One to avoid as mis sold

I stayed in the Clayton in cardiff with my wife and son and booked 2 executive rooms. I was given rooms 922 and 925 not executive rooms as these were on the 10th floor. So conned. The corridor had a horrible smell the rooms were dirty and dark the bed very small more like a large single and the bed and chairs very worn One room looked at a wall the other had a small window in the corner. The bathroom was clean but in need of replacement very tatty. The bar and restaurant were much better but expensive I booked a drinks package but was told in company this could not be the case as it was only for special occasions quite embarrassing the reception apologised and told me this was wrong and refunded me for it. I am left feeling disappointed and conned. My recommendation is stay somewhere else.

Friendly staff

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable Stay in a Great Location Stayed at Clayton Hotel recently my room was clean, and the bed was ok . Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location near the city centre. Only downside was a bit of a wait at check-in and breakfast.

Rooms very dated

Rooms very dated. Television didn’t work 3 x attempts by staff to get it working. Offered a change of room at 11:45pm 🤦‍♀️ can’t remember when I stayed in a hotel with a shower over the bath and a shower curtain 😂 but staff very friendly and professional. Restaurant staff lovely no complaints. Hotel needs a refurb. But very clean so cleaning staff doing a good job. No complaints with staff but defo needs to be upgraded better hotels in the area. delta, tribe x

Daylight robbery

I booked a room with Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane, and they cancelled it almost immediately after I paid. I never received a refund, despite emailing them for weeks with no response. Eventually, I had to dispute the charge through Revolut and got my money back — only for Clayton Hotels to dispute the refund and take the money back again, even though I never stayed there and they provided no service whatsoever. This is completely unacceptable and feels like theft, plain and simple. Avoid this hotel group at all costs — unresponsive, unprofessional, and clearly have no issue keeping your money without delivering anything in return.

Clayton Leeds hotel-While staying at…

Clayton Leeds hotel-While staying at the hotel there was loud drilling throughout the day until 17:00 in the evening. After staying at the property I have came out in a massive rash due to the hotel having bed bugs. I made a complaint to their manager Danielle and she tried to gaslight me and say that the reaction that I got was not from the hotel. She is very rude and lacks good customer service. I’ve stayed in Clayton hotels in Manchester and they were amazing how this hotel was at a low standard. The hotels also in a dodgy area there are loads of drug addicts, when the taxi man dropped me to the hotel he made me aware that the area is really bad.

If you want hot breakfast, good coffee and great bars service, don't stay here

Clayton Hotel , Lapps Quay, Cork. On a positive note, the room was very nice. Clean , comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. We were on the 6th floor, so it was also very quiet. However, there were two tea bags, two coffee sachets and hardly any sugar. Not a good start to the day. At breakfast. The Bewley's coffee was so weak it did not even taste of coffee, it was vile, when asking a member of staff for any other coffee, they actually agreed and said that they disliked it also so did not drink it. She offered to get us coffee from the Coffee Dock. She was lovely, the coffee however was undrinkable it was so horrible. On to the breakfast itself, the scrambled egg, stone cold, the mushrooms, stone cold, don't know about the beans as there were none in the pot. In fact, all of the 'hot' food was cold. Had to go looking for teaspoons and to fill the empty milk jug on the table - staff looked rushed off their feet, not sure what they were doing though. Restaurant food. Cheap chips that had been kept warm, by the time we got them, yep cold and horrible. The menu was very limited and what we tried was not worth it. Bar staff. Not a clue between them, my husband said to someone it would be quicker to go up to our 6th floor room and order room service. So totally unaware - they need training (I owned a pub for many years, so I know what I am talking about here). The receptionists were very helpful, the one with the red hair managed to get the atrium tv working with sound and channel change so that we could watch the rugby. She was lovely. I felt there is/was a very much 'that will do' attitude and as most Irish people will not complain, well when the receptionist asked me how our stay was, well she asked....... I am fed up with paying not cheap prices for food that is awful, for bad service and for general apathy. Disappointment is around every corner. My expectations are now in tatters , Again! The proximity to the town was excellent, but if you are going for good food, good coffee and quick bar service, you have chosen the wrong hotel

Perfect and quite hotel in centre

I stayed in Bristol. Quiet and spacious hotel, just a few minutes walk from the centre. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom is equipped with everything you need. Ideal hotel for work or tourism. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing, very healthy and with multiple choices to choose what you like.

NO STARS HERE!

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL! Went to the clayton hotel Manchester City centre today for Afternoon with my wife, The service was very underwhelming. My wife's a vegetarian but l'm not, the "food" came but all I had was 2 baby bite size chicken mayo sandwiches. Everything else was cheese. Including all of my wife's "sandwiches." Served to us on slithers of stale bread. I've had tastier food in a Tesco meal deal! After a half hour wait, we had to go to the bar to ask for our Prosecco. After attempting to eat the "sandwiches" we gave up and started on the desserts. Again after waiting for at least 15 minutes, we had to go back to the bar to ask for our tea. Tea arrived with 2 coffee cups & a paper cup of milk, which had some kind of black bits in there! The staff were idle, I'm absolutely shocked at the poor level of service. Such a shame because hotel itself looks very nice. It was a complete waste of money, the "food" wasn't fit for human consumption. No stars here and I definitely won't be returning!

We had a staff festive lunch at the Clayton Silver Springs in Cork. Two years on the trot and they never disappoint. Great food, great service and atmosphere, special mention to Antionette O'Leary and all the staff.

Be aware Clayton Manchester Airport

Be aware! do not use the QR code at the restaurant we sat at table 1303 and stayed in room 209, we got charged twice for a round of drinks costing £20 for a rum and coke and a vodka and Sprite, the first attempt was ordering off my phone it was not going through just spinning so I asked the waiter what to do and he took my phone and cleared the browser and said it will be ok? My wife straight away re ordered on her phone on the QR app and the order went through ok, the next morning it showed that the money had been taken out of my account so I spoke with Maria Sivakova and she told me the orders get erased every night and would be hard to find? She then got a guy over who said it would get sorted? It’s now Saturday 23rd of November and still no refund! Won’t be returning simply as don’t like been ripped off!
