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts has been such a star always available when we have questions and was always quick at completing everything we needed
I just want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for all the support and dedication you've shown me throughout this journey. I truly appreciate the time you've spent answering my calls and guiding me, no matter how many times I reached out. Your patience, professionalism, and steadfast commitment have made a significant impact, and I’m genuinely grateful for everything you've done. Thanks again for everything! This review goes out for Tom Mclaren-Roberts. From mr and mrs Momoh

Beyond incompetent! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They caused unnecessary hold ups, taking over a month to reply to queries that's if you could actually get hold of them. Would not answer emails or calls and quite often the phone would ring out and drop calls when trying. Also will not answer the phone after 5pm despite saying they are open until 7pm. We were recommend to use this awful company by our estate agent, under the guise that it would expedite our purchase and it would all be in house. What a joke that was! Nearly six months later and we are nowhere near completion. Given that we are purchasing a probate property with no chain, we've only just had our searches done. If your agent does recommend them - firstly run, but also read the small print as chances are they are getting a hefty incentive payment for recommendations. They are not legally trained and if you require anything that is "off script", they will duck, dive and deny that it is possible to be done. Likewise all of our legal documents were emailed from them in MS Word and not in PDF format, which meant that they could easily be amended (as by the looks of they have no idea about using tracking changes) - something I've never seen done in all of my professional career. Due to the holdups, and lack of communication we have reported them to the legal ombudsman and to the society of licenced conveyancers. There is no way that a company with this level of incompetence should still be operating. It appears from a number of reviews that several other people have had similar terrible experiences with them. Please do not use them and save yourself the stress, frustration and delays that we had to go through.

There wasn’t any communication. I had to phone and say I was leaving to get a response. An absolutely appalling service. Avoid this company if you can, they are very slow and have not got their processes in place for an efficient service. I don’t know why they are doing ore for Peter Alan ! So frustrating and disappointing service.

Conveyancing Direct's response to my complaint is shocking. Their denial of critical errors is a clear display of incompetence and unprofessionalism. From miscommunications and assumptions to oversights and incorrect advice, my journey was plagued with frustration. Their proposed compensation of £150 is laughably inadequate for the time wasted, stress endured, and their repeated mistakes. Their disregard for accountability and customer concerns is truly disheartening. I'm left with no choice but to escalate this to the Legal Ombudsman. This company's ineptitude and lack of responsibility have left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. Avoid at all costs.

I found Sarah Stewart extremely nice and helpful to deal with. She was professional and approachable at all times. It was a pleasure dealing with Sarah and I couldn't ask for anyone better to deal with the sale of my flat. Per

Although i finally got the house i purchased. But it is not that smooth and not as expected. I have placed a bit higher offer to buying some existing furniture from the seller, I even sent the photos on the furniture I need to the solicitor, and it seems that there is nothing reject on this issue during the process. However, when i got the key, it is totally empty!!!!! I really wondering if they have done their responsibilities on communicating or discussing my needs during the whole process. In fact, it is not surprise, as they ask me twice on some signed document which i have sent to them mths before, and the messy breakdown on the charges, they could even would like to charge me twice on the land registry with 2 different cost in the final breakdown, as a client, we have to do and read everything carefully which suppose a legal expert should be and provide a worry-free services!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Absolutely disgusting service and communication. My partner and I have been waiting 7 months for these clowns to do what they are being payed for, and complete the standard paperwork that they have to deal with as part of their job description. There is also no chain on the property, which has also been empty for months now. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, this company refuses to get into contact with us. The first contact they made in 3 months, after ignoring all our attempts to get in touch with them, was to tell us they are on annual leave. For some reason Clive watkin recommended the use of these blowholes and I am now stuck waiting. If you would like the most stressful and irritating time in your life up to now clarified, then Conveyancing Direct have the services for you.

Moving house can be fraught and stressful. Happy to be able to say that legal service provided by Conveyancing Direct and, in particular, Matthew Dunn was exemplary. Matthew kept us updated throughout the process and responded quickly to any queries we raised.

Was recommended them by our estate agents (Freeman and Foreman), and did not know at this point they are part of the same company. Our property lawyer was either over worked, incompetent or both. They do not communicate and when they do they are vague and unhelpful. I lost count the amount of times we tried to call and could not get through, to then be promised a call back which never happened. We had to email documents several times as our property lawyer could not identify them in the same email chain. For the majority of the time we worked with them it seemed as every time we talked it was if we have never communicated at all. Very poor service all round. Do not use

Our engagement with Conveyancing Direct, recommended by our agents, yielded a disappointing experience. Lack of communication throughout , including delayed email responses of up to a week and unaddressed phone calls. In addition the sudden transition of our solicitor without prior notice led to slowdowns for both parties involved. Be prepared for the process to take three times longer than expected and receive only half the anticipated communication. Our experience underscores the vital role of effective communication and leaves us hesitant to recommend Conveyancing Direct.

Used for selling my house. Buyer wasn't selling, I wasn't buying, just one house involved. Sold the house beginning of April, completed middle of July. I was extremely disappointed in the time it took to complete. Was it conveyancing direct fault or the guys team I really don't know. They kept asking the same question to a point I wanted to put a billboard outside there office with all the answers. The person that dealt with me communicated well and was polite. I wanted a quick sale, everyone told me it would go through quickly because it was only one house. Beginning of June I was told it should only be a couple more weeks because it was at the point of being completed. 6 weeks later. Personally I was disappointed in the whole experience, the estate agent and the lawyers. They just want your money.
