I wish I could give Joann’s no stars!

My first order from Joann’s, 16 skeins of Paton’s Natural Mix Worsted Wool, arrived in 2 shipments. The first shipment had 6 skeins of the color I wanted—and the color shown on the website. The second shipment had 10 yarns that were a completely different color. On Friday morning, the 13th of December, I called Joann’s customer service, explained the problem, and told the representative that I was leaving for the UK on Monday, the 16th of December, and would be abroad for almost 3 months. I needed the replacement yarn as soon as possible because I’d already started my project with the 6 skeins of the color I’d wanted, and planned to finish it in time for Christmas in the UK. We spent about 15 minutes on the phone—she put me on hold a couple of times while she spoke to a manager. She told me she could expedite the shipping of the replacement yarn, and I would have it on either the 14th or the 15th of December. I questioned this because it was the weekend, and she promised that it would be here by Sunday the 15th at the latest. A couple of hours later I received a message from Joann’s that the order had shipped. Though the message did say that the order wouldn’t arrive until Tuesday the 17th, and the tracking showed that Fedex had not yet picked it up, I wasn’t worried because the representative had promised me I’d receive it on time. On Saturday morning, the 14th of December, I checked the tracking status, and Fedex had still not picked up the package. I called Joann’s customer service again, and spoke to a man who told me there was no way a package would arrive on a Saturday or a Sunday if it had been ordered that Friday. I explained my predicament: that I’d be out of the country when the package arrived, and it would sit on my front steps for almost 3 months. He said he’d talk to the order department, and see if they could get the package to me before I left on Monday, and if not they’d cancel the order. He said he’d call me back and let me know something that afternoon. He never called back. That afternoon I emailed Joann’s to cancel the order, and in the email detailed my terrible customer service experience. It is now the 18th of December, and the yarn has just arrived on my doorstep—in the US! And I’m in the UK.

I bought 4 battery powered candle…

I bought 4 battery powered candle sticks at the Jo-Ann store in Allen Park, MI. They did not work at all. Two separate packages and not a one of them worked. My husband had tossed the packaging out assuming they would work. I had my receipt and took them back to the store. They would not refund me, give me a credit or anything! The managers, Terrie and Cheryl, were relentless and rude to me and offered no compromise. My purchase was a total loss for me. I paid for faulty products and got no restitution. DO NOT SHOP AT JO-ANN THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR STORE AND DO NOT TRY TO ACCOMODATE THE CUSTOMER IN ANY WAY!!!!!

I wish I had read reviews

I wish I had read reviews. I normally shop in store, but both stores are over an hour away, and I was not going to drive for fabric. I placed an order on December 2, 2019. Four fabrics. 9 yds of 108" flannel arrived from one location in a 5 and 4 yd. cut. I'm making sheets for a split king bed and they have to be in 3 yd increments. Then when I unfolded to measure, there is a huge tear in the middle of one of the cuts.6 yds for coat lining. That is in a 4 and 2 cut. 3 yds of flannel for a nightgown. That came in 2 and 1. 3 yd cut-came as a 3 yd. cut. That in and of itself is utterly ridiculous! Buying fabric generally requires one length. And now I will have to return it to the store which I didn't want to drive to in the first place. Not to mention that the fabrics are not available at my store. So a total waste of time and money. Money??? Right, hold the order amount and then place individual charges for each box that ships. AND since I used my paypal account for payment, I can only be given a JoAnn gift card as my reimbursement! 10 days later and I still don't have all the fabric. The last box hasn't been updated since the 10th and may never show up. In store, I have always had a pleasant experience. Online is absolutely the most horrid, abysmal process ever. Never ever again.

Joanne Fabrics has very poor customer service.

Joanne Fabrics has very poor customer service. Also, Joanne Fabrics will not allow a review to be posted on their site. I purchased online and clearly marked to be picked up at store. Someone decided to ship it to my home with a delivery date of 6 to 10 business days later. I was to receive a response within 23 to 48 hours, I still have not received a response from them. Also when I asked that they replace the order that they messed up, with a pick-up at the store, they would not give me the same sale price.

The store is a rip off.

I kept getting coupons on my phone so I said today I will go to Joannes to purchase something. My purchase came to over $50.00 dollars and when I went to my phone to get the coupon it did not come up (the store clerk rushed me) on my phone. The store are so overpriced that the only way you could shop is with coupons. I will never go to a Joannes again I’ll go to target which is now getting a nice sewing section for a quarter of the price, or shop online. I do not recommend Joannes at all and I’ll never go back. No more a customer who sent thousands there. from Boynton Beach Florida

Beware of online purchases

Beware, DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. Not only do they take almost three times as long as any other retailer to get your product to you, if they don't have the amount of the product in stock, you aren't told until you've paid for what you wanted and the order is sent for processing. You receive an email that instead of the quantity you need, they sent what they have and, by the way, you cannot cancel the order but can instead take to a store what you finally receive in three weeks. For those of us who live 1-1/2 hours from the nearest Joann, that's very costly and unhelpful. Then they had the audacity to send me an email asking how was my online experience. I replied and told them what were the problems I have. They said a customer service rep. would be contacting me. A week later I received an email asking how was my experience with the customer service rep. Oh, you mean the one THAT NEVER CONTACTED ME? Over a month later, I still haven't been contacted by that representative. This company needs a serious overhaul of the online experience for customers. I checked the "Let Jo-Ann Stores know" box below but am not holding my breath.

Can NEVER cancel an order even if they delete part of your order

If you order sometime on-line at Joann's and they cancel the order because they don't have the product (an order I placed less than 12 hours ago and is still being "packed"), you can't cancel the order. You'll still have to pay for shipping and the rest of the goods (which in this case I don't need since they all were necessary for my project). You'll then have to call to get shipping refunded and then drive to the post office or to the store (not near me, in this case) to get refunded. So, if you order on-line you can NEVER cancel an order. What type of service is that in this day of technology? I will NEVER shop here again.

Not honoring your sale discounts

I was in the Carlisle store yesterday and found a item for 70%, and there were other items on the shelf! Well, your clerk said it wasn't 70% and I had her walk over to see the sign and she said it was 60% off the regular price!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I had worked in retail and if items are with a sign you would get it for that discount !!!!!!!!!!!!!! This clerk made sure she checked me out!!!!!!!!!!! Wasn't a happy camper..... Sue Newman

BUYER BEWARE when placing an online…

BUYER BEWARE when placing an online order. Be prepared that if you place an online order, and the company cancels it, your money will not be replaced for 5 days! I’m unsure how an “authorization” as they call it (it’s a charge) cannot be reversed at the time that the order was cancelled ON THEIR END! This is the 3rd time this has happened and I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM JOANN’s AGAIN, NEVER EVER!

Here is a warning my friends

Here is a warning my friends. I thought I would be a pinteresty mom and make some of those fleece tie not blankets. Mainly because I have one and LOVE it. So I was doing all my kids plus the girlfriends too. I priced fabric for sometime and then Joann.com had a sale that I could not beat. Time to order all this fabric. HORRIBLE decision on my part using Joann.com. So I placed an order than included many, many yards of fleece in different colors and designs. The total was $248.81. So I ordered on 11/9, the last day of their sale. A few days later, when I checked my bank account, I became concerned. I saw the charge on 11/9 from joann.com for $248.81...but then I saw more charges from Joann.com. I am not a crafty person. I made one order and one order only. I immediate became concerned when I saw that on 11/12 I had charges for $9.51 and $122.46 from Joann.com. and then on 11/13 another charge for $60.99 and $25.35 from joann.com. I freaked out. Clearly someone had stole my info and was on a crafting binge! I immediately went to the website and there was NO CUSTOMER SERVICE phone number. The only way to contact was email...I sent the email but when it said it would take 24-48hrs to respond, I was not okay with that. I called the closest store in Big Rapids and they could not help since it was an online order. I finally have to Google "customer service number for joann.com and after the second try I reach the real customer service number. I speak to a customer service agent and they tell me the original charge for my purchase of $248.81 is just a hold on the funds in my account. And then as each item or items ships, they will charge me and once all items have shipped, the original $248.81 hold will be removed. So $248.81 was put on hold on my card while they waited and made multiple charges to my account as everything shipped. So I basically was charged $500 instead of the original $248. I literally shop online ALL THE TIME. I have never heard of this practice and they cause me many fees from my bank. And I am at a loss why they just couldn't charge me the full amount instead of the "hold" and ship it. I placed the order on 11/9. A hold for the full amount was taken from my account while the slowly charged me for each purchase. The hold finally left my account today as the last $30.99 was charged. I shop online all the time...like daily. I have never had this happen and this is honestly the most ridiculous process I have ever heard of. I will NEVER shop joann.com or in their store no matter how pinteresty I become. What an absolute hassle and rip off.

HORRIBLE!

HORRIBLE!! Fabric may be FINE,if/when you get it. But I ordered 2 orders in a week, totalling $70. They've authorized $143 on my debit card, as they shipped partial orders, cancelled others just because they ran out of fabric, and even sent 1 pkg with 2 yards in it,instead of 10 diff fabrics. SO livid. Get it together,or get out of online ordering.

Second and last time I am ordering…

Second and last time I am ordering anything I got an email on 11/1 confirming shipment with delivery estimated tomorrow, 11/5. I checked the tracking number today, 11/4 and nothing has shipped. I have been on the phone over 1/2 hour and they can't find the shipment and apparently can't find a supervisor or manager to help with this. I paid almost $70 for expedited shipping. There couldn't be worse service. I had to give them one star but they don't even deserve that. I am not entirely sure how they could make this gross of an error.

I wouldn't even give 1 star

I wouldn't even give 1 star. I ordered $44 in yarn, tried applying promo code for free shipping over$25, and was still charged $7.99. Customer service said promo code was for "fabric" but I saw nothing stating that. Never buying online with them again.

Jo Ann’s in Piqua

Jo Ann’s in Piqua, OH... Love the store, had a very rude employee named Sarah. Told my mom and I, “we had to be cut off” and wasn’t allowed to get any more fabric because there were “too” many people in line behind us. There was 1 person and another employee came up to help them so there was no worries. She was super rude and “huffed” at us a few times. We just wanted 1/4 of a yard of 4 different fabrics. Hopefully the next time we come back, she won’t be there. Had no idea we were “limited” and needed to be “cut off” from the amount of fabric we needed.

The Jo-Ann store in maplewood mall had…

The Jo-Ann store near Maplewood mall had poor customer service. I called to ask someone if there are any good Christmas deals for this week since hobby lobby had good deals as well. The lady who answers the phone basically told me, "Why don't you come in and check out for yourself or check online. I have a line here and I don't have time to talk to you about that." Ok, I understand you have a line, but at least if you don't know, tell me you have no idea about store deals and that you can transfer me to someone who can answer me. Her voice also sounds very unkind on the phone as well. I don't know if I like going there anymore. Jo-Ann needs to train their staff well to handle phone calls.
