Hosts beware

Hosts beware. Do not list with this rental platform. The communication, follow through, and payment processes are horrible! It has been 2 weeks since we hosted a two-day rental and no one has responded to a single email that we have sent and we have had to involve the Better Business Bureau of the polarimo County California local licensing board. Do yourself a favor and read the Better Business Bureau and all reviews that aren't published by Red awning as they are biased. Unless you feel like being constantly managing right awning more than you would have managed your own platform or property. They are simply a high price listing service that expects to get cleaners through turno and maintenance through Thumbtack and will say they are a full service platform but they are no service platform. Please do your homework and believe the things you read

Lack of professionalism and knowledge

I had a very disappointing experience with RedAwning, specifically with a representative named Scott. He was not only unhelpful, but he also demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge. Instead of trying to help or offer solutions, he was dismissive throughout the call and ultimately hung up on me before I had even finished speaking. This behavior is completely unacceptable. It has caused me to lose all trust in RedAwning.

“This townhome was absolutely perfect for UofI graduation in May! The location was 2 blocks from commencement making it ideal for every type of event associated with the university. The accommodations included every detail possible - tastefully decorated.”

We booked a cabin for two nights to…

We booked a cabin for two nights to have a quick stress-free getaway after a very hectic week. We had to work on Friday so knew we wouldn't get to our cabin till late. We were so looking forward to the hot tub and alone time. I received confirmation and receipt for full payment. I received an ID # which I thought was going to be the code to get into the cabin but when we arrived it became obvious this was not the case. We called the number provided and was informed the cabin had been double booked. We were also told we would be the one to find other accommodations. The owner did not offer to help with trying to find us other accomodations nor did she offer to help with the cost of having to find a room on such short notice on a weekend when the area was having a Corvette show and hotels were booked up.

BeachGate Condos

The front staff played a game to try to guess who was walking in based on the day’s reservations. The lady across me to my left correctly guessed that I was Brandy Morales. I am not sure what that was all about, but had I been someone of color, that could have been interpreted as quite racist and just generally unprofessional. My advice would be either to quit that little game altogether or maybe just keep it to yourselves. Overall, it was a nice condo but there was a decent amount of mold build up in the ac/water heater closet right next to the dining table. I understand the humidity around the beach must be difficult but someone should attempt to mediate that for future clients. Another item that made me uncomfortable was upon walking into our room, an envelope for money (tipping) was left on our bed from the staff. What exactly am I tipping for? I washed my own dishes. I swept the entire condo every day after ourselves. We made our own beds. I washed our towels, folded them and left them clean for you all. We took out our garbage. I simply cannot be expected to tip for simply renting a condo from your company after paying numerous fees INCLUDING a cleaning fee. My suggestion is for your company to better pay your staff so that your customers are not made to feel compelled to tip if the staff have not been needed. I am happy to discuss further. Everything was made very easy to follow. I had to cancel one listing and book another listing. Customer service was extremely polite and helped me through the process. I will continue to use RedAwning when booking my Hawaii vacations.
