Review summary
P&O Cruises is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
It was just a lovely cruise. There was everything we wanted and being very much older, plenty of time to relax if needed. The staff are amazing, respectful and welcoming. The Baltic cities are wonderful sights and the talks by Dave Wright were inspirational and riveting. We went to every one. Loved every minute
What a beautiful ship, staff, food, drink, rooms the whole experience was memorable, my first cruise and a fantastic experience with great and beautiful locations visited in Norway.
Have recently returned from PO Britannia 10 anniversary cruise of the British Isles which we had been really looking forward to as it was visiting places we haven't been to before, although disappointed they cancelled our trip to Edinburgh. The cruise got off to a bad start for us it took nearly two hours from dropping our luggage off to actually get on to the ship (usually takes 20-30 mins) so was not happy it was exhausting and would have put of off if it was our first cruise. Luckily it all improved from then on and we had a fantastic and relaxing cruise. Food excellent and staff very friendly in particular Akrita and Stanley from the Meridan restaurant and Jenson our cabin steward. Britannia certainly pulled the stops out with the entertainment this cruise it was spectacular on deck and in theatre, you had to queue early to get a seat in theatre even though they did 3 shows a night it was full half an hour before show started. We did three shore excursions with PO and all where very good with knowledgeable guides on the coaches and the shuttle bus in other places was well organised. Sort the boarding out and back too 5 stars next time.
From start to finish and everything in between was great, cabin clean and large balcony, food on every level was good quality drinks priced reasonably as opted not to get the drinks package as we don't drink a lot of alcoholic drinks, the ports we visited were beautiful but did not do excursion's as too expensive but did the bus tours which were good Overall a good cruise but think a smaller boat will be our next cruise as Iona is very big
P&O are a wonderful example in efficient organisation and customer care. Everything from arrival at the airport to the termination of the cruise was carried out to the highest efficiency. The food was exceptional and plentiful with huge choices. The staff were highly organised, always smiling, polite, helpful, hard working and smartly turned out. We felt valued from start to finish. The entertainment was a bit 'Butlinesque' but accept it for what it is. The only criticism, although not of P&O, is that we found the excursion to the Fairytale Villages from Taranto very disappointing it was overcrowded and very difficult to follow the tour leader. All the other excursions were wonderful and extremely well organised. To run such a slick and demanding programme with so many people to cater for and move around just amazed us. I would highly recommend P&O to anyone contemplating a cruise holiday.
Just returned from our very first cruise. A trip on Britannia to Norway. A beautiful ship, amazing staff, great food and the most stunning locations. Definitely not our last cruise.
we were new to cruising we thoroughly enjoyed everything from the food which was plentiful loads of choice to staff which couldn't do enough for you
Entertainment varied for all tastes King Jam my absolute favourite and Alan in the Metropolis was great
shore experiences very good we did a few trips I would recommend the Taboggan in Madeira great fun
The captain was very funny on his daily announcements
We had a great 1st experience and am looking for our next Trip
on the whole our experience was very positive
Travelled on Iona from Southampton to the Norwegian Fjords . Exceeded our expectations cannot fault anything from our trip and excursions . Excellent value for the price.
First time reluctant cruisers here.......and now converted! Had a simply wonderful time onboard the IONA, excellent staff and facilities, the ship is beautiful and clean throughout. We were well fed, well entertained and well looked after. Saw some stunning scenery while visiting the Norwegian Fjords - highly recommend. Can't wait for our next voyage.
Amazing ship crew and food. This holiday was perfect in every way. Iona is beautiful. The staff are friendly and professional and so hardworking. Cannot fault a single thing
Had an amazing week on Iona to fjords. First ever cruise & wont be the last. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Food entertainment & especially the staff were awesome. Scenery was also out of this world. Well done to all. & thank you for our memories. ☺️
Me, my fiancée and 6 month old son went on the fabulous 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise. We were going to go on the same one around September time last year, but I was pregnant and fell into the bracket of too many weeks pregnant to not being able to cruise. Luckily, P&O Cruises customer services gave us back our deposit which we did not expect, they were also so friendly and helpful. With our 6 month old son joining us in the end, we had an amazing time and wished it was wayyyyyy longer. Our son kept smiling at everyone, especially in the lifts haha, the staff and other guests would say ‘Hi’ and talk to us, he was the main star of the show!
We only did one excursion as we weren’t too sure which ones were baby friendly with opportunities to breastfeed and if he would get upset during the experience, we did do one in Olden to the Briksdal Glacier, that was truly an experience to remember, we did the walk up to the glacier with a heavy pram whilst our boy was fast asleep the whole way up, it nearly killed us up the steep hills but we survived and it was worth the effort, staff were lovely and knowledgeable on this excursion.
Overall the cruise ship was beautiful, we especially loved the Crows Nest lounge/bar, Sindhu (recommend the lobster tail curry dish) and the glass house restaurant for its trio mains/desserts. We had a balcony cabin which we definitely recommend, the staff were fantastic and accommodating, just a 5 🌟 experience!
My first ever cruise at 67. I always said I would " rather stick pins in my eyes ". At long last my wife got her way and Iam so happy she did.
The Iona is a great ship. Slight downside is that it felt like being in the Trafford Centre but on the whole it was a great experience. I framed it in my mind as being a floating 5 star hotel with a different view every day. My wife booked a Mini Conservatory suite which was lovely with a few added nice touches.
The staff are amazing and evrything works on board.
I think I'm hooked
