Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted with a sign and taken to the office. The registration process took 10 minutes, after which we received the keys to the car. The car was clean with enough fuel. There were no problems during the use of the car, the car fully corresponded to the description. The car return process took no more than 5 minutes, after which the company representatives took us to the airport. We are satisfied. I recommend

Finger weg!!!!

Leider, war die Erfahrung mit MatCarRental die schlechteste, die wir je bei einer Autovermietung gemacht haben – und wir haben bereits viele Male gemietet. Zunächst wurde uns nicht das versprochene Fahrzeug übergeben. Uns wurde mitgeteilt, dass unser eigentlich gebuchtes Auto zwei Tage später nachgeliefert wird. Es kam zwar am nächsten Tag, aber wir hatten das erste Fahrzeug bereits halbgetankt zurückgegeben – im Gegenzug erhielten wir ein Auto mit deutlich weniger Tankfüllung. Dann stellten wir fest, dass sich die Türen des Fahrzeugs nicht richtig abschließen ließen – ein erhebliches Sicherheitsproblem. Als wäre das nicht genug, löste sich das Fenster auf der Fahrerseite komplett und ließ sich nicht mehr schließen. Wir mussten zunächst eine halbe Stunde warten, bis wir überhaupt an eine Werkstatt verwiesen wurden. Dann folgte eine 15-minütige Fahrt dorthin, gefolgt von einer zweistündigen Reparatur. Im Anschluss mussten wir nochmals 30 Minuten warten, bis die Kostenübernahme per Überweisung geklärt war. Der absolute Höhepunkt war dann die Aussage seitens MatCarRental, dass wir beweisen sollten, dass der Schaden nicht durch uns verursacht wurde – eine absurde Unterstellung nach all den Problemen mit ihren Fahrzeugen. Diese Erfahrung war nicht nur ärgerlich, sondern auch extrem zeitaufwendig und frustrierend. Wir hoffen, dass MatCarRental solche Missstände künftig ernst nimmt und seine Servicequalität dringend verbessert.

They charged me extra €20/day, what was €160,00 extra for me for omium insurance will i ordered it through discover cars web site: pure gangster practice. Nobody speaks english or they do not to understand you. Never again

Best to book your rental somewhere else

I would strongly recommend not to rent with this company. They are pushy in selling their insurance even when you decline politely and tell them you have one. Furthermore they charged me 3000 lira for tol. That would be 1000 lira a day when one of the day’s I didn’t even use a tol road. When I asked them for some form of proof they act like they don’t understand you and say that the receipt will suffice.

This company is a scam company

Update: The company contacted me on 1 Apr and tried to get me to remove this review. Worst still, they are trying to refund only around 1/2 of what I'm owed for a refund. After I explained to them again why they owed me 3830 TL, they simply ghosted, again. A total shameless company. This company don't even deserve a single star. To be frank their management should be jailed for running a scam scheme. Rented a car from them for 9 days. The car they provided seem ok for a while and check engine light came out after normal drive to Edremit. Contacted them via whatsapp, and they asked me to not drive the car and they will send someone next day to check it. The following day trying to get an update again they kept on ghosting me. After calling their general line only they willing to send another vehicle. They promised to refund the 2 days that I'm unable to drive the vehicle. The worst nightmare is when returning the vehicle, they told me my HGS is 6500TL for journey from Istanbul to Edremit and back. In reality is only 2979TL, even with their overpriced 40% admin fees they take, it's only 4170TL. Minus the refund they promised which is around 2370TL they are entitled to charge me. The excuse they gave when I asked for itemized toll transaction they told me the latest one it's not in the systems yet so it's manually calculated and they will provide it next day. Guess what, they did not send it, only 2 days later I pushed them, they only send me the details which confirmed my suspicion they overcharged me. I demanded they refund me the difference (4130TL) but I'm willing to settle with refund of 3830TL out of goodwill. They asked for my IBAN but never to reply my message again, nor acknowledge. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS ILLEGAL SCAMMING COMPANY, PERIOD!

Excellent Experience

I had an excellent experience with Matcarrental and would highly recommend them. I have rented a car from them three times now, and all my experiences were flawless. During my second rental, I had the car for a longer period, and everything went perfectly. I’d like to especially thank Berkant for outstanding service. He was extremely professional, polite, and helpful, making the entire process smooth and pleasant. The cars I rented were in excellent condition and very clean, which added to my overall satisfaction. I will definitely choose Matcarrental again whenever I need a car in Bodrum.

Winter ride

Perfect car. Nice service. It was on summer tyres so it was a bit nervious then temperature was near to 0° and snow on the road side. Matcar, please think about that.

Matcar is one of the best Turkish car rental company

I have dealt with MATCAR company several times over the past two years. All of them were excellent. Dealing with the Kurtkoy office is nice, Since I arrived at Sabiha Airport and sent a message to the office, they came to pick me up from the airport. The procedures for receiving the car are easy and the car is new and clean. The procedures for delivering the car and taking me to the airport are also excellent. For me, Matcar is one of the best Turkish car rental company I have dealt with.

Thank you for the quality of the service

Thank you for the quality of the service, I usually rent from elitcar but this time I tested the matcar service because their prices were more competitive... The reception at the airport was quick by a driver, the vehicle was perfect and there was enough gas to be able to go home... On the way back the vehicle return procedure was very quick and I was surprised because a couple who came to return their car at the same time as me had had a problem with a motorcycle hitting their car and they were not bothered for long because of that, the verification procedure took the same time as for me... We then all went to the airport together by shuttle... I am satisfied and will rent from them again next time because they have the best prices.

Mat is reputable but be careful

After reading the reviews here I rented a car from them at Istanbul SG airport. I was a little concerned because they pushed very hard to buy their insurance which was covered by my credit card and then they said my credit card insurance would not be applicable which is not true because my credit card ensures me Not the rental company. After talking to the boss they decided to accept my credit card so be a little careful about this and understand whether you are covered by your own insurance. The car was somewhat damaged but I took extensive photos, more than they did, and it was a good thing I did. One photo showed the license plate frame was broken but I didn't notice since I thought the license plate was fixed to the car, not just the frame. Two days later in one town with a bumpy road the license plate fell out and I saw that the frame was broken and the hotel people were very nice and looked around town for the license plate but couldn't find it. So I went to the police and they were very nice, finally calling the rental company, confirming with traffic police and then telling me to continue my trip that it was not a big problem. I was questioned by traffic police about seven times during my one month trip but they let me proceed understanding I was just a tourist and not really responsible for the ownership of the car. But it made me a little bit concerned every time I was stopped by the police at checkpoints. When I returned the car they noticed the number plate was gone and they told me to pay for it which I refused because I had a photo showing the frame was damaged before I got in the car. They claimed my photo was not correct and that nobody had ever contacted the company which was not true and so I insisted to talk with the manager. Finally it became an issue that they did not want to talk to the manager so they agreed not to charge me for the license plate which obviously was completely their problem. I also had to change the battery in the remote key since it ran out of power on my second day as well, luckily when the door was unlocked so I was able to get in and drive the car someplace I could get a new battery. So, summing up, this company did not charge a deposit which would've been a more serious discussion if they insisted on keeping some of the deposit money to pay for the license plate. They also didn't want to bother checking with management about the problem so the car rental was not expensive. But I will say about the service it is definitely not five star in attitude which was a little disconcerting. But it didn't cost me any money. The car had some damage Which bothered me a little bit because this indicates they are not really all that good about taking care of details. But I got through my trip and for the price I paid I guess you just have to put up with the small issues. I encourage anybody if they are renting a car to take extremely extensive photos before even getting in the car, many more than even I took. In some countries I have had problems with rental companies claiming I damaged the car or motorcycle which was not true and in the end having to pay some money to a very disreputable company. But I think in the end Mat is a reputable company and I would rent from them again but I would be much more careful about previous damage done to the car and checking a little bit more carefully. One thing I did not like and I really resent from rental car companies, when I got in the car there was only enough gas to get to a local gas station. When I returned the car it was almost half full which was my bad calculation. And of course the rental company made money from that since they could use that gas. This is a trick that many rental companies use just to make a little bit of money and I find very distasteful.

Not recommended – poor service and unreliable billing

We reserved a Hyundai i20 but were given a Renault Clio instead. The car had summer tires instead of all-weather tires, which was completely unsuitable for changing weather conditions. The service was terrible—unfriendly, unhelpful, and unprofessional. The worst part was the toll fee billing. Instead of providing a transparent breakdown, they simply estimated a random amount—first 1300 TL, then “negotiated” it down to 900 TL. This is completely unacceptable! It’s also worth noting that the company heavily advertises through bloggers and influencers on Instagram—don’t fall for it! You’re better off renting your car elsewhere.

Der Schlimmste Autovermietung was ich…

Der Schlimmste Autovermietung was ich je gesehen habe. Ich hatte ein Auto gebucht ganz normal am Flughafen Sabiha gökchen in Istanbul, als ich dann kam um das Auto abzuholen wurde mir gesagt dass das Auto durch ein Türdefekt ins Werkstatt musste und ich 30 Minuten bis maximal 2 Stunden warten kann , und mein Auto wäre dann Auslieferungsbereit. Und in die Zwischenzeit haben die mir ein anderes Auto gegeben womit ich bis zu zwei Stunden nutzen kann irgendwo essen fahren kann oder sonst was. Nach 2 Stunden Wartezeit habe ich bei die Vermietung angerufen und gefragt ob mein gebuchtes Auto abholbereit ist. Mir wurde mitgeteilt dass es irgendwelche Komplikationen aufgetreten sind bei die Reparatur und ich noch Maximal zwei Stunden warten soll. Habe ich auch akzeptiert egal. Der Tag war schon fast deswegen Rum. Nach diese 2 Stunden bin ich hin gefahren um zu sagen , entweder kriege ich jetzt mein gebuchtes Auto, das war übrigens ein 8 Sitzer Bus, einzige Bus was die Firma hatte, oder geben sie mir mein Geld zurück und fahren sie mich in meiner Hotel. Mir wurde gesagt dass das Auto heute überhaupt nicht fertig sein wird und dass ich mein Geld zurück bekomme, aber niemand wird mich ins Hotel fahren. Ich die Mitarbeiter der Vermietung gefragt, warum haben die das so ekelhaft gemacht, ich habe den ganzen Tag hier auf mein Auto gewartet mit stets gleiche bitte warten sie noch und warten sie noch , umsonst mein Zeit verschwendet und mir stets unnötige Hoffnung geben und am Ende, Sorry sie kriegen kein Auto, das Auto hat mehrere Probleme als nur ein Tür. Also reine Katastrophe. Inkompetent, unhöflich, niemand versteht Englisch, musste mit Google Übersetzer mit die Leute kommunizieren. Wahnsinn. Ich rate alle von diese Autovermietung ab, die ihre Zeit und Nerven schätzen. Matcar Rental, nie wieder.
