Guide extremely informative. Hotel excellent. All travel and tours ran very smoothly. Good mix of tours and free time.

From the smooth booking experience to the welcoming greeting from Idra (I knew we were about to enjoy ourselves). The hotel Orotava is lovely; our bedroom was most comfortable and spacious with a side sea view from our varanda. The swimming pool was great – and pleasantly warm! The Dining Room was nice and spacious and the food was delicious; with Breakfast and Dinner each day – and the variety! YUM! The evening entertainment was perfect and relaxing after our busy days. All of the hotel staff were pleasant, professional helpful and friendly. Our daily guides, Mary and Hosai gave us such excellent information of the history and current affairs of the island of Tenerife. Our Drivers were very pleasant and helpful. Idra - with her administration skills - organised short walks for me with Mary and Hosai on their tours (just short walks suit me). Mary and Hosai were most helpful and considerate. Idra also organised assistance for me at Tenerife Airport and Dublin Airport. THANK YOU IDRA. So, Travel Department just keep doing what you are doing. And, we will be back with you very soon. Our recent trip to Egypt was truly remarkable, with every detail expertly organised to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. Dodi, our guide, was outstanding—his calm and composed manner, coupled with his deep respect for every member of the group, made all the difference. No request was ever too much trouble, and his meticulous planning ensured that we could fully immerse ourselves in the wonders of Egypt without a single worry. A knowledgeable and attentive guide can elevate a trip from memorable to exceptional, and Dodi certainly did just that. His expertise and dedication enriched our journey, allowing us to appreciate Egypt’s breathtaking sights—from its awe-inspiring ancient monuments to the vibrant local culture. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough, and if you are fortunate enough to have a guide as skilled and gracious as Dodi, you are guaranteed an incredible and insightful journey!

Highlights of Vietnam was one of my best holidays with the Travel Department. The country,the people,our magnificent tour guide Hai. Hai's knowledge and love of his country was proudly shared with the group and he was available almost 24/7 for all of us. Hotels,restaurants, food,tours ,drivers and staff everywhere we went were professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this holiday. Special mention to my fellow travellers,you're the best.

The trip was very well organised by Travel Department. We enjoyed it very much. The group were very friendly and got on well. However, some of the elderly people had issues with stairways/ steps in hotel.

Our trip to China was incredible, we’ve been on 5 long haul trips with the TD, each was fabulous but this was made a truly terrific experience by Jack ,our guide, he was exceptional, knowledgeable about his own country and nearly more about Ireland, Jack made our holiday.. his humility, his absolute kindness to everyone. An amazing man, we’ve enjoyed all our guides (5 to date( but Jack in a league of his own.

I went to Romania with the Travel Department. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We travelled to see lots of places every day. Our guide Adrian was exceptional. He had a wealth of knowledge as a guide and historian. He made our holiday with his expertise and local knowledge. The holiday was excellent value for money as entrance fees, transfers, guide, driver, two nights dinners, were included in the cost. Hotels were lovely. I would highly recommend this holiday.

My recent holiday with The Travel Department in Lake Garda was excellent. Our guide Ava was a very warm charming lady and looked after us very well. The hotel at the side of the lake was comfortable with amazing views and delicious food. The hotel staff were very friendly and informative. As a solo traveller I could not have asked for more from this wonderful Italian holiday.

Such a relaxing way to see such beautiful places - All the details were taken care of, and the guide was always on hand to sort out any problems. He also managed to explain a lot of the local history and geography in an amusing and informative way. There was a good mix of organized tours and free time to do your own exploring, although the one day in Sevilla was too little to see all we wanted. Finishing up in Granada for three nights was great, and gave plenty of time to enjoy it. The group dynamic was very pleasant too, and the guide was excellent up to the very end, seeing us to the airport check-in for our return flight! Definitely will consider traveling again with the Travel Dept!!

The Cannes trip was well organised, however the group was very big, 49 people us too many. There should be a get together of some kind on arrival so people can identify who their fellow travellers are.

The trip to Roses and the French and Spanish Pyrenees, Besalú and Salvador Dalí and Figures, and a visit to a biodiverse winery was a wonderful exposure to this part of NE Spain, all managed extremely well by our guide Margaret. The hotel in Roses was clean, friendly and very accessible to beach, shops and the old town. As it was Semana Santa, there were more festivities about, including the procession on Good Friday night. The trains used for the excursions were different and very interesting. The French train guide should be complemented on her love, passion and enthusiasm of her subject. The winery was interesting but perhaps could have been taken a little earlier in the week.

Went to Puglia excellent tour tour guide Alexandra very knowledgeable and helpful hotel and food lovely great crowd this was my twelfth trip with travel department will be going with them again

Athens and Tolo trip was a delight from start to finish and was made even more magical by Kataryna our very knowledgeable guide and polite and helpful bus driver Dimitri. The programme was a busy one with some early starts but worth every minute to get ahead of the crowds at the sites.

Guide was very good. Location was memorable and enjoyable. As is often the case the pleasant company of other Travel Dept customers was lovely. I do feel bearing the age profile of the Group that the holiday should be rejigged to avoid having to rise at 2:30 AM approx on Departure Day.

It was my first time travelling with the travel department. From start to finish everything was planned and executed to a t. Trips were very enjoyable,did a lot of walking but our free days compensated for that. Claudia our guide was very friendly and the drivers also. Coaches were very comfortable

From initial booking to our return journey everything was organised thoroughly, speedily and efficiently. The Eden hotel & Spa was centrally located within a short distance from the beach and promenade. The hotel itself was a tad dated but the staff more than made up for it they were so helpful and our guide Anke was superb.

Very well organized and helpful in every way . Met wonderful people in the Group which added to the holiday. Great for people traveling solo

Amazing holiday from start to finish. Couriers were brilliant. Travel arrangements efficient whether flight, bus transfers or boat trips which were plentiful. Hotel had amazing views and staff very accommodating.
