Accommodation, food and daytime activities were very good/ excellent. However my one complaint is that you don't book our seats on flights. This can be stressful for older customers. If two people book a holiday they should automatically be seated together by TD without having to pay another charge. My friend and I paid €12 extra to sit together on the way home. It really annoyed me. Don't remember this happening before.

Fantastic trip - well organised- brilliant hotels - guide was brilliant- India is underestimated and is a hidden jewel- I would totally recommend this trip

The overall experience of Egypt was mind blowing I have being on other big cruises ,but the river cruise was one of the best I ever had ,the staff on the boat were excellent could not do a enough for you and our tour guide Dodie is brilliant I can't praise him enough thanks travel Department for a brilliant experience

Great accomodation and good food in each hotel. A very knowledgeable and friendly guide in Helena, and all our journeys ran smoothly. The travel time to Seville was long and unfortunately meant we didn't get as long there as I would have liked.

Excellent hotel choice, good tours and guides, service on arrival and departure faultless, booking simple and straightforward, 4th holiday with Travel dept and plan to have many more

Just back from lake garda trip Very good trip, accommodation excellent,staff very helpful and so friendly, except the food was terrible for evening meal probably the worst iv experienced sofar with travel department excursions were very good but verona and Venice were both running 2 days together as a result everyone was excusted, alot of the guests I spoke too would not go back to Venice as a result, maybe splitting up the trips might be better, Martin our guide was excellent and helpful,

Everything was so well organised. The tour guide Helena was so nice and very knowledgeable of all the historic sites, she really made the holiday experience so good. I would have liked to have spent more time in Seville though. Looking forward to my next trip with Travel Department.

The trip to Egypt was amazing. From day one to the last day, so beautiful to see such history. Hotels were 5 star and the boat was excellent. I met some lovely people. Everything the travel department did was 100%, I can't fault you.

Guides ,hotel ,transfers excellent. The only negative is clarifying tips for guides,drivers and hotel staff.Other travel companies collect a sum on day 1 and have it distributed and explained to the group. On this trip we had 3 drivers 2 guides(1 purely bus to airport). Pro forma prepared info sheets cant properly deal with the different circumstances on tour.

Impeccably organised and utterly reliable. Helena was an absolutely superb guide in every way ; she was really well informed, always pleasant and approachable and helpful in every way.She added greatly to the enjoyment of our excursions.These were very well chosen . Hotel was in a beautiful setting, with a great swimming pool and it had an endless sandy beach "on its doorstep ". There was a wide variety of food . However , fish and vegetables were frequently overcooked, which was a pity. My room was very comfortable , clean, spacious and quiet. As a solotraveller of a certain age , I wholeheartedly recommend The Travel Department with its consistently reliable and pleasant service.

First time Travel Dept.travellers my friend and I chose the holiday to Trains of Spain as it was different. Although we were not expecting too much we had excellent backup from our manager Margaret who was great ,the hotel was not up to four star as stated,a good three star was more like it,clean ,and welcoming it was,the food was fresh and plentiful but menu boring.Room was clean ,but no rubbish basket annoying,and lack of replenished tea/coffee facilities meant we had to go out and buy our own. Staff were all pleasant and helpful.Transport to and from the airport was good. The itinerary was really interesting,places a little out of the way were fascinating,Margarets knowledge of the area phenomenal ! The train journeys great. All in all we both thoroughly enjoyed all of the holiday.

Being beside the Bus stop and the Boat ticket office was an advantage, Handy to view other towns, and very reasonably priced.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Egypt with the Travel Department. Our expert local guide Dodi went above and beyond to support the group and provide us with excellent insights from his extensive knowledge of Egyptology. Trips and excursions were excellent value for money and the hotel accommodation was very good.

This was an outstanding experience. History, Cultural experience, adventure and a lovely group of Solo Travellers who mixed from the beginning. The Cairo section included the Pyramids, Great Sphinx,Museums and a market. The hotel accommodation, food and service was five star. The Nile Cruise was superb. A beautiful boat with great food and service with many unexpected surprises and shows in the evening. Each day brought a new experience. The hot air balloon trip at sunrise was exhilarating. The knowledge and expertise of our tour guide Dodie was outstanding. Nothing was overlooked and he was patient and inclusive to all. I would do this trip again, but not in May as the temperature rose to 49deg. The final section was three days in beautiful Hurghada where we could relax in the beautiful surroundings. Overall a very enjoyable experience . Thank you Travel Department and tour guide Dodie.

Brilliant trip to Andalusia with a great guide. Helena looked after us every step of the way. We started off as 37 strangers. And ended up as 37 friends. Would definitely recommend Travel Department.
