My wife and I had a great experience…

My wife and I had a great experience moving into our new property, thanks to the process of searching for it and negotiating with Adem. Following up with Enzo with the viewing until I moved in was easy for us. Thank you for the opportunity to rent this home, as we really needed this space.

Best experience

This is my first time renting and I will say it was a wonderful and stress-free experience. My special thanks go to Enzo who made it so easy.

Avoid Avoid Avoid

Avoid Avoid Avoid, an extremely pushy estate agent that doesn’t take the word no for an answer. If your looking to buy / sell in the Crystal Palace area, there are a more friendly and welcoming estate agents in that area.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs - when I was in the process of purchasing a property, I had one conversation with Streets Ahead and it was abundantly clear that they had nothing which matched my requirements. Instead of leaving it and contacting me when/if something suitable became available, I was bombarded with emails advertising properties way outside my price range and subsequent phone calls trying to talk me into viewing things I simply couldn't afford. I decided to use Tyler at Foxtons (07875800574), who managed to secure me a property and facilitate my move-in within three months. I've lived here for a further two (at time of writing this is c. 5 months after my initial call with Streets Ahead) and am STILL being inundated with marketing spam from them. All requests to be removed from their mailing list are ignored and every time you block one of them, you get an email from a colleague doing exactly the same thing. Shocking.

Dropped like hot coal on move in day!

We were supposed to be moving into a property in Whitestone Way, Croydon. This had been agreed on 03/07 to move in 02/09. Passed the reference checks etc. When asking for the contract in the weeks leading up to the move in we were continuously fobbed off. It wasnt until 3pm on move in day that we were told the landlord had cancelled last minute due to a bereavement. This almost left us homeless as we'd already given notice to our current landlord. Later on that night we see that the property has been posted again online for an immediate move in date. They said this was a tech error but the advert is still up at the time of writing. My friend called them and asked if they were taking viewings which they confirmed they were. When confronted about this they simply blocked us on WhatsApp. Be careful in your dealings with these people, you wouldn't treat your worst enemy like that!

I wouldn’t rent from these people

I wouldn’t rent from these people. They take months to do essential repairs and the people they send to do them don’t do them properly anyway. They ignore your calls and emails for days and yet when they email you expect to be harassed unless you give them a speedy reply.

Selling our property and had streets…

Selling our property and had streets ahead Addiscombe visiting us. The staff who visited us was kind and seemed professional. So we thought yeah we will go with them. We called left messages no one returned our calls. Sent emails and no reply. This happened about 4 times in a week. If they are doing this at this stage how will it be after we sign the contract with them. So I emailed them and told them that we will be going with a different agency as we are not happy with the communication. Still no reply. Glad that we didn't go with them. We went with BARNARD AND MARCUS and glad we did, I never have to call to chase things up. They will always call me to update me of everything. Staff is wonderful. Every thing is fantastic.

Super hardworking agents

Streets Ahead were great to work with, from start to finish. We’d previously marketed our property with another agent who hadn’t had much success. Streets Ahead Purley were super keen to get us on their books, and once we’d signed up they quickly started getting people through the door. Having secured a buyer there were unfortunately legal issues with the chain below us, which delayed our sale. After nearly a year our buyer pulled out of the purchase; but the Streets Ahead team had been trying to progress the sale and then got straight back on it and were able to arrange a high number of viewings in a short time. This ‘open day’ resulted in a strong offer and second time round we exchanged / completed within eight weeks. Their fees were higher than the competition, but the extra cost was genuinely well worth it. Our previous agent told us that their ‘network of branches’ would all be working for us and trying to sell our property; but we saw no evidence of this. With Streets Ahead this really was the case, and it really did feel that the whole team was trying to sell our house. They seemed to work harder, certainly worked longer hours, and were great and drumming up support for our property and getting people through the door. Many thanks to the whole team (a few of whom have now left). Jason and Jo from the Purley branch were the team that finally got us over the line, and big, big thanks to Andrew our Sales Progressor who kept everything moving smoothly once the sale had been agreed. In addition to these guys, thanks to many of the other team members who we worked with, including Gemma, Lara, Jamie, Catherine, and Diana; who all played a key role in selling our house. Highly recommended. Give them a try – you won’t be disappointed!

Incredible team at Streets Ahead in South Norwood

I am beyond grateful to the team at Streets Ahead South Norwood branch who helped me navigate a tricky purchase that completed at the height of lockdown. When I first viewed the property, I was met by Patrick Simpson, who supported me in taking my time to look around while giving me honest and detailed insights into the area's market. He helped me make the right decision to put in an offer. The sales team headed by Sedat Kilic fairly presented my offer to the seller and avoided a 'bidding war' on a sought after property. I believe they were fundamental in having my offer chosen over a cash buyer, and for that alone, I can't thank them enough. I had Philip Bruce and Mary-Jane Taylor look after me during the final stages. I found Philip to be incredibly helpful during the stress and complication of completing during the lockdown, and his proactive stance pushed the purchase through. I would wholeheartedly recommend Streets Ahead to anyone.

The whole team progressed us along very quickly which we're grateful for. Especially Gavin Gordon from the Croydon branch who was very helpful and transparent through the whole letting process; always happy to chat and go through things which made the whole process easier for us. He was very amiable and we felt confident in his ability to handle our letting. There were a few negative points which include not being told some info (e.g. car parking bay) on the day of move in but nothing major. Overall good service
