I tried to use a printed gift card and was told that their system was so new it couldn't handle it. Honest!!!! Last time nobody knew how to use a Visa gift card. My last visit to the Smiths Falls store and probably Home Hardware.

Swift current home hardware is a joke do not special order anything you need. Ordered a maax afr nomad rh drain ALCOVE bathtub waited 5 days for it only to have them get me a corner tub wasted my time and my Contractors time for him to come install this tub. Do not recommend ordering anything through swift current home hardware. Waste of time and effort.

Bought a new lawnmower from home hardware cut the grass once and gas was leaking out of the carburetor. Took it back because it was only a week old and they said it had to go in for repair wouldn't give e us a new one. After a week finally got it back so buyer be ware

On Monday, March 6th, I went to Home Hardware on Seymour St in North Bay.  I wanted to pick up a sheet of 3/4" white melamine and a sheet of 1/2" white melamine.  I went to talk to the manager-Paul to tell him that I was suffering from anxiety.  I told him it was up to a 10 and to see if they can get my lumber cut.  The manager at Home Hardware told me the only way that they could cut white melamine is on their tablesaw and that the employee would have to cut it and they would probably charge me extra for the cutting of the material I wanted.  I told the manager that you don't have to cut it on the tablesaw and that you can cut it on a panel saw oversized and I can cut it at home on my tablesaw and have no problem with any chips sticking out of it.  The manager at Home Hardware got really upset with me.  I think he got upset with me because I told him of another way you can cut the material.  He started yelling at me to get out of his store and don't come back.  After him yelling at me, I did start yelling back at him.  There was quite a few words exchanged between the manager-Paul and I.  I don't believe as a manager that the manager should be acting like that at all.  If he is having a bad day, he should not be taking it out on customers.  I often wondered what would happen if he had an employee who came to him and questioned him, if he would've freaked out on that employee who could be suffering from mental health.  I did go to another lumberyard and had my material cut oversized for me at NO EXTRA cost and no waiting.   I feel that the reaction from Paul that day lead to me calling Head Office and speaking with Val, a Customer Service Representative, daily since that day with no results.  Val has tried contacting Paul daily but he won't respond to her calls.  He won't talk to her on the phone.  I am seeking an apology from Paul for how he treated me and for reimbursement for the cost of gas to go to another lumberyard in Sudbury, Ontario.   Gary

I live in Chatham Ontario. We have two home hardware stores. The newest store being just up the street from my home on grand ave. This became our number one hardware store which we have spent a lot of money at. Staff are friendly store is bright organized and clean. Now this is where as a customer I am extremely upset. I stopped into the store on keil st I was looking for individual k-cups ( I once bought them at a store in Guelph) I was told they only sell boxes of them.I found them seen that all the different kinds where 24 to a box and ALL were priced at $17.50. I decided to go to the Grand Ave store on my way home and buy them. I walked in was greeted politely the display is located right at the cash. When I looked their pricing was 19.99 for the same box that was 17.50 just a few miles away! Not to mention the other kinds all varied in price. I mentioned it to the young lady at the cash she nicely told to go over to the customer service counter and they would help me. I went over and seen Paul a man that has helped me a few times before with finding things. I explained to him about the pricing discrepancy and asked why. He went on the computer to check. Here is another strange thing on the computer they only show boxes of 12.. strange as both stores only sell boxes of 24 but that’s not my issue. He basically told me they weren’t in the computer tried to explain that maybe the other store got them from a different supplier. The difference was 2.49 all I wanted was for him to honour the lower price. I even asked him if he wanted me to call the other store. Nope to Paul the computer was the one that would dictate the price. In all honesty I really don’t care about 2.49 it’s the principle of the matter. Two home hardware stores in a small town with completely different prices. I chose to give my business to the Grand Ave store that day. Two days later I went to the Keil store just to prove I was correct and took a picture. Went back to see Paul politely showed him the picture with the price. Told him I didn’t care about the money it was the fact he didn’t believe me, showed no interest in customer service . The only thing he said was”I am sorry” Well Paul you just lost a customer and if you continue to treat customers that way there will be more. As I said “word of mouth goes along way.” This is something I have never done before. I have never been treated that way in a store before. In this day and age with inflation skyrocketing and consumers watching their money your store can not afford to lose customers over $2.49. Very Sad.

After seeing a slew of ads saying that Home Hardware is the place to go to get help getting my home improvements done I gave them a call. I have several things that need doing. The person who ansewred said I made a mistake calling them, call someone else. Wow. I still see the ads running and emailed head office asking why they advertise a service they don't provide. They referred me back to the local store i had dealt with and went through the story only to be told they don't understand the issue or what it is I want. Wow. Willfully ignorant. Anyone know where i can get new kitchen cabinet doors, countertops and laminate floors?

I have visited Home Harware in Streetsville Mississauga quite a few times , the staff are super friendly and helpful. Great place to buy stuff.

Everything is always out of stock and its just such a hassle to get anything ordered. Employee's are good, its just every time I visit the store the items I need are out of stock and I end up taking my business elsewhere online. Out of the 10-12 times I've been in-store I've found an item I needed once.

As most home hardware stores don't swap between themselves (I should deduct a couple of stars for that) I had to go to an out of town store to get what I wanted. Shannon, at Fletcher's Home Hardware in Princeton B.C. arranged shipping for me (a heavy pump), and even called to make sure I got it in good order. Better service you couldn't ask for, thank you.

Todd At the homehardware in Preston Cambridge is awesome. I’m a very seasoned millwright, but he blew me away with his great knowledge of plumbing fixtures. The staff there has always been great, and helpful. I find myself going there first, instead of the box stores. Don’t have to walk a mile to get something either. Try it ,you will like it.

I am almost never disapointed when I shop for hardware items at the Nanaimo BC Hardware. For example today I needed a very unusual plumbing fitting that I did not think I would be able to get so I asked Wayne for assistance and he very quickly located the exact item in the very well stocked plumbing department.

Went to Home Hardware at Adelaide and Huron in London this morning to buy some salt. Struggled to get 2 bags to the cashier. After ringing me through the very nice and polite cashier asked if I would like help taking purchase to my car. I agreed. She paged a representative to front for a "Carry out". We waited. She then paged asking for help with a "Carry out" again. We waited longer. I carried one bag to my truck, 5 parking spaces from store front. I went back into store to retrieve my second bag. As I was leaving a fairly young, fat, man sauntered slowly toward to check out. I shot him a dirty look and proceeded out the door. I am a senior citizen with physical and health issues. I was NOT impressed. The nice young girl at the check out was polite and considerate. She offered to carry the bags out. Being an older man that is not the way we do things. Will I return to this store? Not sure. It is hit and miss with this store if you will receive good customer service. The owner is fantastic, his staff yes and no.

This is a letter I wrote the manager and didn't even get a response. November 26, 2021 Dear Mr. Moquin, We used to love going to Home Hardware, mostly because it is a Canadian store and the staff is usually friendly and helpful. We purchased 6 boxes of vinyl plank flooring for our porch on Nov 5/21 which cost $449.38. Unfortunately we were one board short. My husband went to your store to ask if he could purchase 1 board from the open box on display. He was told no even when he asked to speak to the manager. It wasn’t like we were asking him to open a new box as this box was open and actually one of the boards was damaged so couldn’t be sold as a whole box. We were very disappointed that we had to purchase a new box at the cost of $74.90 for just one board. Not very good customer service and therefore we will not be shopping in your store again. Won't issue a refund for order they cancelled because they could not fulfill the order.

Unreliable service for snowblower repair. Called & set up time to have snowblower picked up. Made a special trip from cottage to have snowblower ready to go. They were a no show and did not call to say they couldn't do it. Called and was told it would be next day which didn't work for me. Very unreliable.

I ordered my item online and been waiting over a month. Send 3 emails but received only automated system answers. Finally went to the store and found my order been canceled without any notifications, but money been fully charged. Last time I purchased from Home hardware.

We have purchased a lot of product from this store over the years. We are firm believers in shopping locally, and the owner and employees in that store are great. With Covid, it had become necessary to shop and order on line if possible, and ‘If possible’ is the key term here. They have no app, and the on line shopping site is a nightmare. It never was good, but now it just keeps jumping to “choose your store” ….. After choosing, it keeps flipping back to the same thing…it’s stuck in a loop, and is completely useless. I couldn’t even complain on the site….it kept flipping back to “choose your store”… We recently spent many hundreds elsewhere because of this. We like to shop and compare, and of course the ease of purchasing is huge. If they don’t create a decent on-line shopping app, Home Hardware is destined to die, and that would be just plain sad.

I ordered a reel lawn mower and ended up waiting almost two weeks for it to arrive. I managed to source one elsewhere in the meantime with next day delivery so planned to cancel the order for a refund. When I went to do so I was told the order had been collected! Turns out that the store handed the order to my neighbour, WITHOUT my permission and has billed me! So now I’m out the money, don’t have the item and the whole time fighting to get MY money back I’m being treated like I’m trying to commit fraud! What’s the point in having processes in place such as requiring ID if you’re just going to hand my order to the first person that knows my name? I no longer trust this company and will never return to any of its stores. The fact that this has happened in the first place is bad enough but to argue even when there’s someone else’s signature on the collection, NOT mine is absolutely unacceptable. I should not be penalized for one of your staff members making this mistake and the fact they’re keeping my money is out right theft.

Very disappointed with the Bayfield Store in Barrie. Phoned the manager on three different days, left a message each day. The manager never returned my calls. And when I finally received my e-mail to say my order was ready for pick up. They were not very friendly when I collected my order. Will never deal with this store again. I will use Minet's Point Store instead

They don't really care if you get item defective or damaged.it's better I buy it from dollarama both don't care about damaged product but at least dollarama is cheap in price compared to home hardware.
