Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis
I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

I’ve just signed up for the Counselling course with Chrysallis after considerable contemplation. The on-boarding process was extremely professional and I cannot thank the support team, Lynne in particular, for providing exceptional support throughout the process. The combination of first class personal support and an excellent on-line portal make for an excellent learning platform.

I was sceptical at first... Monthly classes, could that really be all I need? And hypnotherapy, do I really want to be a hypnotherapist? Yes to both!!! I am so glad that I went with Chrysalis courses. My tutor is absolutely amazing. Student support really do "support students" and the course is so interesting. I'm never bored or confused. My tutor is always just a message away, I never feel alone or unsure. Being dyslexic I was really worried about going back into education. But I am so glad I did. Monthly classes are certainly enough. We learn everything and discuss everything and leave no stone unturned. Plus we can get help and support whenever we want by emailing our tutors or the student support team. Monthly classes gives us plenty of time to complete homework tasks, and like with any course it gives us a chance to research and learn things on our own. Honestly Hypnotherapy is one of the most interesting and fulfilling things I've ever learned. Seeing results in my volunteers and their improvements just by my attempts at hypnosis. It's a great and empowering feeling. My tutor is wonderfully supportive. I wanted to get straight to psychoanalytics and skip hypnotherapy. But I'm so glad that I learned this skill now. Especially with the lockdown and the raised anxiety in society. I highly recommend Chrysalis courses to anyone wanting to work with mental health.

I am currently studying counselling and psychotherapy levels 4 and 5 and I am currently six months into my course so far I’m really enjoying it... my tutor Fiona is lovely, approachable and I enjoy her style of teaching. I have found the South Student Support Team Lynne and Emily helpful and supportive and appreciate the fact my recent query was dealt with such efficiency at a much needed time during this covid19 period... so thank you 😊

I feel really let down by this course and chrysalis. The module notes are out of date and do not reference any new research. Chrysalis will update the notes retrospectively, but as a student you will need to send several emails to the unresponsive 'concerns team' to ask them to make the updates. The updates will not contain references to current research/methodology /txt books, but will be a little more relevant and up to date with their use of language. For example, my class was concerned about the 'relationship module' in year 2 as it only spoke about 'traditional marriage' and did not reference the other types of relationships now common in society such as same sex, divorce, children growing up under the care of grandparents etc. After several emails to chrysalis and 2 months too late, the notes for the module have been updated somewhat. The Chrysalis student team will not assist you in finding placements for your third year. There are a handful of suggested organisations on their website. Several students I've spoken to across different locations have all been in touch with the student team and asked for help finding a placement, all were left disappointed by chrysalis response of "it's your placement, therefore it's your problem" In year 1 there were 20 people in my tutorial group, I'm now in year 3 and only 6 remain. Some have left due to personal circumstances, but most have left because they feel the course "is not worth the paper it's written on" they will not be prepared or sufficiently qualified once they have completed the course. I am continuing with the course because if you don't drop out after module 1 of year 1 then you have to pay for the full 3 years. If I am paying for the course, I'm going to make the most of it and attend. I will not be sufficiently qualified at the end of this course so I'll look to do top up modules and increase my knowledge through part time courses with the local university. I would not recommend chrysalis to anyone.

Our level 4 teacher was fantastic. Some of the notes need updating. I am concerned with the approach Chrysalis has taken to the current crisis. There is a message to students about continuing payment of fees which does not show any empathic regard for people in financial difficulty who may need reasonable adjustments at the moment. I also think the notice about recording sessions needs rethinking in relation to The Equality Act 2010, reasonable adjustments for disabled students. Peer support is wonderful,

I've just completed my Level 4 Counselling course, and, throughout my studies, the Chrysalis Student Support Team have been tremendously helpful, indeed! They've always been friendly and approachable, very fast to respond, understanding, and supportive. They've been quick to suggest helpful solutions and to sort out any issues that may have arisen, and their calm and professional manner is very impressive. Throughout my career, I've had a lot of experience of many different universities, and I think that Chrysalis, its Tutors, and its Student Support Team, provide an excellent model for education and professional training. very low quality study material, very low quality study environment and rookie tutors with fresh signature on their diploma!!! total waste of money and time. for people whom have the least doubt please ask them for a taster day and a sample of material. dig deep into tutors and beware of testemonials as them are exchanged within institute. BACP dissolved them in 2014 and they made a not for profit one to carry on same activities
