I am indeed perturbed by the excellent customer service received by Kelly McDermott, and by extension Thornley Groves, Kelly took her time to show me around, as well as the amenities around the neighbourhood. They come highly recommended.

We went to view a property in Ellesmere Park and Kelly (McDermott) was waiting for our arrival. Kelly was very welcoming and friendly. She was knowledgeable and helpful in answering all our questions. Kelly ensured our viewing was a positive experience.

The service I have received has always been professional, helpful and timely. Emma Slabbert always gets back to me with the answers I’m looking for. I would have no hesitation using them again for my future property rentals and would gladly recommend them to anyone looking to receive a quality and personal service .

James Hoyle recently took over the role of managing my property and when it was time for the tenancy renewal he was superb , he communicated really well and was considerate to my specific needs he had great awareness of the current market too.

Viewed a property in Monton. Kelly McDermott showed me the main areas and let me wander round at my own speed upstairs. Kelly was knowledgeable and friendly.

This agency was great to deal with when it came to renting, signing documents and getting into the property. However, once moved in, it is a different experience. We've raised issues via their reporting system for months, every time they close the jobs without actually fixing them or providing an explanation. Most recently, our whole intercom system has broken down, leaving us with the inability to open the front door via our intercom or via the entry code. They closed the issue within days, without any communication or updates, and of course, without fixing the intercom. Our gate is also faulty, it has been raised by multiple tenants, over the last few months, and of course, closed without being fixed. Due to this, one of the tenants bike was stolen from the car park, as it was easily accessible with a faulty gate. No effective communication, or in fact, no communication at all. They give a sense of kindness when they get your money and get you into their properties, then show their true colours over the tenancy period.

We had the experience of viewing a house with thornley grove Moston branch . We met Kelly McDermott at the house . We found her extremely welcoming with a big smile on her face . She was knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all our questions and was more than willing to help if we wanted another opportunity to come to the house ..highly recommend her

My property was let only (so not managed by Thornley Groves) however my security deposit was held with Thornley Groves and then processed via TDS. After my lease ended abruptly (due to extreme mould and inhabitable living conditions), I had to unexpectedly come up with moving funds which took a financial toll. Upon reaching out to Thornley Groves, all I was after was an update on whether the process to start the return of any sum of my security deposit had started, I got shut down and had to chase numerous times before I got given the right contact. I also want to add that my property was never fitted with a smoke alarm which Thornley Groves failed to investigate further. More respect should be showed to Tenants who Let Only rather than telling me you 'only take instructions from the Landlord'. My start with Thornley Groves was a positive experience but it ended on a bitter note.

I hope never to find a rental managed by these agents. Message to arrange a viewing, complete the online questions and then sent a link to book a viewing in person. Jump through the hoops manage to get a suitable booking time close to when I clicked the link as properties go in a flash. Not 2 hours before the viewing I get an email cancelling the viewing as they’ve aceptes an offer…fine city centre flats are hard to get if you’re not quick. My main gripe is spending time trying to contact them to arrange viewings at other properties with emails unanswered and dealing with their crappy booking system that isn’t fit for purpose.

I have used Thornley groves before so on this occasion because I was acting for a third-party I weighed up the offer of other local estate agents. I went with TG because it was apparent that they had sold another house in the street and I thought this was a short sign that their tactics and strategy were successful. I met with Johnny and had contact with Claire carpenter and the service was prompt very efficient. We initially thought that we would have to do some renegotiation on the price because of the condition of the property but we were assured this wasn’t necessary and we got significantly more than our expectation. The admin side was slightly complicated because we were dealing with a third-party in a care home, but that was overcome quite efficiently politely and professionally with Johnny. The communications have always been promptly issued and where there has been a few delays because of the other party. These have been overcome assertively and in a reassuring manner I would have no hesitation in recommending Claire and John to support prospective buyers or sellers and would like to thank them for their support.

Kelly McDermott was very punctual, informed can attend early. Showed around the house and garden. Knew alot about the property. very friendly. very quick Dressed well, presented herself in a friendly but professional manner.

Thornley grove Estate Agents have got the be the worst property management service in Manchester. I asked to switch agents because I was unhappy with the service this was 18-12-2023 Ive been passed from pillar to post ( holidays staff leaving on sick leave) I’m still waiting now in June 2024

Want to thank Tom Baker who manages our apartment in leftbank. What he did for us after a leak due to blocked drains and boiler issue. He went above and beyond for us as we was in Canada so time difference never helped. Tom organised everything for us and we was regularlly updated and issues sorted because on Toms swift action. If you have a property that you rent out we highly recommend Thornley Groves and Tom who makes landlords job easy

I had a viewing at a property with Kelly McDermott, her service was amazing! She was so warm and welcoming from the minute we arrived. Kelly was knowledgeable about the property which helped a lot in making our decision. It makes all the difference when the person showing you around a property is as nice as Kelly was so thanks very much for that Kelly.

The original estate agents managing the rent and agreement with our current property went under, and Thornley Groves stepped in to take charge of our tenancy management. We had faults with the property which we addressed to them as soon as they took over, to which they kept passing us over to a different agent and none were resolved. We had to contact the maintenance gentleman who worked directly for the landlord to assist with fixing broken walls, doors and eradicating a mouse problem. Our home is kept clean and tidy and we are respectful tenants, and re-did the entire garden space. When the period of tenancy was coming to a close, we were not considered at all to re-new said tenancy and promptly spotted our house on the market to which we had no notification. We elected to contact them to re-new, and they informed us the rent would be going up. We challenged this as they did not commit to re-doing the ancient kitchen from 1972 or providing an extractor fan and would still increase the rent without these promises being made. As the renewal failed, we were then subject to surprise visits from potential new tenants who showed up (one time without an agent to represent!) for a viewing, which we had to decline due to no notice whatsoever. They have also been unhelpful with going further to assist with locating other similar properties and provided no guidance. Very quick to collect the rent or get in touch about it, and very slow to address any concerns. We will be refusing any further business or association with the agency for the forseeable future. Avoid at all costs.
