Absolutely not
Tokyo Treat used to be an actual experience. It's been a while since we last got a box, and I am beyond disappointed, so much so that I'm never planning to return again and here's why: 1) We could no longer choose between a smaller or a premium box and the only option available is described as premium so you'd think you'd get the bigger one. Incorrect. The box is small with everything shoved so tightly in there half of the snacks are cracked. 2) It's absolutely not worth the price. I wanted only 1 box so it was 37.5 USD + 12.99 for shipping. 3) Surprise customs~ Never before did we ever have to deal with customs before when ordering Tokyo Treat but this time we had to pay an additional 7.99 to clear customs. So now the total is 58.48 so 60USD for a underwhelming snack box. 4) The snacks inside are ABSOLUTELY not worth nor the experience and certainly not the money. Not only does every snack look incredibly cheap but they ARE. How can I tell? Because customs. Every single item was listed with it's worth and there were maybe 2-3 snacks out of 15 ones that we got that had a value over 1USD, almost everything else was worth ACTUAL cents. So lets be generous and round the cents to a full dollar. At best the 15 snacks per dollar would be 15 USD which is less than half of what the box itself cost aside from all other expenses. You cannot tell me that is worth it in any way. 5) And for those wondering why we didn't choose a slightly cheaper box by getting a plan that's because of the numerous comments online claiming they got a plan for 6-12 months and got charged the full price at once when Tokyo Treat claims they would pay monthly. Absolutely not. That's some sketchy behavior right there. 6) Even when getting one box I somehow got registered automatically for another payment for another box next month. Had I not checked out of concern I would have been charged unknowingly. And canceling the subscription for the upcoming month was incredibly annoying: being asked multiple times to reconsider, desperately offering discount codes. Just desperate for business. Oh but reactivating a subscription only takes one click in comparison. We used to genuinely enjoy Tokyo Treat but this experience was the last straw. We're incredibly disappointed and won't be coming back.
