What a lovely waste of money but this is the banana republic of eire
if i could give a minus i would. the customer service level is beyond atrocious, almost 1 year (aug 24) of their burst water main outside my house causing damage to my property, countless phone calls (always an empty promise) countless emails and letters sent, and still i am waiting and being promised when they answer the phone that someone will come out to asses the damage. the stress this has caused me is horrendous. Another email sent today, i wonder will i even get a response and another empty promise.
Irish water is the worst utility company on the planet. I have been trying to close account for over a year and it is still unresolved. They are useless and all about money. Our government should hang the heads in shame. Frustrating and annoyed
I would give them double the amount of stars if there was an option. From my initial call to a lovely pleasant man to the 2 men who came and sorted my blocked sewage drain, they were simply fantastic. Workmen came within 2.5 hours and despite having to deal with a horrendous mess, they were super professional and a delight to deal with. Cannot thank them enough. Ennis area
Cut my 85 year old mother's water off without any notice or explanation.
After several phone calls I managed to establish that there's a leak within her boundary so they cut her water off.
Irish water staff were "working" 8 foot from her front door and yet no one saw fit to inform her that she had a problem.
They just turned off her water, jumped in their van and left.
No leaflet, no phone call, nothing.
I wonder how they'd feel if someone did that to their elderly mother?
Paid for a waste water and water connection nearly 6months ago
Washed their hands and said they don’t deal with it now it’s with the sub contractor
Have had 4 different people from sub contractors, they change them every few weeks
Still no date or when I will have a connection, not in the country either in a residential area with water outside on the road, and no person to deal with as they all pass the book. Esb and Bord Gais have been and done their connections months ago. Extremely unprofessional and unhelpful company as with any company with no competiton
I am self employed and if I ran my business like this I wouldn’t have one
Local farmer had damaged/ broken supply pipe...witin 2 hrs of issue being raised an engineer had visited/ inspected the damage. Following day a team were on site to repair the damage which ( though large) was repaired efficiently / water supply resumed that night

Clowns. Will turn your water off with zero notice. Get home from work to no water. Wake up to no water. I live rural, shops ages away. Had I known I could of prepared. It's not a 1 off either, happens at least once a year. Also can't seem to fix a leak up the road, literally 6 years they been at this stretch of pipe a mile or so long. It's buried about 2" deep so cars/tractors go in verge and it's leaking again. I'm convinced that they haven't a clue what they're at.
I had an investigation opened yesterday and the engineer contacted me to ask some questions I told him I couldnt talk as I was in work but I'd call back. Tried to call back but the person who answered the phone told me they couldnt put me through, I asked can they ask the engineer to ring me back so I could answer the question he had. The customer service person rang me back saying that the case had been closed, I told him it wasnt possible it was closed as the engineer had some questions in relation to the investigation. He told me yeah its closed get a plumber and hung up on me. Left without water for over a week. Disgrace.
I called Irish Water for approximately 15 minutes. I have zero credit left. Prior to calling I had just topped up by €20. They are supposed to charge a flat rate for calls. Absolute scammers! No help or useful assistance offered.
A public service sold to a private company to make a profit. Hires council staff who were supposed to be laid as per IMF 2010 recommendations.
Absolutely unbelievably bad customer service. I am selling a house and need confirmation that the water is being serviced by Irish water. Anytime I call the agent doesn’t understand me so I assume the customer service is no longer in Ireland. I have emailed details in 3 times including very clear details of what I want with a solicitor letter attached with the same request. Each time I get the same copy and paste response that doesn’t answer anything, so it’s clear emails are not being read.
I live in a rural private residence. Nobody was home, I came back from the shop to find IW staff baging on my door. Banging is a polite way of saying it, she was knocking on windows around the house, kitchen door, shouting etc. Initially I thought we were being attacked by a lunatic. When I approached her, turns out all she needed was previous tenants details, who died 8 years ago. Very strange and inadequate behaviour. They are worse than people say on the radio. She was lucky my 9 months old son wasn't asleep.
