Review summary

Samsungtradeinoffer receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from customers, with many expressing frustration over their trade-in process. Reviewers frequently describe their experiences as scams, citing unexpected fees and claims of damage to their devices that were not present before sending them in. For instance, one customer reported being charged an additional £100 for a phone that was in excellent condition, while another mentioned being told their device had a broken case despite having documented its condition. On a more positive note, a small percentage of users have reported satisfactory trade-ins, receiving the full quoted value without issues, particularly for tablets. However, these positive experiences are vastly outnumbered by complaints regarding poor service and perceived dishonesty.

Nefarious and Unscrupulous Individuals.

Samsung Ref no - 2879955 Order number - UK240103-07008801 I was offered £370 for my old Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra as part of a trade-in for the new S24 Ultra. I promptly returned my old phone when my new S24 arrived. Unfortunately, the S24 Ultra had a faulty screen and was returned for a refund. When I queried Samsung about my trade-in, they said they'd contact their 'trade-in dept' and put the 'recycling' of my old phone on hold. Me being cynical contacted their trade-in partner and they said that there was no chance of recovering my phone once they had received it! Emailed customer service and they said I'd get the market value for the phone back in way of a refund. I was expecting £370, No they're giving me £230. No way did I agree to this and I am absolutely livid how they could do this to me? I'm now in the unenviable position of having no phone at all. They have no right to rip me off like this and I'm not going to accept this abysmal situation. So ultimately, heed my advice. Do not send your old phone back until you're completely satisfied with the new one. Otherwise you'll never see your old phone again and not be offered your original agreed trade-in price in return.

Would give no stars for this…

Would give no stars for this experience. Husband bought me a watch for Xmas and traded in my watch. The trade in price he was given was around the £70 mark. I returned the new watch in the new year so I could get the bigger one. He emailed Samsung trade in to explain the refund, sent the refund credit note and they said its already been recycled and offered £10. I'm so confused and appalled that they think this is acceptable. This is in no way a seamless service. Why recycled within the return time frame? Really disgusting and sly and no shame about offering £10.

I should have read the reviews

I should have read the reviews before going ahead with the trade in. There was nothing wrong with my trade in phone. I transferred all the data from it and factory reset it. 6 weeks after Samsung received the phone i received an email to say the phone had a blank screen and i had to pay £150 or my new phone would be blocked!!! The trade in promotion is a huge scam, don't do it.

MTR trade in and SAMSUNG ARE THE PEFECT…

MTR trade in and SAMSUNG ARE THE PEFECT SCAM- DON'T TRADE IN YOUR PHONE! What ever you do, don't work with trade in from Samsung AND DONT' BUY FROM SAMSUNG SHOP. They're experts in ending up with both the money for your trade-in device and the phone. I got such a bad experience with them that this is my last purchase from Samsung. Their scheme has been reported to the official bodies for investigation. They shouldn't be allowed to trade.

I sent in a Z fold 3 for the new Z flip…

I sent in a Z fold 3 for the new Z flip 5. Bearing in mind the price of these phones. Never dropped the phone, yet after the 14 day cooling off period - email received saying need to pay £150 excess due to damaged screen/bleed etc. 14 day ran out on 18th, email received on 18th - coincidence or tactics. I said no and contacted samsung who stated it was now outside of the 14 day return period. Needless to say going round the houses; as they have no process to return my old phone and refund £600 and me send the new one back (as it is outside 14 days) THEREFORE make sure you send your trade in TRACKED and immediately you get the new phone this might stop this happening to you (mine was delayed by 3 days and perhaps might have stayed in the 14 days) The T&Cs covering the deal state a maximum surcharge of £100, not the £150 I have had to pay. Will take this up with Samsung and further. Guess next TV, Phone and Fridge will be other makes now - regardless of brand, I don't like being conned.

Samsung device trade in MTR Group scam

I traded in my perfectly good Z Flip 3 for the Z Flip 4, returned using the strong Z Flip 4 box in bubble wrap in the pre-paid envelope. I received an email from MTR Group Ltd., who I suppose are sub-contracted to assess trade in devices. They stated that the traded in Z Flip 3 had an LCD 'bleed' accompanied by the worst distant, tiny, blurred image ever. No proof it was my device at all. It was perfect when dispatched and in a strong Z Flip 4 box for protection. MTR Group Ltd. demanded I pay an additional £150 in order to complete my trade-in, which like an idiot I did. This was before I saw all the similarly unhappy Samsung customers on Trustpilot. I have now learned my lesson, do not give these people your perfectly good device for peanuts. I basically gave my old phone away. At least take pictures of your old device as evidence before posting. I hope Oppo won't be this cynical when I move to their flip phone next. Order No. 1173824. Samsung have come back to me and escalated the issue/complaint, outcome pending.

Be careful of this scam artist

Be careful of this scam artist. I sent my phone for a trade-in after buying Samsung phone Zflip4. All went through smoothly, they even sent me an email confirmation about the payment has been sent. Except the money never arrives. I contacted them and this is what I got from them: "Your order has been referred to our internal Fraud investigation Team.". Based on some reviews on this website, everyone knows which one is a fraud. I am such a fool for believing in this trade-in program, gonna return the phone asap before the return period ends.

Samsung Trade In Tablet process

I bought a Samsung S6 Tab Lite and wanted to trade in my old Ipad, but when I enter the serial number on the Samsung Trade In website, it's telling me its a phone. I have tried the 'contact us' link, but not even sure if it has gone through because no email confirmation. I then eventually got through to MTR who manage this for Samsung and they gave me an email address. Still waiting to here from them - worried I will miss the deadline date.

Trade in device refund awaiting since August 2021

Hi Thanks for your reply.  I am not sure how many times that I have to go through same thing over again and again. I am awaiting on refund for device which you claiming that IME is blacklisted and you have destroyed. I trade in attachments invoice Samsung S205gG inorder to to purchase ZFlip which I returned in September 2021 and got refund in October 2021.I am still awaiting for my trade in device refund which i was informed in August 2021 was sold off straight away now you are saying it has been destroyed.  This shows that your customer service is below standard of customer service you have been acclaiming on the website. For past 8 months that I have been emailing nonstop and calling customer service and all the departments in Samsung UK  This is pathetic and worst customer service anyone has ever experience.  Now , I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding my refund before I seek any legal aid for your unreasonable and unhelpful service. As this IME is not black listed as I have purchased this decide from Samsung.co.uk.  So I urge you to open your eyes inorder to work on this matter as I don't see you guys doing anything beside blaming me for something which I haven't done. This will be posted on social media for your responses so other customers can have idea of how your service is unreasonable and scamming me for past 8 months for chasing  for refund.  Please get in touch with me as soon as possible Kind Regards Ammara

Complete and utter scam

Complete and utter scam. First I was sent no packaging to send my trade in. So I packaged it up at my own expense and sent Special Delivery which cost me £14. I received an email confirming receipt of the phone and that they would contact me after it was processed. 2 months later they emailed saying it had screen burn and that I had to pay £25. The phone had absolutely nothing wrong with it before I sent it! So much for my £50 discount if I have to pay £25 on top of the delivery! What a complete and utterly scam! Think I'll be switching to apple next time...

IF THINKING OF TRADING IN WITH SAMSUNG

IF THINKING OF TRADING IN WITH SAMSUNG. THINK AGAIN....Purchased s22 traded in s20. Phone was under 2 years old and received email from recycle dept stating burnscreen. Phone was in really good condition and then to be told have to pay 75 excess to get fixed. Samsung advert to trade in didnt mention screen burn. if i knew burn screen was a thing i could have got fixed for a lot cheaper then 75. Which was confirmed, by the 3rd party samsung use to trade in their phone. Plus never had a problem with screen in the whole 2 years i had phone and no sign of a problem with my screen when posted. samsung sold has sold phones with screens not good for purpose or scam going on. Called customer services who told me this had to be paid. Not happy with trade
