Sehr schlecht
Obwohl ich mein Talkpalkonto gelöscht habe, haben sie trotzdem den Betrag für das Premium-Abo abgebucht. Jetzt habe ich für das Premium-Abo bezahlt, das ich nicht nutzen kann. Ich war nur auf der Website registriert und hatte keine App. Auf der Website steht, dass das Löschen des Kontos automatisch das Abo beendet. Dies ist jedoch nicht der Fall. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich eine Antwort vom Kundenservice bekommen werde. Allerdings werde ich meine Debitkarte blockieren.

Despite entering correct email and password Talkpal says there is an error, yet when I try to register again using the same email and password l am told user already exists. Is Talkpal a scam??

I haven't used the app for very long…
I haven't used the app for very long and I love the idea but hope it gets better. I find myself getting frustrated with the responses because I will tell it something like what color and size I want a dress in and about a minute later it will ask my the same questions as though I didn't just answer them. And sometimes when I have asked questions to pretend I was talking to a real person, the feedback I would get is that it can't tell me about its family, life, etc because it is just AI. Obviously it is AI... it would just be nice to be able pretend it is a real person for the sake of practicing conversation, which I kind of thought was the point. So I think it has potential but it is falling short of what I would have liked.

Way to Contact for Troubleshooting ? Disappointing
I was doing quite well with sentence repetition on my PC but I changed to chat and accidentally refused access to my microphone by clicking. Now I can't find any way to put that right and the app is not useful any more. There doesn't seem to be a way to contact the admin.

Call your teacher any time your want !
I read some of the past reviews and some of them have been taken into consideration to make TalkPal AI one of the most promising language learning tool out here. It is now both an APP and a Web Page. The features are amazing - and I have no doubt they'll keep on improving the service. As a language teacher and a language enthusiast myself, I can attest the benefits of this app. It allows you to practice within a safe environment, to learn the vocabulary you need given a topic of your interest. The AI allows many features a normal teacher would have to do - correcting, improving, helping your translate, repeating.... They have both a written chat and a phone call simulator now. I think the quality is great enough to enable many people to study on their own. It's linguistically better than Duolingo or Memrise, for me, because it enables you to practice your creativity with what you have and builds up on it. It's a ressource any autonomous (or non autonomous but hungry) learner should have in their pocket. Complete it with a solid workbook and Anki, and you're good to go ! I think the premium version is totally worth investing in - you have a teacher available at any time you wish ! It really does a lot of what teachers are supposed to do when practicing speaking or writing. Trying it was definitely adoting it for me. I'm surprised it's not widespread yet ...

Tried the basic version - rather limited interest
I tried the basic version since I do not give credit card details if I don't know that I like the service. The microphone access prompted by the website does not work, input via the somewhat approximative Mac dictation function is the only solution I can think of. The website basically gives you some prompts, the "AI" picks up some keywords of your reply and gives you another (written) prompt. Not sure I like it but I may return to it at some point.

Good App. Customer service needs to be quicker
UPDATE 25th March - Since posting the below, customer service contacted me and restored my Premium access. The app is very good for me. customer service is a little slow. ORIGINAL REVIEW 20th March - Went well at first - paid for the upgrade but after they took the money all Premium features stopped working. Have tried to contact the company and they have not responded. Have tried 3 or 4 times and there is no response.

This app has great potential
This app has great potential. I was going to give it 3 stars because the conversational level seemed too advanced and I couldn't find a way to change that. Then I wondered if the AI would come down to my level and so I asked Emma, the chat bot, to talk to me at the Introductory level of the Babbel app, and she did!
