Bought some festoon lights for outside, they were installed correctly, however they only lasted 3 weeks.

Don’t order online from this company! Ordered for the first and very last time, and online item which apparently can take two weeks to arrive!, and it’s for a Xmas present! Emailed them to ask for a refund, and get an automated message saying they can’t do this, as their processing tine is very quick, and my orders already being picked, what a joke ! Then send an email asking for a refund or I will contact trading standards or my bank!, now magically my order has been dispatched, but when checking the Evri link, it still says they are expecting it! I believe this is purely done to make you think you are receiving it soon, and to not issue a refund
All I got from this company on line was automated messages that didn’t answer my questions at all , my order was delayed but no body let me know . I asked to speak to a human but again an automated message was sent . Once this company has your money you get no help , the people in the store are so rude and unhelpful . Would never ever buy from this company again once was enough . I worked in retail for 30 years and have never ever had such bad service worst customer service ever
Absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced with a company.ordered several goods online only for them to turn up late and the box damaged and the contents missing and broken. Literally nothing in the box and no refund no reply nothing
I placed an order for 54 items on 2.12.24 for over £160. To this day, I have not received proof of order or purchase. The money was taken from my account within 48 hours. I received 11 items a week later. On 15 December I received all but 1 of the remaining items, most of which were smashed or severely damaged. The box looked like it had been kicked around a floor ! Trying to liaise with Home Bargains has been AWFUL. I have only ever received automated responses, the first telling me I would receive my goods by the 24 Feb 2024 - I placed the order on 2.12.24!!. I have emailed constantly and sent pictures of the damage, and still received nothing. I cant take the goods instore as I have no proof of purchase or invoice. I cannot give these items as gifts as they are too damaged. I either need a refund so I can purchase goods elsewhere or receive the replacement items and it is now the 17 December - disgraceful.
Ordered item on 10/12. No updates just email receipt. Received message late on 16/12 to say it will be dispatched. 17/12 still received our heard nothing. Now I'm completing Money Claims On line for court action to receive refund.
HB cancelled my order on 12/12/25 still awaiting refund on 16/12/25 Update - now showing a refund on 14/12/25 - thank you
Best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. I purchased 15 pairs of Christmas pjs for the family but was one pair short and I called three local stores Chelmsford Romford and Chadwell heath. All three staff that answered the phone went onto shop floor to check stock and were all so helpful offering advice of how to get the final pair. I called Chadwell heath store as advised and third time lucky they held them in the warehouse until I could get to the store. I must say all staff I spoke to in store and on the phone were so helpful and friendly which nowadays isnt always the case… I went in John Lewis Chelmsford and tested their customer service by asking if they had a product and was literally told I don’t know have a look over there! Such a different experience. I must also say that when shopping in the different home bargain stores noticed how fully stocked they were each morning and how well presented all the Christmas stock looked! Santas little helpers must have been working through the night to get the store ready for us shoppers! Fantastic experience overall. Will definitely be using these stores more regularly.
Don't order online if you can help it. This is the slowest delivery I've ever experienced. You'll risk late delivery if it's for something important. I allowed 3 weeks before the date I needed it and that was not long enough.
The Rochdale branch is one of the worst stores ever, badly run , incompetent staff who are rude and unhelpful. This company clearly has issues with staff and this clearly shows.

When i placed order, it stated 3-5 working days so I went ahead with my two orders. I contacted them when it was day 3 as I hadn't had a message from the courier to say the items were on the way. The response I received was it will probably take up to ten days. I needed my items by yesterday so I said I no longer wanted the items. They have completely ignored my request and now evri has my order. I had to pay two lots of postage for the items so I stand to lose £8 because they haven't cancelled as requested. I won't ever shop online with Home bargains again if I lose any money when I have told them I don't want the items. Very poor customer service
Bought 1500 Christmas lights. £29.99. Took out of box and the were a tangled mess. After 5 days still cant untangle, cant even find the end. Except where the plug is. Do not buy!
Would have given a minus 1 but it wouldn't let me. I ordered on the 08th December 2024 and it said 3-5 working days. Still not arrived so asked for progress update. Now been told because of backlog it's going to be 10 working days now due on the 20th December 2024. They were quick enough to take my money though. I didn't want to tell them I am disabled and needed the items due today, so had to source items elsewhere for overnight delivery. I wouldn't have known they weren't coming today if I hadn't contacted them. They say they only email when it's due to be delivered. I will never order online again. Customer service what customer service. There isn't any. I have lost confidence in them now. 😪
Online service is TERRIBLE! Made 2 orders 2 days appart..aparently the 2nd one is "on its way" the first one had "missing items" so aparently theyre sending the other things but its been a week with no updates, and customer service is non existent...
Would like to say a huge thankyou to Sam R at the Haddington store, and the lady on the till who without prompt went above and beyond to call him over after seeing I was struggling with an injured arm. Sam helped me without reservation, and went way beyond helping me to my car. I appreciate how hard retail staff work nowadays, often doing tyhe jobs of 3 people, and this is a busy store, so to be treated with such compassion and humanity was a rare thing in these times. I try to buy as much of my shopping as possible from Home bargains, as unlike most other shops you can deal with real human beings who don't throw your shopping at you and groan at you for not using their automated self checkout, oblivious and uncaring for your reasons why. Most injuries, disabilities and human struggles are not visible, and treating people with compassion and dignity is way more valuable to society than short term profits and targets. Keep up the great work Home Bargains Haddington, most of my friends have boycotted Aldis and Tesco locally in favour of your store wherever possible, particularly for the traditional shopping experience and independent/regional dairy and fresh produce. The Whitley, Reading branch has to have a mention. The staff overall are extremley helpful. Dylan the manager is brilliant. The cafe staff must have a mention as they are so welcoming, as they cope with an amazing amount of people on a day to day basis always happy to accomadate. But please why no music in there. We used to have music and a little bit of laughter it now seems dull. Please let's have some music and a little laughter in the cafe! Merry Christmas ! Great service.

I bought a pack of hotel pillows at my local store when first sleeping on them I thought how comfortable However... several day's later I had lower back pain an extremely bad neck Horrendous dizziness and nausea I thought it couldn't possibly be my pillows and sure enough after 6 days of extreme discomfort I returned to my soft pillows I am now back to my healthy self again You couldn't pay me to sleep on them again..
Dont bother with online ordering. Placed an order got confirmation and money taken. But no updates on contacting told no orders have appeared against mt e mail.so i have no goods and they have raken my money are home bargains e mails scams .willnever use again thieves.
