Accommodation was excellent .Staff very efficient and helpful Food -Breakfast good selection of food Evening meal could be better Day trips-lovely day in Swanage and Poole no time to spend in Poole would rather slend a full day in Swanage Coach to Tamworth had to changd coach 3 times not sure if this a regular accuracebut its annoying Coming home straight to Tamworth but had to wait for a coach to pull in with 4 passengers on board Felt sorty fof the driver as he was getging grief from passengers waiting to get home But there had been a accident on the motoway so the delay couldn't be helped . Surely there must be a better way for logistics instead of changing at Tamworth and waiting and waiting and waiting

From pickup to drop off home

From pickup to drop off home, everything was taken care of, all I had to do was turn up. The Hotel was lovely, food was good with plenty of choice and all meals were waiter service too. I had a single room which was quite spacious and there was no single supplement😊. The only negative was the shower didn't have a thermostat and was difficult to keep to one temperature but it wouldn't stop me from booking again. This was my first time with Alfa and won't be the last, the service by all staff at the hotel and the drivers was first class.

Pick up

Excellent holiday. Our third holiday with you, another booked end of June. The only issue I have is the pick up point. We pick up at Keele Services, on 2 occasions I have had to phone in as the coach was running late which wasn’t an issue, but was told on both occasions it would be different coach not Alfa. Think it would be better idea if we could be informed by text that we were looking for a different coach.

My first time travelling with Alfa.

My first time travelling with Alfa. I found the drivers, exchange baggage handlers, hotel staff, and my fellow travellers all very friendly and helpful. The online booking procedure was very easy, and the communication pre-holiday from Alfa was excellent. Especially the reassurance around catering to my allergy, which was then handled superbly by the restaurant staff at The Metropole Hotel in Torquay. The drivers, Nigel and then Andy, kept us entertained on the excursions. I particularly enjoyed the trips to Plymouth, Buckfast Abbey, and Babbacombe Theatre to see the ELO Again show. Our other excursions to Totnes and Brixham were nice to. I have to praise Plymouth for it's excellent appreciation towards Coeliacs by clearly advertising gluten free options outside their premises. I'm afraid the same can't be said of Brixham and The Model Village in Babbacombe, which was a little disappointing after a lovely walk around that attraction. Bygones down the road is also a great place to spend a few nostalgic hours. Torquay sea front and marina is lovely, and the gardens are beautifully maintained. Feeder experience takes a while and added a couple of hours to the journey. It also meant the main coach from South Mimms went past my pick up area again on the outward journey. And passed it again on the return journey to the feeder, which then brought me back again. It's my first time with Alfa, and seeing the busy transfer system at the connection point, I can see why this probably has to work this way, so not a big issue. And I was impressed with the efficient way the handlers dealt with the baggage changeover at South Mimms, very smooth. They were all friendly and helpful too with passengers enquiries.

Royal in great location.

Good coach driver, good hotel, great staff and good food. Hotel still requires more refurbishment work on the outside and in gutters and hard to reach places. The location for the drop off in Poole was poor - would rather have been dropped off at the quay side. Couldn't access hotel Wifi in room 311. Coach did not have Wifi or charging points. Bed mattress too soft for me.

The Hydro Hotel was fantastic

The Hydro Hotel was fantastic. The staff were great . They couldn’t do enough to help you . Zorkan the manager was fantastic . I was very pleased to see two choices for the vegetarian option for evening meals and a vegan or gluten free option if requested . It was good to have the option of a vegetarian breakfast including vegetarian sausage , instead of just having a hash brown , tomatoe & beans and the meat eaters having bacon , sausage , black pudding & fried bread plus everything else . I would have scored five out of five but our coach driver Matt just dumped us in places not giving us any information on toilets or main features of an area and he didn’t help people off the coach and the stairs were very steep . To me it is the coach drivers remit and responsibility to help people off incase they fall . All other drivers on every other Alpha trip have been very helpful . The feeder coach & driver was excellent . He couldn’t do enough to help everyone . So he got the tip !

Good and bad.

The coach trip was very comfortable and the hotel was really nice. The trip to Durham was far too long. We had 5 1/2 hours there and there was nothing to do. We visited the cathedral and the museum had a walk round the shops and really we could’ve done it in 2 1/2 hours. The trip to beamish Museum was excellent The third trip around the coast well we didn’t see much coast all we saw was fields with cows and sheep in. The driver decided to stop and it was nearly 3 o’clock for lunch far too late when our dinner would be at 6 o’clock in the hotel. I did enjoy the holiday, but as I said, some of the trips were boring. Our hotel was in Newcastle, but we never got to see Newcastle.

When I get home your car park firm for…

When I get home your car park firm for Eastbourne Queens hotel send me fine for £100 for parking in hotel car park .when I’m a paying guest on self drive holiday. I’m not happy. I was there from 21 may to 25 may.Somebody needs to get there act together.

Excellent Newquay trip

Great smooth change over at Burtonwood, staff there very helpful.Our driver Chris was very knowledgable and very friendly funny & caring. Hotel very clean & food excellent, separate menu card highlighting foods as I have egg allergy. Good entertainment every evening. All staff very friendly & couldn't do enough for us. Trips excellent. Great value for money will travel again with Alfa. No complaints on our recent Newquay trip.
