Review summary
Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
48 hour service took 10 days then they lost my parcel
Asked for my package to be delivered to invergordon sorting office. When it finally arrived late I attempted to collect only to be told it was out for delivery. Never arrives. Next time I was told it was delivered to the post office for collection. No one really knew where it was and they didn't seem to care. I tried to use online complaints form and although all my details were correct this doesn't seem to work either. I will be avoiding using there service in the future
Customer Service extremely poor. Spoke with a very rude badly trained advisor. If I spoke to a customer like that at work I would be sacked disgraceful
I received a card telling me I had to pay £3.50 to get a package. I wasn't expecting anything so I was suspicious and rang them up. After a 40 minute wait!!! the receptionist said there was no information about the sender. If that's the case how do they know where to return it as I said I'm not prepared to pay for a package I'm not expecting. Just as importantly, how do they accept a package that hasn't been paid for? Total incompetence!! No wonder they're going downhill fast.
I don't often have a reason to visit the Post Office, but recently I needed to organise an International Driving Permit.
I visited our main Post Office in Bridlington (15-17 Quay Road) and found the staff extremely pleasant and helpful.
Worst company I have never dealt with, because there is no way of talking to a human being. If you ever get through to the possibility of that the message
you get is a 45 minute wait time
Just watched the documentary…you should be ashamed! I will never use the post office again! You should pay those poor people back double. Disgrace to the whole country. I say the government should set you adrift or take the reins.
I tried to send a recorded/signed for letter to Virgin Media (see my ongoing complaint). Having asked for a receipt for the £2.25 service of sending a letter and being sure it had arrived, I received no receipt, and pressed the matter. I was unable to obtain a receipt for the service purchased, though I asked for it for a number of minutes. In the end I did not want to hold the queue up, and left with only a 'proof of purchase', stating "This is not a receipt". Is the Post Office dodging tax?
Today, two days later, I received the letter back through my door, instead of it being sent to the recipient. I had marked the back of the envelope with "Return Address Only". This is the fourth time in two years that I've had recorded/signed for post returned to me for no reason other than that the Post Office/Royal Mail and staff seem unable to tell the front from the back of the envelope. Even if they can't read well, you'd think the average postie would know that the stamps and address go on the front, and the flap and return address go on the back. I've had post that was sent to Royal Mail returned to my house too. Perhaps, unwittingly, I live in the returns office, or in the Royal Mail complaints department?
All manner of spam and unsolicited post arrives though, despite my request for junk mail to be stopped.
Following the Mr Bates programme, I have been wanting to write a review but have been too angry to put my feelings into words. I'm still at that stage now really.
I'm currently watching a Panorama programme (BBCiPlayer) from 25th April 2022, and the true horrors make the Mr Bates drama look like a tea party in comparison.
The post office knew in 2010 that the system was likely to be to blame, but the post office bosses refused to investigate it as it would make all past and future convictions unsound. So they just ploughed on prosecuting people, in the full knowledge that the system was likely to be at fault.
There needs to be mass prison sentences for post office and Fujitsu staff, pensions stripped and fines running into the many hundreds of thousands of pounds placed on these evil monsters.
At least we're finding out who they are now, thanks to the inquiry.
