Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. Thank you so much to the staff behind the scenes and placements team too for always being ready to answer queries and help where they can.

I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis
I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

Overall I thought the course was really good and feel after completing the Higher Advanced Diploma course in 2017 that I would be able to eventually gain my accreditation with the BACP. Unfortunately this was not the case I was informed due to Chrysalis changing there previous course I shall have to attend a level 4/5 BACP accredited course to gain my accreditation, Im unhappy and feel if anyone else who trained in 2014-2017 with Chrysalis to be informed that I would have to go back into training to gain BACP accreditation, Im now unsure and unhappy with the course I paid out for those years ago hoping to move forward in my counselling journey.

Read the contract carefully ! I attended 3 sessions of counselling and hypnotherapy course, as chrysalis offered the cheapest options to train as a therapist with the littlest contact time required. After attending 3 days of teaching, I felt that the delivery and content were poor, as well as discouraged with the set up of monthly meetings with a large impersonal group (with the tutor openly stating she wouldn’t remember our names- not ideal when studying human relationships and connection). I gave it 3 lessons (3 months) to give things a chance, as I hoped things would improve and I’d feel more engaged and interested again in a topic which up until this point I had been utterly fascinated in. I decided to leave, assuming I would lose some money as I had started the course etc. After a lengthy process, I was informed to review the contract which I signed. It stated that after 3 lesions, if a participant wants to quit, they must pay the 3 years in full!! As much as I appreciate this is partly my fault as I should have read the contract more thoroughly, when embarking on a course you expect that at the very least the course will be of good quality. The numbers in class dwindled significantly over the 3 lesions I attended, I can only assume I was not the only one displeased. So in a nutshell, I spent over £3000 on 3 poor teaching days. Please consider carefully!

I am just coming towards the end of my journey with Chrysalis having recently finished (and passed!) all of my level 4 coursework. I am now just awaiting delivery of my Advanced Diploma In Psychotherapeutic Counselling and notification of my full accreditation to The National Counselling Society. I have also completed my Level 5 Professional Diploma and simply need to finish my placement hours. Throughout the entire journey Chrysalis have been incredibly supportive, particularly during the difficulties caused by lockdown, allowing us to work with clients from home using online platforms or phone. Yes, there have been times whereby I have had to enquire because something wasn't quite right within the administration, but this was often due to unforeseen technical glitches and was always corrected without fuss. A massive shout out to all at Central Student Support, particularly Becky who I certainly owe a few drinks to! And, of course, my course tutor, Kay Milton - A wonderful teacher who made the journey interesting and fulfilling and without whom I would never have made it through the course. Thanks to all. I have just finished my first year with Chrysalis and I have to say, they are a fantastic organisation. The online material is excellent and the tutor I have had throughout the course was highly skilled and experienced in his field. Although the course was placed under challenges due to lockdown this year, the organisation adapted quickly to online learning and support was always offered by the team. With all my assignments I have received thorough feedback to allow me to progress on my journey to become a therapist. Overall this is a 5 start provider and I would encourage anyone who wants to learn hypnotherapy/counselling to sign up!

After waiting a while to start the online version of the course. Any initial concerns I may have had were soon abated once I started my online course, I I immediately felt at ease with group and the tutor. The break out rooms were great and it enabled me to cover the practical side of the course. The tutor was helpful and supportive. We had regular breaks, which helped in making the online experience less stressful. I am looking forward to the up coming classes.

The course is really informative and gives a great foundation for starting work as a counsellor. The student support team in Birmingham provides outstanding service, the contact Becky is friendly, efficient and deals with any concerns or questions to a really high standard. It is a real positive having the same person answering each student support question as you do not feel like another 'number in the system'. Excellent work Chrysalis

I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my course with Chrysalis so far. When the pandemic started I was worried about the quality of my learning but Chrysalis went the extra mile. Not only did they provide us with additional virtual webinars and course materials to support and motivate our learning, they work around the clock to make sure that no one is left feeling isolated. The access to my tutor, my training materials and even my classmates have been fantastic and I am feeling confident about my academic year. I have really enjoyed my time with Chrysalis so far in my course. I think that it is up to the individual to take away what they want from this course. I have had great tutors who are nice people, professionals in their field, they have helped me understand the coursework and they have been there to support me when I have needed them. The rest of the learning comes from how much work you put in to your studies in-between lessons. It is hard work but it's relative to becoming a good counsellor. I can't fault the support that Chrysalis has given me when I have asked for it.

I gave a rating of 3, as some parts are very good, and others less so. The transition to online, linked to Covid, has been excellent, and a real improvement in the way we can see slides & view lectures from a range of people. The course structure has also been good, and encouraged increasing independence of thought & practice. I got alot out of the hypnotherapy, but would have preferred the option to focus solely on counselling. I have raised concerns about background policy & governance issues & believe these could be strengthened. If the expertise isn't inhouse, then I would recommend an external review. This could bring a fresh perspective and the potential to strengthen the organisation overall. Thanks for the opportunity to feed back & thanks for all your hard work this year.
