Very good, slightly melted

The treats were all good and tasty, the only issue I had was that some of the stuff was melted or crushed but still were very good to snack on.

Absolutely not

Tokyo Treat used to be an actual experience. It's been a while since we last got a box, and I am beyond disappointed, so much so that I'm never planning to return again and here's why: 1) We could no longer choose between a smaller or a premium box and the only option available is described as premium so you'd think you'd get the bigger one. Incorrect. The box is small with everything shoved so tightly in there half of the snacks are cracked. 2) It's absolutely not worth the price. I wanted only 1 box so it was 37.5 USD + 12.99 for shipping. 3) Surprise customs~ Never before did we ever have to deal with customs before when ordering Tokyo Treat but this time we had to pay an additional 7.99 to clear customs. So now the total is 58.48 so 60USD for a underwhelming snack box. 4) The snacks inside are ABSOLUTELY not worth nor the experience and certainly not the money. Not only does every snack look incredibly cheap but they ARE. How can I tell? Because customs. Every single item was listed with it's worth and there were maybe 2-3 snacks out of 15 ones that we got that had a value over 1USD, almost everything else was worth ACTUAL cents. So lets be generous and round the cents to a full dollar. At best the 15 snacks per dollar would be 15 USD which is less than half of what the box itself cost aside from all other expenses. You cannot tell me that is worth it in any way. 5) And for those wondering why we didn't choose a slightly cheaper box by getting a plan that's because of the numerous comments online claiming they got a plan for 6-12 months and got charged the full price at once when Tokyo Treat claims they would pay monthly. Absolutely not. That's some sketchy behavior right there. 6) Even when getting one box I somehow got registered automatically for another payment for another box next month. Had I not checked out of concern I would have been charged unknowingly. And canceling the subscription for the upcoming month was incredibly annoying: being asked multiple times to reconsider, desperately offering discount codes. Just desperate for business. Oh but reactivating a subscription only takes one click in comparison. We used to genuinely enjoy Tokyo Treat but this experience was the last straw. We're incredibly disappointed and won't be coming back.

Incredible Product. Love it!

Always on time, even during the height of covid, the box was only minorly delayed. My family enjoys this box as a mini family event. We all love sharing the new (and, now after having the service for a few years, some familiar) taste sensations. It's an event whether it's finding something we all feel is universally delicious or watching one of us make a new "ick face" or being surprised and confused by what's going on in our mouths lol. It's a lot of fun, and the brochures included with each box bring a delightful new insight to the culture and society of the box's home origins. It's just a really great experience all around for everyone. We love it! ^.^ Oh, and as a little added benefit, this box has helped my son who's on the autism spectrum open up to trying new foods and flavours. At first it was just new stuff from the box but as we've had the sub for quite a while, now he's open to trying new stuff as we go through daily life. That part has been amazing because he's so picky, but, because of the Tokyo treat box, we discovered he likes fish! He liked nori, bonito, and other fishy flavored snacks, including the noodle bowls, and that opened his mind to trying fish. Kind of amazing actually. Highly suggest this sub box to anyone on the fence. Just do it. If you hate it, you can cancel it, but give it a shot for a couple months if you're into trying new things, especially if you prefer to do it in a way with little risk lol.

Worth it!

All of the snacks are authentic and not just the average type of snacks you can easily get in America. And I love the book that comes with it explaining the snacks and listing allergies. It’s very helpful. There’s both sweet and savory treats and a bunch of different textures. There’s something for everyone! It’s worth the rice of the box.

So worth it!

We loved this box so much! It was Sakura themed and everything tasted so oishii (tasty!)!! My favorite was the Sakura pastry and the banana caramel Kit Kats!! The shipping took longer than expected. I guess everyone wanted one of these lol.

Truly awful customer service

If I could give no stars for this company’s customer service, I would. I ordered a box for my son’s birthday, which some five weeks later has never arrived. On seeking help from Customer Services, I was asked on more than one occasion to contact the courier, Yodel, to find out what had happened, when it was very clear from the tracking records held by both Yodel and Tokyo Treats that for some inexplicable reason the package had been returned to the sender. It had been recorded that my address was incorrect and that I had moved, but the shipping address was correct and I have not moved house. Up until this point, I appreciated that it wasn’t necessarily Tokyo Treat’s fault, but nor was it mine. In any event, once it had been accepted that the box was never going to reach me, I requested a refund. I had waited for over a month for the package to arrive and my son’s birthday had passed. This is when I actually began to question whether or not this was a genuine company, as their response was woefully inadequate and totally unsatisfactory. I received a number of emails offering me a replacement box, which I declined each time. In one of these emails, it was suggested that this was a goodwill gesture and would be free of charge, with there seeming to be a deliberate attempt to ignore the fact that I had already paid for a box which I had never received. In a later email, I was then told that although they wanted to help me, they would have to charge me a shipping fee of $12.50, and I again declined this offer and requested a refund. The upshot is that the company is now ignoring my request for a refund and, concerned that they might try to extract the shipping fee, and possibly other charges, from my credit card account, I have now raised a dispute with my credit card company and cancelled my credit card to ensure I am protected. I appreciate there is a ‘no refund’ policy for this company, but this cannot apply in a case where the goods have never actually been received, so I am completely at a loss as to why Tokyo Treat won’t just apologise and refund my payment immediately. I would NEVER buy from this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone I know.

Great experience!! From italy

Great experience! I received three boxes, and they all contained unique and seasonal products, not present in Italy! shipping is fast, the packaging was born colored and changes every month, based on the products inside. this month I received the typical products of Osaka and I'm really happy! the shipment is fast despite the distance and the assistance is very kind and prompt in responding! I wait every month for the box to arrive, I feel like I'm at Christmas 12 months a year!! 🤩
