Unacceptable Billing Errors by Tomato Energy

I am deeply frustrated with Tomato Energy's billing accuracy. My July 2025 bill for the period of 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025 was calculated using an estimated meter reading, despite my submission of actual meter readings on 29 June 2025 and 30 June 2025. This resulted in a discrepancy of 158 kWh. For context, my usage last month was less than 100 kWh, making the estimate over 1.5 times my typical consumption.This inaccurate estimate has led to a potentially inflated bill, which is completely unacceptable. I urge Tomato Energy to correct the bill using my submitted readings and overhaul their billing process to prevent such errors. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their service, and I highly NOT recommend Tomato Energy as a service provider. Once my contract term ends, I will switch to another provider and advise all my friends to avoid using Tomato Energy.

Customer focus

Called Tomato Energy today and was dealt with by Pargat. Been a customer with Tomato Energy for the last few months. Have to say the reason why I called was regarding my direct debit, as this is a pay as you use service. Pargat explained simply and clearly they invoice for the usage to date, this is to prevent a huge credit being built up. As he correctly stated you as the customer can earn interest your end. I have to say that Tomato Energy has improved massively since I joined and nice to see people like Pargat from sales helping and answering customers like me asking daft questions. Thank you Tomato and huge thanks to Pargat for providing a more personal touch and conversation.

How electricity supply should be

Straightforward, speedy, effortless switch; sophisticated, cheap time-of-use tariff; flawless, accurate billing and full bill DD a couple of weeks later, so no build-up of credit or debt and haggling over monthly payment. This is how electricity supply should be. I previously left 4 star review on basis that website and webapp falls a bit short, but only in presentation. This down marking was unjustified. Truly excellent!
