Chrysalis courses receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate professional and service, though some mention concerns about communication and expensive.
Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. Thank you so much to the staff behind the scenes and placements team too for always being ready to answer queries and help where they can.

I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis
I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

I have found studying with Chrysalis rewarding and yet at times frustrating too. The student support have been good with day to day queries and advice but I would have liked, and would still like, a clear and concise explanation of course levels both with Chrysalis and nationally, how they compare, what you can achieve with them and what top ups are needed for any career path if required. Unbiased info on BACP membership and NCS membership would be appreciated, is membership compulsory? Why can’t I receive full certificates of qualification if my membership isn’t paid up? (hypnotherapy) . The tutors have been good and course content interesting plus a good balance of class/study time though and overall a positive experience. Could just have done without the speculation, gossip and assumptions re memberships/qualification standards but I understand this counselling as a career can be a bit of a minefield.

Generally good but sometimes inconsistent answers to questions eg working with children for placements and guidelines regarding assignment requirements. Also more support in finding placements as many organisations won’t take chrysalis students do to the course not being accredited by the BACP.

My tutor Nick Cullen was amazing he went the extra mile always , he truly was ten out of ten . His depth of knowledge was out of this world I would recommend him to everyone . However I found Chrysalis poor in every area ,poor communication, did not respond to phone calls or emails when they said they would if at all .Always appeared to be behind with paper work . They also lost my notes and moved the goal post telling me different things depending who you spoke to I felt very let down by them .However all that aside they offer very good value for money .

This course has been just what I was looking for. Initially a little apprehensive that feeling when you have signed up to something and have I chosen the right course. I certainly have the tutors have been excellent, with classes held monthly. I have been able to develop and train to become a counsellor, whilst still working. You have to be self motivated and be prepared to set time aside for course work and practice. However the course material and support from Chrysalis is excellent. The qualification is recognised by the BACP and TNCS. If you are serious in wanting to develop as a person or move in to the counselling profession, this course is excellent. Be prepared to be challenged.

I'm in my final year with Chrysalis courses and found the experience to be rewarding personally and professionally. The course takes on board face to face training and peoples life experiences and professions (Police, nurses, teachers, special needs care providers, Therapeutic care givers etc).The lecturers do take the marking of journals / essays and delivery of counselling seriously. This year I am in placement with my client practice hours totalling over 100. The south student support are extremely helpful and the online submission of documents user friendly. I have enrolled on my level 5 course with Chrysalis and will consider to go further still with them. They are an accredited course under the National Counselling Society who's members operate from their code of ethics.

Think carefully. If you already have any experience in counselling or counselling skills argue your way into the 2nd year no matter what they tell you. Unless you actually want to do hypnotherapy the 1st year will teach you nothing you dont already know and is a waste of money. Also question how many additional expenses you are asked for as they are less concerned with yiur quality of learning and more interested in making money. I am hoping by the end I will have actually gained what I need.

I've made some forever friends on this course. I will always look back and think upon my time with Chrysalis as such a happy special time and because of the nature of the subject matter, my course mates and I forged bonds that will last forever. Our tutor was a supportive, approachable professional for whom I have great respect and who cared about each of us treating us as intelligent individuals. The course content and materials were great and provided a clear starting point from which students could expand their knowledge with personal research. At times the course was tough but then, nothing worth having comes easily and I appreciate the way the course challenged and ultimately changed me. I must also thank and express appreciation for the support staff, who were always polite, efficient, patient and helpful to me - especially Becky!. I have gained a Level 5 diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in a little over 3 years of part-time study and would thoroughly recommend this course for anyone who is thinking about starting out as a counsellor but has other commitments such as work and family. Thanks to everyone at Chrysalis, I've got an exciting future ahead of me.
