Sandra our tutor for year 2 has been so supportive and helpful and brings passion and knowledge in abundance. She shares so much and her feedback is thorough and thoughtful and so helpful. She's been amazing and I'm excited to continue the second half of the year and progress onto year three. Thank you so much to the staff behind the scenes and placements team too for always being ready to answer queries and help where they can.

I have been with chrysalis for 2.5 yrs, my 1st year was enjoyable, with a great tutor, my 2nd year not so much, however, on year 3 1st session in January, my current tutor gave me structure, with slideshows & video clips to explain in more depth and giving examples of the different topics, I have thoroughly enjoyed my first 5 modules as I am a visual learner, the guidance given is great by Sarah Jones and she is a real fit for our group, I am looking forward to the rest of my final year with Chrysalis
I have had a great experience training with Chrysalis. The pluralistic content of the course has been very interesting and I believe has put me in good stead for my future as a counsellor. Most beneficial to my experience though is my tutor, Martina. Martina is incredibly knowledgeable, always puts us at ease, fills us with confidence and gives valuable feedback.

I was nervous when I signed up as I read some negative comments about Chrysalis. However I think overall the course has been good. I think it can depend on your tutor and I was incredibly lucky with my tutor. She’s amazing. Overall I’m pleased and it’s a really cost effective way to train.

Gloria has been an amazing tutor, very helpful and professional. The office have been very responsive throughout covid, I have had a couple of issues and Student support have dealt with this in a professional manner and very fast. Definitely recommend studying with Chrysalis to get your foot in the door with counselling!! Excellent course and excellent for money!!

Throughout the whole course felt supported and during the pandemic 😷 they were always on hand to answer questions and our tutor Liz was amazing. Definitely recommend Chrysalis !!

Course was interesting but I had to withdraw due to personal issues and difficulty in achieving study hours. Course started with 24 students. Ended with about 6 remaining. Chrysalis were unbending with the study hours requirement despite lack of students Obviously we never attended a college so all online. I would have thought Chrysalis would be a bit more forgiving and even though I’ve paid for 2 years there is no refund no matter what your circumstances. They certainly didn’t provide what was signed up for despite schools and colleges re opening on and off. All about the money if you ask me. Find another provider would be my recommendation.

I am now nearly at the end of the first year of Year 1 and am enjoying the course immensely, to the extent that I have now paid for Y2 and Y3. The Moodle system is easy to use, and virtual lecture for each module, the online notes, and the class notes are easy to follow and understand. As we only have one tutorial a month, I feel that the online notes could be more informative. They do have a habit of only just briefly describing an area, and it is not always easy to find backup material relating to the nature of the coursework for the particular month on the internet. I also feel that the list of essential reading and recommended reading books should be more extensive, offering a wide range of explanations and perspectives from a variety of different sources. I am currently enrolled in the course with South Central and my tutor (Linda) is pretty amazing. She has totally managed to change my outlook regarding what hypnosis entails and the various practices she uses during the class really do work. I do feel that, as the course is entitled Chrysalis Counselling and Hypnotherapy that more attention should be paid to the counseling side of things. During a 7-hour tutorial, and as each part is just as important as the other, a 50/50 split would be preferable. Despite a couple of niggles (mentioned above) and looking at the other courses regarding counseling and hypnotherapy, I believe Chrysalis to be one of the best on the market. It does provide you with the necessary background, information and relevant practice to become a professional practitioner at the end of the whole course, and it fits in brilliantly with concurrent working and family life commitments. I agree that some of the work and practice is time-consuming, but as tutorials are only once a month, if managed properly it is easy to fit everything in. I would recommend this course 100% to those individuals who have an interest in this area, or who may be looking to work for themselves in the future. From what I have experienced to date, and knowing the skills that I will be equipped with at the end of the 3-year course, all the hard work will be worth it in the end.

I signed up to do this course whilst going through cancer treatment, but became to ill to do so. When I got better I tried to log in but all my access had been deleted. I sent emails to enquire but received no reply. For a company that provide training for counselling seem to have rather a low level of compassion and understanding.

The interviewer seemed very passionate and inspiring that I felt confident I had picked the right course, especially as it fitted round life and work. Hypnotherapy was great and I am so glad I started with it as it was not what I expected. The course was good, informative and the tutors seemed to know what they were talking about. There was a few issues in terms of the class and how some members commissioned more time then others but it is no reflection on Chrysalis, you will always get a know it all in all walks of life. The topics covered were vast and the homework challenging but rewarding. I would recommend study groups as advised. All round I am pleased as I am now s qualified counselor and hypnotherapist.
