Unacceptable Billing Errors by Tomato Energy

I am deeply frustrated with Tomato Energy's billing accuracy. My July 2025 bill for the period of 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025 was calculated using an estimated meter reading, despite my submission of actual meter readings on 29 June 2025 and 30 June 2025. This resulted in a discrepancy of 158 kWh. For context, my usage last month was less than 100 kWh, making the estimate over 1.5 times my typical consumption.This inaccurate estimate has led to a potentially inflated bill, which is completely unacceptable. I urge Tomato Energy to correct the bill using my submitted readings and overhaul their billing process to prevent such errors. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their service, and I highly NOT recommend Tomato Energy as a service provider. Once my contract term ends, I will switch to another provider and advise all my friends to avoid using Tomato Energy.

Great service and great value for money. If you want an energy company that does not rip you off and gives you the tools to educate you in how to save money then use tomato. We had not heard of them before and are now telling everyone to switch to them

I am rating the call with Anika here only whom I contacted via customer service having yet again been let down by other tomato agent promises & assurances. Anika listened and put actions in place that were instantly delivered. Thank you Anika - I know that 5 star reviews are important to individual employees and your actions deserved it …but what would be better is if the actual company delivered a consistently 5 star service from the outset thus avoiding the need for customers to raise complaints

The best electricity supplier!!

I've been with Tomato Energy for almost a year and it's been brilliant. Changing over to them was very easy. Okay, it took a few weeks before my meter readings were visible online, but since then, bills have come through on-time and I have been able to view my usage at anytime. The prices are incredible! To run an EV and home in winter bills didn't go over £73 a month, and in May, my most recent bill, was under £39 (with solar). The standing charge is also incredible, beating rivals significantly. I won't be changing supplier anytime soon!!! Thank you Tomato Energy!!

There are two main components on my…

There are two main components on my experience with tomato energy, the first one is the service they provide and the other is price they charge. They have exceeded in both. I had octopus and it was a nightmare from day one, it was always the smart meter or DCC's fault. Not a single problem since I moved to Tomato. I use the electricity, they charge me for what I use, no drama, and much cheaper than octopus.

Joined October 2024, bills have always been on time and accurate. I am on the lifestyle ev tariff so 3 different rates over 24hour period. Bills have been cheaper than they have been for previous years with other suppliers even though usage has been greater. I have a plugin hybrid car and air source heatpump. Very happy so far.
