Great communication and well maintained property!
Quiet neighborhood, noisy stream, fire pit, hot tub and fireplace. All important features for us to have a wonderful relaxing time away. Thank you Blue Ridge Rentals!
I really like the outdoors and this cabin I stayed in was almost surrounded by trees. I was hoping to see more wildlife especially a bear but anyway it was still great. I had know idea that snow skiing was such a big thing…Definitely will do again but next time it will be in October… the roads are a little curvy
What a great house and location! Super clean and comfortable. Thank you!
It was a great little cabin with plenty of room and had homey feel.
Great customer service! My daughter left her glasses at the house we rented and they were found and on their way back to her. As always if there are any issues with the house we rent Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals are quick to respond!
Great house. Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals are great to work with.
Amazing location and excellent communication about the property before arriving.
After receiving loads of emails on everything from info on the house to neighborhood rules to how to deal with bears, they neglected to send me the door code to the house! Got the gate code, then got to the house to find that there was no house door code and BONUS the ring doorbell didn't work, so they couldn't unlock it remotely for us. Since there was no cell service at that hour (now 7:45pm) I had to keep going partway back down the mountain to get service. After 2 such trips speaking with BRMR trying to get the door code, we finally got in at 8:20pm. Once we got the door code settled, our stay was as expected. It's a nice, newer house (the backyard isn't finished, with random white pieces of pipe laying around!). The deck was our favorite place, even though the view is of forest, not overlooks. There were ample places to enjoy the outdoors, and we loved the fireplace and the firepit. The house was nice and clean, however, there was only one hand towel in the primary bathroom, and it was dirty! Other bathrooms had hand towels that served as origami features holding various bath items, but no nicely folded, ready to use hand towels. Thankfully, I'd brought a couple sets of our own towels (because you just never know what quality you're going to get and I'm picky!), so we had plenty of towels - but finding the hand towel in the primary bath with an obvious dirty spot on it was not the best. The furnishings were pleasant; however, I'd warn those travelling with older people that the beds are very low to the ground, so harder for some people to get in and out of. Ditto with the chairs - there were no arm chairs in the place, which made it difficult for one of our party to use, as she was having trouble with her knees. We never met the owners, so I can't comment on them. A maintenance guy stopped by the second day to try to fix the doorbell, but didn't have the right key. The door to the hall bathroom didn't close, and the sliding door out to the deck took a great deal of effort to open and close. Looks like some settling may have occurred, which I suppose happens over time. This home is quite literally at the end of the road, and directly across it is a house under construction (not shown in the pictures, of course!). No one was working on it while we were there, and it looks like a long term project. Construction items were littered all over the driveway and spilled over into the turn off to the home we rented. All these things kind of turned what would normally be a pleasant place to stay in into something that I probably wouldn't lease again. We chose the home because the interior was nice and bright, not too much wood inside and that didn't disappoint. We didn't use the firepit on the lower level as it is quite the walk down a steep flight of stairs (that gate from the deck to the ground doesn't close, either!). Of course we didn't use the hot tub, but the home does have one albeit without a very relaxing view given that it looks out over the construction project next door. Overall, this place met our needs for the time we were there. Blue Ridge was prolific in its emails, it just failed to send the most important thing. They did provide very good directions, and our GPS (Waze) directed us right to the house, with no problems. They did text me the house code...at 9:37pm! *Sigh* We stayed here because our 62 acre property nearby is currently on the market. Eagles Nest is a lovely property, with so much to do! I highly recommend the resort, but perhaps a different property. This one literally took 22 minutes from the Elk River Gate to the house. Beautiful drive, breathtaking views on the way, though! We were here for my father's memorial service from Wednesday to Sunday, so didn't have time to take advantage of all that the resort had to offer. I'd definitely return, and will when we come back up...just to a different property!
We had a wonderful stay at Great Grandfather View. I loved spending time outside on the covered porch. It was very peaceful. The master bed slept great! Cell service and internet can be spotty in the mountains but we had no issues. The house was convenient to Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. I would definitely stay here again.
Cabin was clean, spacious and quiet. Location close to running water was awesome! Just a great relaxing weekend for my wife and I.
Everything from the search process to the booking process to the communication went smooth as silk. Great experience.
Terrific floor plan, unparalleled view from that neighborhood. We enjoyed all 3 sitting areas outside. The house was just right for us
Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals and The Brookshire Cabin were AMAZING! We had two tiny issues that were immediately addressed and fixed!! Can’t wait to use them again!!
Very nice rustic two bed cabin, nice layout and luv the cedar… Beds and baths nice, nice fire pit and hot tub….i paid 390 per night, so in my opinion it should have been all of the above…I really think the cost should have not been above 300 per night…Most families with kids probably find 390 too much….
Wonderful customer service and the property was very clean.
Beautiful clean place to relax
Nice setting and saw lots of deer and turkeys
Great Stay! The home we stayed in was beautiful, clean, taken care of and the house was even better than I expected it to be. My only complaint is so very minor, but every time I rent from this company, we arrive to a coffee pot with old coffee in it that has not been cleaned out from the previous renters. Easy problem to solve, just strange that it keeps happening to us. Booking was easy, especially with the discount code I had and all the paperwork was delivered on time and easy to understand.
