Hot water issues

Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.
This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.
I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

Great machine I can’t drink tap water now I can literally taste the chlorine in it now after years of drinking it I would not go back! I have had a bit of interaction with the customer service team since owning this machine and they have been lovely throughout. Would recommend giving them a chance.

Great product with great service. It really is what it states it is. I was shocked by the amount of waste water. Hydration boost is superb. Have bought one for my parent and recommend all to get one.

In all honesty it’s a tidy little machine. It looks aesthetically pleasing, it’s slimline and easy to use. What I don’t like is that it’s noisy and it doesn’t do cold water (room temp and hot water only) the hot water isn’t hot enough for a cup of tea and the mineral hydration drops used to come in a bottle you just slot in and now you just get sachets. We weren’t informed of this change and it seems expensive for what it is. The savings made in posting out sachets rather than glass bottles should have been passed onto the consumer. Other than that it’s a decent little machine.

I chose Skuma because it filtered the most out of the water according to what I could research and realistically use. The issue with filtering out so much is you need to re-mineralise it, but the infusions make that simple, it just comes out the machine ready to go. The water is significantly better tasting now and now when I go back to my tap water is smells and tastes off. I needed Skuma support a few times in my first year, first on installation, and secondly to replace a part. They resolved both things so I'm grateful and will be using this for a good while longer I hope.

I have been using Skuma for nearly a year now! Amazing company. I use the hydration infusion to help keep me hydrated during my workouts. Definitely recommended!

Amazing reverse osmosis system. I love the added minerals you can add to the water, such a great idea. Love being able to now drink pure water with a system built by a UK company 🇬🇧👍🏻

I’ve really enjoy using my Skuma! It looks nice and sleek on the counter, it works really well and provides really great tasting water. The infusion boosters are a great idea and you can taste the differences between the different types offered. The customer service is very responsive as well which is always a massive positive as you know they’ll do their best to sort out any issues. All in all a great company with a great product 👍
