Hosts beware

Hosts beware. Do not list with this rental platform. The communication, follow through, and payment processes are horrible! It has been 2 weeks since we hosted a two-day rental and no one has responded to a single email that we have sent and we have had to involve the Better Business Bureau of the polarimo County California local licensing board. Do yourself a favor and read the Better Business Bureau and all reviews that aren't published by Red awning as they are biased. Unless you feel like being constantly managing right awning more than you would have managed your own platform or property. They are simply a high price listing service that expects to get cleaners through turno and maintenance through Thumbtack and will say they are a full service platform but they are no service platform. Please do your homework and believe the things you read

Lack of professionalism and knowledge

I had a very disappointing experience with RedAwning, specifically with a representative named Scott. He was not only unhelpful, but he also demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge. Instead of trying to help or offer solutions, he was dismissive throughout the call and ultimately hung up on me before I had even finished speaking. This behavior is completely unacceptable. It has caused me to lose all trust in RedAwning.

“This townhome was absolutely perfect…

“This townhome was absolutely perfect for UofI graduation in May! The location was 2 blocks from commencement making it ideal for every type of event associated with the university. The accommodations included every detail possible - tastefully decorated.”

Never again

The property that I booked and paid for well in advance in November 2023 for Mardi Gras in February 2024 was not available and I didn't find out until I was on a plane and on my way. The actual property owners had no idea and were quite confused. I'd received confirmation and multiple emails prior to my stay however. As a result, I nor my companions had a place to stay when we arrived. My money was also tied up to the tune of $4,000+. Thankfully there was room at a local hotel. I incurred extra fees that I was not prepared to pay as a result (valet/food,etc.). I'll never again book with you if I know that you're managing the property. Full disclosure, this was supposed to have been verified in a conversation prior to booking because of another booking error. Clearly communication was an issue

Totally confusing experience

Totally confusing experience. MisterB&B, then Red Awning, then tropicaliarentals.com. No actual contact with the actual landlord. Very disturbing.

Worse experience ever

Worse experience ever, I booked a family vacation 3 months out and I was supposed to get my check in information 5 days out. I called and emailed countless times and they kept passing the baton to the property owner who also did not answer. I did not get an answer until 6PM the day before my check in just to be told they cancelled my booking and that there was no accommodations being made for this. They showed zero responsibility or ownership and offer nothing. I have booked vacations in FL for decades and I have never encountered this level of incompetency and lack of customer service. If you see RedAwning think twice and look elsewhere.

It was very difficult checking in

It was very difficult checking in. Nobody was there to assist. I was given a code to get key from lockbox, but never given the name of the room. Jacuzzi tube in bathroom did not work, and the outside jacuzzi was discussing. An $179 unexpected resort fee was tacked on, which brought this room up to $380 dollars. Total ripe off.

Customer Service is poorly designed and frustrating

My experience was poor. It took a week to get an answer to a simple question. Through that process, I realized the following: 1) speaking with a actual person is nearly impossible, the processes are built to insulate the owners and management companies 2) although the emails and website have a great look of convenient customer service, it is mostly a façade, 3) the email answers you receive generally don't even acknowledge or address your questions without repeated attempts, 4) you deal with "the team" or other anonymous type entities that helps avoid individual accountability, 5) the unknown people on the other end of the chats or emails are often unfamiliar with the properties, and 6) I anticipate nothing will change as I believe this is a lucrative business that has evolved to insulate and further distance the owners and management companies from having to address any issues directly. I do anticipate a well written response to this rating will be posted. No one is actually responsible or actually accountable for any answer (owners, local host, management entities, email responders can each point to someone else or another process). I would encourage owners to try to find other options.
