Their new notification policy is a nightmare. I've been with them over a year. Suddenly when they take payment they text notifications overnight eg almost 1am or 7am when everyone is sleeping. Most people keep their phones open overnight eg for emergencies. Nothing gives them the right to wake us up.
Email confirmations. Don't text!! I told them last month they had woken me up. I was fuming. They assured me they would turn off notifications. They did not. This month they texted me at 12.40AM!! This is highly unethical and violates UK noise pollution laws.
Businesses cannot contact consumers outside reasonable business hours. This means 8am to 11pm.
I wish to profusely thank Talk Home staffer Mr Adam who provied excellent support through 'Chat' function on 5 July 2025. This Chat I tried after repeated failing to get anyone, even worse disconnection while trying to speak with Talk Home Mobile team. so their phone does not work but luckily chat worked and more luckily Mr Adam was fantastic. Thank you dear Adam
Just moved over to Talk Home mobile. Ordered the sim card which arrived 3 days later. Ported my number across via the online web browser login, which took 2 days. My number is now showing correctly in the app and received free 1GB data for one month. Looking forward to using Talk Home mobile in the United Kingdom and abroad, due to the fantastic roaming prices. Thank you.
Cancelled my contract with them and ported out my number. With every other company this then stops payments. Not with Talk Home Mobile, they continued to bill me, without even having a phone number linked to them.
The company has been pleasant every time I have dealt with the customer service team (hence 2 stars). However, since joining a few months ago, I have needed to contact them every single month with problems.
Firstly the delivery of the SIM card was very slow compared to other companies taking about a week to arrive. The porting process is confusing on their website and did not work for me until I contacted customer service. The switch took longer than it has with other companies and left me without signal for most of the day. Once I had signed up to a plan a second identical plan appeared in my account and a second payment was taken from my account. Customer service cancelled this and I got the money back. At the end of the month, without any correspondence, my phone simply stopped working and the plan just ended without informing me, although it is supposed to auto renew. I again had another day sorting this without a working phone, not ideal when you are on holiday without wifi. The next month a second plan again appeared in my account, once again charging me. Another conversation with customer service and the second plan was cancelled. I don’t understand why anyone would want two identical plans.
The app and website experience is awful and the whole experience has been a headache and at the end of every month I now expect my phone to suddenly stop working. I am now in the process of switching to a more well known company, I suppose there’s a reason they’re cheap.
I requested to port in my old number to the new sim card. I was advised it should be done within 24 hours but this is taking much longer. To make matters worse the old number is no longer working and so I can only use the new sim/number and don't want to tell my contacts of new number when I want to keep my old number. Talkhome customer service is poor, with unclear lines and staff I have spoken too tend to speak poor English!
Great customer service, friendly and very helpful. Adam had dealt with my enquiry with quickly. Guided me and explsined throughly through the whole process. Would recommend !!
