What a lovely waste of money but this is the banana republic of eire
if i could give a minus i would. the customer service level is beyond atrocious, almost 1 year (aug 24) of their burst water main outside my house causing damage to my property, countless phone calls (always an empty promise) countless emails and letters sent, and still i am waiting and being promised when they answer the phone that someone will come out to asses the damage. the stress this has caused me is horrendous. Another email sent today, i wonder will i even get a response and another empty promise.
Irish water is the worst utility company on the planet. I have been trying to close account for over a year and it is still unresolved. They are useless and all about money. Our government should hang the heads in shame. Frustrating and annoyed
I would give them double the amount of stars if there was an option. From my initial call to a lovely pleasant man to the 2 men who came and sorted my blocked sewage drain, they were simply fantastic. Workmen came within 2.5 hours and despite having to deal with a horrendous mess, they were super professional and a delight to deal with. Cannot thank them enough. Ennis area
I had a bad leak which was swamping my back garden I contacted Irish Water they arrived the next morning they explained everything they were going to do and what the problem was they got it sorted in one day they were extremely professional and the crew were a credit to the company in the Newcastle West area and most importantly the back garden was left in a very good way thank you James and the rest of the crew
I have been waiting over 3 weeks for irish water to come and free my drains, the smell from the drains is revolting. I have 3 different references numbers, been told its been updated all the time. I have emailed, and rang them on serval occasions. In the end the drains were so backed up that I couldn't you the toilet, shower or do washing. I had to get a private company out to free the drains from the public drain. So be prepared to be ignored and handed over to next person. Some actual joke this company.
In total it has taken 48 weeks to get approval to connect to a sewer which is right outside the property.
There are NEVER give any updates in the process and when they finally give you a date , the local contractors don't show up...nor do they get in touch to let you know!!
Irish Water are the biggest bureaucratic joke in Ireland.
Honestly...get a sceptic tank or build in a different country. The government want to encourage renovation of old properties yet have not considered the totally useless dept which is Irish Water!
10 Billion euro invested and water from tap is still Brown on occasion. Turbidity is crap, ph all over the shop and chlorine you can smell when having a shower? Omg is there any qualified staff employed uisce eireann or are they all complete baffoons of a dunkeys left overs? It's beyond comprehension that such muppetts can be employed to deliver nothing on the 6 figure salaries, country has really gone to the dogs!
U I sent an email to a TD with a story about me that was completely untrue and intended to discredit me. The TD,s office forwarded the email to me and I rang the number on it. I got through to the person who signed it Geraldine Torreon who said she did not have to talk to me. When pressed she claimed she did not know where the story came from even though she had put it in quotation marks and called it the latest update. She refused to put me through to a manager. Three times I rang that number and was refused to be put through to a manager. I sent an email to their complaints dept and got no reply. In response to an FOI request I got a response from the FOI officer that under the legislation they are "not obliged to provide information only records". I in fact requested the records that initiated the story about me that they claimed was an "update".
Uisce Eireann / Irish Water have been providing unsafe and dirty water to the residents of Cork city since 2022. They have failed to resolve the issue. Their communications always try and diminish the issue. Their customer service representatives also try and dismiss issues and are generally unhelpful.
No interaction with Uisce Eireann / Irish Water has been positive to date.
Incompetence personified. I have spent hours on the phone trying to resolve an issue. Person on phone seems to agree a resolution, then out comes a threat of disconnection by post despite payment having been made as agreed. They then demanded proof of payment despite the amount showing up on their statement.
CROOKS!!! We paid Irish water €2,300 6 months ago to do our new build water connect.
Irish water said they supplied the area and we paid in full.
We booked Irish water in for the job 4 weeks before our builder needed the connect.
Irish water arrived on site and informed me they didn’t supply the area. The told me to get my payment refunded and get another company to do the work.
In a panic I had to outsource the work as my builder needed the connect. Farce of a company.
Not only did they put us in an extremely stressful and unfair position they have not given us our refund back.
I have communicated multiple times and keep getting the same response “we will send your query to the correct department now” then silence.
Irish water did the same thing to one of my new neighbours last year. They too are still waiting on payment.
When will I receive my refund???

Shocking behaviour from our national water provider.
Complete lack of service regarding new connections. Paid over 6000 euros over 12 months ago, still waiting. They have it contracted to Coffey Engineering who give different excuses for the delay. Unbelievable service. In the meantime we are forced to continue to pay high rent while we wait on a water connection. No manager in IW will take the call. Coffey Eng have no contact phone number just one email excuse after another. Cannot issue complaint to CRU as IW will not issue a complaint number. ESB completely different excellent service. How come? No one will take responsibility for IW as being passed off on every phone call. Absolute disgrace.
