The chocolate is no longer the same quality: it tastes cheap but at a luxury price. Unlikely to buy again. It seems sadly you can't have quality and chase a large market share.

4 packets of my velvetiser sachets the assorted packets have a best by date of next month as a pensioner living alone it is a lot to use up. chocolate itself is first class

Repeat order, arrived as promised, delivered by Amazon. As always, everything just as it should be. Looking forward to opening our box of treats!

I would give 5 stars for the prompt delivery and the quality of the chocolates. However, the delivery driver left the box at my front door and scuttled off across the road to deliver another parcel. Luckily, I had just returned from a morning out and picked the box up immediately. I pointed out to the courier that the label on the box said not to leave in direct sunlight (which he had). I was told he didn't have time to read everything on his deliveries as he had 300/day to get through. This is Amazon's problem. And it's not the first time this has happened as I have a standing request that all deliveries be left at the back door, out of the sun and away from prying eyes - but it all depends on who the courier is. Some comply, some don't
received my hot chocolate today with nice long use by dates as usual thank you have taken one star off as amazon left the parcel on the front step even though i was in not ideal with chocolate as weather very warm at the moment
Ordered the new latte sachets from hotel choclat. I’m fussy with machine coffees as I often don’t like the taste but the latte ones are so smooth and I’d really recommend.
As ever, the chocolates themselves are utterly delicious and completely justify my fortnightly purchases! However, as most companies are, the delivery process is very hit & miss. A month ago Royal Mail left my order on somebody else’s doorstep and then lied about their actions. It was only due to luck and good neighbours that I eventually found it. Then, this time Amazon left the box in full, direct, hot sunshine despite the label on the box asking them not to! But at least it was at the right house this time and I was home and saw him arrive!
Rebecca at the Harrogate branch was absolutely lovely. First time I’ve had coffee at the shop and I’ll definitely return. The service, friendly advice and professionalism was perfect. It’s unusual to find such an enthusiastic assistant. She also recommended various chocolates and gave me informative advice.
Totally melted! Delivery driver left it at front door in full sunshine and so both boxes were totally melted! It did have a label on the box to say not to leave it in direct sunlight. Previously they left it in the food recycling bin with the rotting food sludge! Hotel Chocolat need to sort their couriers or I won't be using them again. Update- Hotel Chocolat have given me a gift voucher to compensate for the melted chocolates as the boxes I ordered are no longer in stock. Hopefully we'll have more success with the next order! Update- too much to hope for, melted mess again! They are refunding a few quid back this time which is the extra bit I paid for on top of the gift card from last week's slop!

I bought your birthday chocolates selection for my sister. They were very popular and only lasted the day! (Bigger box next year?). She had not tried Hotel Chocolat before, and seemed delighted with them. Lots of emails letting me know their delivery progress! Delivered on her birthday. Perfect!
The delivery service is poor. Nine days from order to d3livery is really second rate.

No notice on box not to leave in direct sunlight so, as I was out, it was left in full sun on my patio table. Thankfully, it wasn't there long and the chocolate hadn't started to melt.

We were informed of the tracking time (3.27) and made a point of being in all afternoon. Our door bell was never rung and our chocolate order was left in full sun on a hot afternoon (Friday)
An order was placed online and the incorrect address was selected from the address book. As this came to light we contacted this company who we have been customers of for over 20 years. The initial contact was with a very helpful agent who advised us to get the sender to email them with permission to allow us to discuss what, if anything we could do. Whilst nothing was promised it gave us hope that some goodwill gesture might occur. After three abortive attempts to discuss this our final agent was dismissive and refused to engage or show any empathy, offering free delivery as compensation. We fully accept the sender was careless, however the first contact was creating the impression that there was a possibility of a good outcome. Instead of which a week wasted in vain. This is a very poor reflection on a previously high level of service.

Be careful if you order online. I ordered 12 bottles of salted caramel cocoa liquor to be picked up in Edinburgh St. James Crescent. When I picked it up May 3rd it was in a large, sealed box which certainly looked like it held 12 bottle. When I got home from Holiday and opened it, there was one small box of 6 bottles; not the 12 I ordered. Since I don't live in the UK, I cannot have the other 6 bottles shipped.
I have always had a wonderful experience with my previous orders which had been delivered by Royal Mail. This time it’s been disastrous. I ordered my chocolates over the May bank holiday. I paid for next day delivery so that I would receive them 07/05/2025. I received an email from Hotel Chocolat so went to track my package. There was a message from Amazon Shipping stating that the estimated delivery was 08/05/2025!! I tried to reschedule as I wouldn’t be at home and add some delivery instructions. I wasn’t able to do this as I got a message stating that you couldn’t change anything with this package. Tried to put in the Hotel Chocolat order number and the number on the Amazon page- the message I got was that it had not been recognized. Today, 08/05/2025, my package was meant to be delivered between 3:30pm-6:30pm. This was later pushed back to 6pm-8pm. At 8:30pm I wondered where my order was and looked to see if it had been delayed. I was so shocked to see that it had been delivered. No-one had knocked so I went to the front of my house to see if it had been left at the front door. No package so I looked around and couldn’t locate it. Amazon Shipping had not sent a photo so I couldn’t see if I could recognize where the package had been left. I went and asked my neighbors but nothing had been delivered to them. I’m so disappointed and will always shop in store in future if Amazon Shipping are going to be the couriers.
The chocolate is, as always, fantastic. Using Royal Mail instead of Amazon was the icing on the cake!
