Review summary
Paisley Freight has mixed reviews from customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and reliable, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.
Booked a collection. Was given a 2 hour expected collection time. Was in my garage getting it ready for collection. They rung my doorbell and 60 seconds later left. It takes me that to walk from my garage. After speaking to paisley freight the supervisor is rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend
I recently sent two bikes with them via their courier partner. I couldn't believe the damage that was inflicted to both bikes on separate occasions. I seen photos of the damage and I must admit it was shocking. The bikes where properly packed up in bike boxes with internal wrapping for more protection. I have sent bikes in the past with no problems until now. Both of these bikes where practically brand new as well. One of the pictures it looked like the box had been run over by a lorry? That was bad enough but what was really terrible was the lack of support and negative responses from them about trying to resolve this or indeed make a farcical claim through their so called insurance, it looked liked you had a form to fill in that asked everything from you which wasn't really all that relevant in my mind? My feeling is that this was to put you off claiming (maximum Β£100)? Anyway shocking service from them recently and would never use them again.
AVOID!!! I sent a large parcel and I made sure beforehand it was within the max. size as stated on the website. I then have been hit with a Β£20 fee as they claim the parcel is 2cm over sized, which is not true and I can back it up with photos of the box and a tape measure. They cannot provide any proof the parcel is over sized, but I have to pay the Β£20 fee just for them to be able to investigate further. What kind of scam is this?? Will not use again.
Top class service - great customer support on last minute collection date change. Prompt email response.
Great timing on collection and delivery process .
Sent two tyres taped together and got an additional charge of Β£25 as they should have been separate. Read the small guides when booking as they require things differently to other couriers.
Collection driver did not complain and did not say they should be single
Used twice now for sending mountain bikes. Service on both occasions have been exceptionally quick. Next day delivery from Scotland to England, one within 24 hours.
I'd give these charlatans five stars for delivering a bike from the Midlands to South London within a day but I'm giving them 1 star.
On the morning then bike was due to be delivered, they emailed me to say that the bike box was 2cm too long and because of that, I needed to pay them an additional Β£20 else they'd keep the bike delivery on hold.
I emailed them back to say it wasn't as I'd measured it myself. They replied that no, it was oversized and it was being kept by them until I paid the surcharge.
Checked the tracking to see that it still appeared to be out for delivery so decided not to pay, waited and eventually got a notification of delivery.
A quick look at other reviews and it appears that this is common behaviour from these scammers. Avoid.
Do not use, my box was 162cm i.e. 2cm over the limit and they charge me 20 quid. They absolve themselves of all responsibility of this by blaming DPD overnight so that you have no way to contest the charge. I measured the box to be fine. 2cm is nothing.
BIKE STOLEN from professional HARD CASE LOCKED bike box. We have been offered Β£100 compensation for a pro level racing bike worth Β£10,000.00 stolen on one single delivery date between York, England and Scone, Perth Scotland. The empty 'broken into' bike box case was delivered with the bike completely gone! PF said that we did not pack the bike as per their guidelines (they wanted us to buy their cardboard box) option and they refuse more than Β£100 liabilty.
In this day and age how is it possible with tracked vans, employees on books and one single delivery date from one city to another that a bike can be stolen from a bike courier service and they not know where or who took it or at least be offered a proper level of compensation? Even a kids second hand bike would be worth more than Β£100!
DO NOT USE! They will NOT PAY out but will ask you for every receipt a replacement invoice police report bike number - everything we provided and it was all a total waste of time. We have lost our beloved TREK Madone for good.
I used Paisley Freight to transport a bicycle purchased on ebay. There are mixed reviews around, but not many other companies offered the service of sending the packaging before-hand, so this was my only real choice for the money.
They provided a pick-up time period on the day for the seller, and a delivery time period on the day of delivery, all went by without a hitch. The delivery company was APC.
