Review summary
Talk Home Mobile has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Their new notification policy is a nightmare. I've been with them over a year. Suddenly when they take payment they text notifications overnight eg almost 1am or 7am when everyone is sleeping. Most people keep their phones open overnight eg for emergencies. Nothing gives them the right to wake us up.
Email confirmations. Don't text!! I told them last month they had woken me up. I was fuming. They assured me they would turn off notifications. They did not. This month they texted me at 12.40AM!! This is highly unethical and violates UK noise pollution laws.
Businesses cannot contact consumers outside reasonable business hours. This means 8am to 11pm.
I wish to profusely thank Talk Home staffer Mr Adam who provied excellent support through 'Chat' function on 5 July 2025. This Chat I tried after repeated failing to get anyone, even worse disconnection while trying to speak with Talk Home Mobile team. so their phone does not work but luckily chat worked and more luckily Mr Adam was fantastic. Thank you dear Adam
Couldn't work out how to get more data using the online dashboard. Asked the chat bot. It put me through to a real person almost immediately, they replied in under a minute each time and stayed with me until I had actually been able to place the order. Thank you Adam.
Online chat to see how to reinstate my SIM plan, got there in the end via Tom but it did take several attempts to explain what I was after before being told what I needed to do.
I had the sim for 6 month my network is keep droping on daily basis.every time i contact customer service my call is automatically rejected.
waste of money and time.
my sim was replaced but not improvements
Awful company. I took a pay monthly SIM only deal from them back in March. I received no order confirmation emails and no SIM turned up. I assumed there had been a mistake in ordering so I moved on to a different service. A month later I was charged for the service from Talk Home, a service I had never received. I went to their website and found out that they had taken my order and had my order as pending claiming they were going to send my SIM card soon. It's been a month, they themselves haven't even sent the SIM and they clearly know that, but they still charged for the month.. I emailed them and was ignored. I spoke to PayPal and they ruled in my favour and refunded me. Unfortunately I was not aware that this ruling did not automatically cancel future recurring payments. So a month later Talk Home charged me again! They still haven't sent a SIM card for the service. I've emailed them again but have little doubt I'll be ignored again. I've had to raise another case with PayPal and have now manually cancelled my recurring payments to Talk Home. Unfortunately it seems Talk Home is a scam service.
I foolishly helped my parents sign up to this scam. Signed up for the “Starter Plus” rolling plan, they processed the payment and sent the sim. I followed the instructions to activate and port in their numbers. It’s now a week later and they cannot use their phones. When you look at the account, it shows their ported number, but they cannot make calls or text. The account says £0.00, but lists the plan, so I asked & was rudely just told “it’s different”… right, so how about MAKE IT CLEAR WHY AND WHATS HAPPENING!!! I asked about the ported number, the advisor just asked for the number and basically said “it’s done”. Yet it doesn’t work.
Their app is dodgy af too. They tell you to download it to manage your mobile account yet it seems to just be an app to make international phone calls, because my poor elderly mother saw “top up” and assumed that’s why her phone wasn’t working so topped up! Is there any money on her mobile account? No. So far we’ve wasted £20 on this scam.
Edited to add:
I emailed “Hello at TalkHomeapp dot com” (no links allowed here) as per the dodgy Talk Home app’s instructions in an attempt to get Mums money back… only to have the email fail. “TSuthakaran wasn’t found at NowTel dot com dot uk”. NowTel? Yet I emailed TalkHomeapp. If that doesn’t sum it all up perfectly, nothing else will. The help email is fake and forwards to something else… except now it doesn’t.
This is a scam.
