Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. Thank you so much to the staff behind the scenes and placements team too for always being ready to answer queries and help where they can.

I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis
I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

DO NOT GO NEAR THESE PEOPLE, RIP OFF AND REAL AMATEUR TUTORS, IF YOU FALL SERIOUSLY ILL THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU BUT "INSIST THAT YOU KEEP PAYING THEM. YOU CANNOT CONTACT THEM WHERE IT MATTERS, YOU JUST GET PROMISES OF "ILL GET BACK TO YOU. Friendly staff and approachable. I requested a transfer of courses well after my cooling off period and Chrysalis were more than happy to facilitate that for me. The process was quick, seamless and everything happened with ease. I am now enjoying learning the new course I've enrolled on.

I have rated 5 stars based on my last experience when I called the office with queries regarding changes made to the course this past couple of years and to deal with updating my information on their database. Spoke to Sandra Hale and she was absolutely lovely and helpful so this review is based on my experience on how well she dealt with my queries. I first joined Chrysalis in 2010 and unfortunately had to differ my studies at least three times and never had an issue in resuming my studies when requested. However I can’t fully review the course yet due to the fact that I haven’t managed to study longer then (module 4 year 1 ) at 2 diferente locations with three different Tutors due to my differing and resuming. However so far my overall experience has been a positive one and can also add that I don’t no of any other course providers that have a policy this flexible when it comes to students that for personal reasons see themselves forced to stop their studies and have the opportunity to resume it at a later stage with a certain degree of choice location wise and support to do so. What a life changing course! It was hard work but totally worth it and I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants a change in career. Studying once as month really suited me and I got on really well with my tutor who was very knowledgeable. I learnt alot about myself as well as how I can help others which is something that I have always wanted to do. The head office staff helped me with my many queries and were always very polite and helpful. Thank you Chrysalis!

Mostly good in first year but lack of communication at start of 2nd year and all details by email only. Had to go online to get reading lists etc. First year course very comprehensive and gave a good grounding too early to comment on 2nd year.

PLEASE READ! First of all they messed up my starting date but anyway, I started June 2017 I was insured that I would get all the help I needed as I am dyslexic, Sometimes I take a bit longer than others or need a little bit more help. Our first lesson was in June, tutor was great on the day! than Our second lesson wasn’t until September considering how expensive the course adds up to at the end of the year(s) missing three months of Twelve Isn’t acceptable considering we only see our Tutor once a month! And could only call on a certain day at a certain time to ask for help from your tutor which isn’t great for everyone as 9 times out of 10 I was at work. So between the three months I made a decision to Withdraw from the course as they didn’t meet the needs they promised and I needed, which was very upsetting for me. So I only attended the first lesson because I withdrawn in the very early stages of the course I asked if I could be reimbursed as in three months they had already taken around £800 with deposit and monthly direct debit plus other things! I received a letter back saying you are contracted to continue paying chrysalis and your standing order should run until you have paid £2481 However, withdrawals I looked at on an individual basis and in this instance as a good will gesture that it has been agreed that you will cease all future payments. WHAT A SCAM!! if the course ends up not been for you OR they don’t meet the standards they say they will in helping anyone with dyslexia or any other disability! PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL SIGNING ANY CONTACTS WITH CHRYSALIS!

What people need to remember is it is fine taking the courses and they do very much provide much benefit for anybody taking them. The thing to remember is that counselling jobs are not very readily available and there is much competition. You are more likely to be offered plenty of voluntary work! Usually you need to work to accreditation which is an ongoing requirement and also at a cost especially if you only have a part time job. The other option is starting up your own business but again that is at a cost including insurance and your own therapy room. Lots of things to consider. It is not just I take the course and then earn £30 plus hours an hour.

I would not hesitate in recommending Chrysalis as an organisation and for the quality of their courses. I completed my studies with Chrysalis in 2014 and I have since realised my initial goals of working as a volunteer bereavement support worker for Cruse Bereavement Care.

The earlier part of my adult life was built around bringing up 4 children. I worked in preschools, nurseries and community care as the hours were flexible and arranged around family life. After fleeing an abusive relationship, it sparked an interest in looking at behaviours as to why people behave in a way they do and this lead onto wanting to help people on a deeper level. By searching the internet for information I came across Chrysalis courses. It took me 2 years to actually build up the courage and belief that I could achieve a counselling qualification. In 2011 I applied for the Advance Diploma in Psychological counselling and its the best thing I ever did. Its changed my life and I have found my lifes purpose. I have never looked back. Chrysalis made the personal learning journey flexible and accessible so I could fit learning around my life commitments. The tutors I had made the learning experience fun and interactive. The course content was taught in a way that was easily understood. I was academically challenged but I always felt supported and encouraged to achieve. Nearly 6 years on, I am self employed, running a successful part time business. I hire a room at the Centre of Wellbeing in Sawbridgeworth and run 2/3 clinics a week. I have also recently been offered a position with chrysalis as a Student Interviewer in which I am excited to be able to be involve in. I feel incredibly proud of my achievements and feel blessed that I have a rewarding, fulfilling career that I love and that can grow at a speed that suits me. Chrysalis courses gave me the knowledge, skill and confidence to go onto become a competent professional and the qualification to become recognised in the field in which I work. Thank you Chrysalis.
