Flies on the buffet food

Our stay was at Holme Lacey House near Hereford. One of the Warner Leisure hotels. We visited the market garden restaurant for breakfast and Dinner when we noticed that the buffet food on the centre stall underneath the skylight window was crawling with green-bottle flies, they were also crawling on the mirror behind our table. For this reason we avoided selecting food from this area so our choice of buffet was limited to hot food only. I believe this was wholly unacceptable and constituted a safety hazard that could have resulted in an illness. We have visited other Warner hotels so much so that we are platinum guests and have never experienced this before.

A
Perfect Stay

I have stayed at 13 of the Warner Sites. Most recently was my 6th stay at Heythrop Park, my favourite of them all. The sheer expanse of the place is breathtaking. With a choice of 3 superb restaurants to dine in and 2 entertainment venues to enjoy visiting acts or the in-house entertainment team, it is the perfect place for a break.

Deteriorating Warner service

Warner have brought in a policy of not servicing rooms the day after arrival. This is appalling. We pay a lot of money to stay at Warner, we should not have to do our own housekeeping. We are disgusted about this new policy.

This was the first stay at The…

This was the first stay at The Runneymede on Thames, we have stayed at many Warner's before. We were welcomed at the reception and given our keys. There is only one small lift which is suppose to hold 6 but when you get wheelchairs in there is not much room even for the carer. Food was not as good as he has been other times and the activities which are now charged for was not good either. Prices had gone up with drinks etc but there was now a service charge on drinks brought to your table. The entertainment was very good and the room was clean and tided each day. We have decided that this would be our last Warner's holiday as we cannot see things getting any betteer

Warners changes

We had started to book every 6 months a Warners trip away taking my elderly parents. Unfortunately this will be our last now. We find your no service of room unacceptable. As we're on a 3 day / 2 night stay. You will not get any service in your room. It's every other day. I've just tried to get a fresh glass or mug for my room. Sorry it's a no it's our new policy. The food is now more buffet help yourself which is not good for my elderly parents to get food and carry. The choice of main meals to your table is 2 or an additional charge for 3 option. Roast again tonight luckily theirs Italian. Glad only got 2 Nights. We use to love the food. We come away to feel special and looked after. That's now changed sorry Warners we stopped last time when started a room charge and food charge. This will be our last Warners now. Shame but lots of lovely places to go to and be fully looked after.

Disappointingly shabby

We have stayed at warners previously and always really enjoyed it however our latest trip to gunton hall was disappointing. Obviously in a former life had been a butlins or similar, the accommodation optimistically called a chalet was in fact a poky little room where you could hear every word being said either side of you and were awoken every time your neighbour flushed his toilet. The main activities were held in the Hall which I’m sorry to say could have been mistaken for an old fashioned care home . Sorry warners this one needs to be demolished and rebuilt . Having booked a four night stay We checked out the next morning disappointed .

WARNER HOTELS - extra charges! BE AWARE

OMG ! If you have booked to go to Warners, think again. They are now charging you to do some activities. WHAT A RIP OFF! Having emailed Warners to complain about this, they have told us that guests "like to pay the extra"" and have"received great feedback" regarding this. WHO ARE THEY TRYING TO KID ! You go to Warners because everything is included - or so you think :( This will be our last visit, its far too expensive to go there now. So, if you are going to Warners for a short break be prepared to be paying a significant amount on top of the accommodation price. Expensive drinks, and now you have to pay for some activities such as archery and rifle shooting. READ THE SMALL PRINT and be prepared for a hefty bill on top! PURE GREED FROM WARNERS - EXPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS TO GO ELSEWHERE - WE WILL BE.

System error and missed opportunity during job application

I applied for a role at Gunton Hall via Warner Hotels’ website and experienced a system error as I submitted. Knowing my application hadn’t gone through, I contacted the company immediately to ask if I could send it another way. I spoke with someone who took my details and promised to pass them on. Several days later, I received a voicemail explaining that no application had come through and I’d need to reapply—but by then, the role was no longer advertised, which I had been trying to avoid through prompt action. I followed up again and am still waiting for a call back, though the message I sent — including the system glitch and request to submit my application another way — clearly wasn’t passed on. I believe initiative and responsiveness are essential qualities in any receptionist role—and I demonstrated both by identifying the issue, finding a solution, and following through. Sadly, that effort wasn’t matched on their end.

Holme Lacy in Herefordshire Superb

I had a wonderful week in the Warner's Holme Lacy House, Hereford thanks mainly to the wonderful Team. Greeted by John the Porter. Perfectly fitted to the role of meet, greet and assist. What a gentleman. Gary on reception in the Hall was so helpful and kind, such a charming young man. Jo who is in charge of Housekeeping ensures everything runs smoothly and goes out of her way to assist everyone. She works side by side with her colleagues to ensure smooth running. These people showed so much kindness to me as a single traveller. There were two very special evenings of listening to Keith Slater an exceptionally talented entertainer. So thank you for letting me call your beautiful house my home for a week.

Warner going downhill

Some previously free activities now carry an extra charge, snooker table in poor condition i.e balls fall through pockets onto floor and balls roll from one end back to the middle of the table. Outdoor bowling green seems to be tarmac? Facilites are looking somewhat run down and uncared for. Why isn't a dining table allocated for the time you are there rather than queue each time to get a table. Restaurant low on staff so long waiting times happen between courses. Cold plates for hot food...really! No daytime entertainment on Friday, Warner seem big on promise but not so good in action. Don't want the usual meaningless reply here from Warner to say they're sorry our stay was disappointing for us, we wll not be returning for another poor value holiday with them.

I have just had a card from Warners…

I have just had a card from Warners saying it has been a while since going. With prices going up to book then having to pay for outside sports. They now want to give you 15% off, is that a sign of going down in services? I will be more careful before booking and standers down.

Disappointed

I personally didn't stay but I'm very disappointed for my sister. This holiday was for a special anniversary My sister and brother in law stay with Warner leisure regularly and you still fail to meet my sister's dietary needs. You at Warner holidays need to understand there are lots of people who are on a gluten and dairy free diet. For the amount of money paid for a holiday at your establishments this is disgusting.

We stayed at Sinah Warren Hotel 23-30 June 2025

We stayed at Sinah Warren Hotel. ROOM: We stayed in a royale (top grade) room. Room 401, 'The Kench'. There was a sofa but no coffee table so was not possible to sit on sofa and have drinks. When we arrived there were no towelling robes or drinking glasses. We've never stayed in a Warner Hotel before where there were no drinking glasses in room. Phoned reception who contacted housekeeping. A lady arrived with robes who said that housekeeping don't deal with drinking glasses. Phoned reception again who said we'd have to ask at bar for drinking glasses. This meant we'd have to carry glasses up to room. So we used the mugs provided for both hot and cold drinks. Fresh towels were provided but there was a used towel hanging on back of bathroom door, and an empty pocket tissues wrapper down back of hospitality unit. PARKING: Royale rooms have reserved parking. The other Royale parking spaces had a room name plaque on a post but for our parking space there was just a post without a name plaque, although the room number was painted on the ground. There was another car parked in our space. Reception said they would put a notice on the car concerned. Next day car still there and no notice. Reception showed my husband screwed up notice that they found beside the car! Said they'd put another notice on. To cut a long story short, we arrived on Monday and it was Friday morning before we could park in our reserved space. It is pointless the hotel advertising reserved parking if they are unable to ensure this. The reserved parking spaces are close to the rooms whereas we had to park in a general car park a long walk from rooms. RESTAURANT: my husband said that the roast potatoes were leathery every night and knives were blunt. ENTERTAINMENT: this was good except one night there was a guest singer with a poor voice. The house singers were much better. GENERAL: This is a large hotel with long walks from bedrooms to restaurant, lounges and theatre. We stayed 23-30 June 2025

promise much deliver little

Promise much and deliver little. Where do I start I know a positive. We stayed at Heythrop Park the Mansion room we had was lovely with beautiful views. There it ends. On arrival we queued for over 30mins on the driveway to check in. We tried to enter our room after 2pm and the key did not work had to go to reception and join a queue again waited over 30 mins to be greeted with disbelief eventually given another room key On entering room was lovely light and clean. Only one robe available no tissues fridge had one can of still and sparkling water and some milk. According to the website and on line it should have had fruit juice and nibbles. I queered this and was told they did not do this any more. I showed the receptionist the website stating they did this for mansion rooms but was told no. Next day the water was not replaced and the fridge did not seem very cool. I again asked to be be told that only one can of water was given each stay had to buy it if we wanted it. Again I showed website stating it would be available told don't do that now. We were told our concerns would be forwarded and we would be telephone. Spoke to a manager who repeated what we had been told and would look into website. We were even told even though we were staying in a mansion room had payed a superior upgrade we were not in a superior room !! The fridge in the room was not cool at all and our milk became yogurt on our second day asked for another came with out of date next day and yes it was yogurt! Television did not show all free to view channels. . Alexa was a bit of a joke kept saying we did not have the authority to use Milk frother worked but what's the point if you only have off milk. Next restaurants well its a very long story. The Market kitchen and Travelling Duke were both a joke at breakfast. Neither could cope not enough staff and those they did have did not seen to have any leadership no direction. We were surrounded by tables with dirty crockery and leftover food. Service was very very slow. Coffe served in a communal jug was cold not allowed sugar on tase had to be given by server. Food when you got it in TD was not to bad but market kitchen was truly awful. In fact the breakfast buffet in MK was appalling food piled high and cold Hash browns so crisp no potato and harder than a crisp. The eggs oh my goodness the fried eggs were cold and lying in congealed egg yolk and the chef was looking at them they had not changed at all when we left. Evening meals in TD on the whole were not to bad but service was still very slow. We turned uo one evening 1 min early and were turned away and one breakfast time they were in such a mess we were told they could not cope and go to Brasserie 32. After breakfast in the MK we refused to go there again and changed our bookings! Brasserie 32 was better much more relaxed food was better and more servers although there were still issues it was the best of the bunch.LI Golf course this did not resemble a championship course. Some of the greens were not well kept with bare patches and holes around the edge. Directions were not good we met others in buggies lost. Long distances between holes would be challenging on food for older guests especially in the heat we were experiencing. The golf chop was very poor very small drinks only available from a dispenser, Golf charges had increased £20 since we booked luckily we had payed then so did not affect us. Others were very cross. Activities very poor not much entertainment during the day. Warner theatre company consisted on 4 people on our first day and 3 thereafter. They were very good but just did cover songs and appeared tired by the end. Rock groups that appeared and another girl group music was so loud and distorted could not hear. Very very warm in the theatre. Late night longe pretty much the same most nights There is so much more that I could say, We came away very unhappy stressed and demoralised. What we had been looking forward to after missing big birthdays and 40 th wedding anniversary turned into a nightmare. I did get a bottle of water most days as I complained bitterly and became upset with the frustration of it all. It was very hot weather and everyone should have access to water! We were given a bottle of cheap wine as if this would make everything somehow disappear. No one came back to us. We were also given a Prosecco for our wedding anniversary but every one celebrating gets this. All in all beautiful hotel in lovely setting ruined by no staff or management of the venues or staff in our option. Warner hotels are interested in is making money not looking after guests. Please do not reply to this telling you will take note etc platitudes will not work. Management already know whether they will take note or do anything who knows. We spent thousands £ all wasted. They hope to see us back in two years when it should have improved - no chance they know of problems
