    To Halfords

    To Halfords I want to make a complaint I ordered a bike on Tuesday 29/04/25 order number 2228613897. I needed the bike built that day so selected that option, I left the page for a second and when I returned a more convenient location appeared saying I could collect today at Edge Lane Liverpool. I realized after I booked that this option does not include having the bike built. I called customer service straight away and said look it’s really urgent, can the bike please get built today. They said they’d pass on the message. I arrived at the store that evening and they were open for 2 more hours. The guy said he didn’t get the message but he can probably get it done today. I hung around the area for nearly 2 hours and returned, he said sorry I cannot build it today. (Okay fair enough it was my mistake online.) He said it can be done tomorrow. I was meant to be leaving Liverpool that night but he assured me it could. I stayed in Liverpool an extra night and returned the next day and the manager Fran said he didn’t receive the message from customer service and despite what the other employee said on Tuesday, it also can not be made today. I told him okey can it be built for tomorrow? He said yes, I thought about hanging around Liverpool an extra night, I said I might go and ask another bike store can they put it together for me but if I’m not back for it you can have it ready for tomorrow? He said ask the other bike shop and then call customer service and tell them I want it built for tomorrow. ( Why did I have to call customer service I already stated it was urgent and wanted it built) So an hour later I called customer service and asked please can my bike be built for tomorrow, Customer service put me on hold for a while and came back and told me they cannot get through to the store, do I want them to try again, I said yes, he puts me on hold again and gets back to me saying ‘good news your bike is ready to be picked up’ (but still in the box! Clearly not listening to me, not reading the previous interaction I had with customer service that wasn’t passed on or probably not even recorded) I said okay this is painful I’ll just cancel. I cancelled my order Wednesday afternoon and by Friday morning I still hadn’t received cancellation confirmation. I’m broke and walking miles every day. I wanted that Email for peace of mind. I called up Friday and said I still haven’t received my cancellation confirmation. customer service told me ‘Your cancellation hasn’t gone through but your bike has been built you can pick it up today’ I’m in Wales but the bike is still urgent, I said okay I’ll come today but can you please confirm with the store as I have to travel very far and I can’t afford any mistakes. They confirmed with the store it’s ready and I can pick it up today. So, I spent £10.50 on a taxi to the train station then paid £15.50 on a return train. 10 minutes before my train arrives and I receive an Email saying ‘YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN CANCELLED’ what a kick in the teeth I cannot afford to lose $26!!!! I couldn’t afford to buy the bike again. I'd have to wait for my refund which I received today. So, there’s a serious problem with your customer service, the first message did not get through, the guy at the store was wrong about fixing it the first day, the manager was wrong for weirdly getting me to call customer service when I told him to his face that I urgently need it. And the worst of it, the customer service not communicating to the correct person to not let the cancellation go through or at least finding out if it even can be stopped before I travelled a long way and spent money which I clearly explained. I also used words like urgent or emergency from the first call. I am now stuck in the countryside an hour walk from the nearest town. I want to buy a bike I do not like second hand, I don’t want to buy from Halfords there’s no way I’m buying from you unless you help me out here. I’m down $26 and called 4/5 times and hung around Liverpool for nothing. No one is communicating. no body cares.

    I needed a break light fitting, and with the whole casing having to come out I knew I'd have scraped knuckles. Adnan was very pleasant and conscientious and with his special gloves got me on the road asap.

    Helpful staff but inaccurate stock website

    Really helpful staff and chat team but their stock system was hopeless for me today. I ordered wiper blades, the order was cancelled with no reason supplied. I contacted their chat team. Very helpful and told me the stock is there. I reordered and was then called to let me know it was out of stock. The sales assistant agreed their stock isn't accurate. How much time is wasted doing this daily. Come on Halfords, sort your system out.

    BANBURY Halfords living up to there…

    BANBURY Halfords living up to there reputation as usual.nothing changed over the years.rip off merchants a money spin.awful customer service and car repair.lied about parts needed replacing and repairs.supposedly know what there doing a professional outfit,😂 cowboys is an insult to theses so called mechanics’s, said they’d fixed my air con leak.less than a year down the line. It doesn’t work used the cool air about 4 times,then making excuses about why its not working.had 2 different opinions down there and both were wrong and I wasted my money and wanted me to pay again to check it out for finding the fault, but have to pay for a air conditioner diagnostic check again,not free to resolve there mistakes,do yourself a favour,save yourself time and money and go somewhere else.to repair or service or anything regarding your vehicle..you have been warned.?

    Friendly and helpful

    Wanted to get help for my bicycle that had had a badly fitted chain from a previous visit to local King’s Lynn store. Despite no technical staff being available Megan was helpful in resolving the problem and was friendly and cheerful throughout. Thanks for the help

    Online order cancelled!

    Ordered storage boxes online for collection in Watford store. Showed at least 10 of each item in stock. Paid the money and then was left voicemail the following day saying they did not have the stock so my order was cancelled! What’s more when I went on the website again it was still allowing me to order some of the boxes showing stock available. Shan’t be renewing my club membership as what’s the point of getting discount if they won’t honour your orders!

    Very poor service for the MOT last time…

    Very poor service for the MOT last time the brakes failed and they just left it at that no help at all so I had to ring round and I had to move my car to another garage where they were willing to help me and put the new brake pads on for me,then I had to go back to Halfords to put it back through the MOT I'll never be going back to Halfords no more ever very disappointed

    Halfords Cycle2Work - Don't Trust!

    I placed the order with a confirmed collection date of Saturday, 26th April 2025. I went to the store on that day, but was told the bike was not ready. I was then informed that the bike would be ready on 1st May — but again, it was not available. On 7th May, I received a message saying the bike would finally be ready for collection. However, when I called the store to confirm, I was told that the bike doesn’t exist in their system. This situation has caused significant inconvenience, including multiple wasted journeys, transportation costs, and complete uncertainty about the status of my order. I have attached a screenshot from my order tracking showing that the bike was supposed to be built and ready for my chosen collection date, as well as my travel cost receipts as previously requested. Now I have a Cycle2Work voucher and no bike is available for that price range.

    Useless online ordering system

    Terrible experience when ordering the supply & install of a Dash Cam. Order cancelled by Halfords without reason. Spent hours on the phone and email trying to get the issue resolved and finally got an email confirming the order was reinstated (stock isdue I was told). When I went to the store at the agreed date / time, I was told the order had not been reinstated at store level. Waste of an afternoon booked off work. Never use Halfords again. Thoughourly disgusted.

    Wakefield Cycle Repair

    Great customer service by Dan in the Wakefield Cycle Repair area. Came in to get my sons bike repaired and he was brilliant. He had a great can-do attitude and was supportive and informative. Many thanks for the help and service.

    Failed on every sense.

    Failed on every sense. Used online mobile fitting, made payment 4 days ago A969B024782. Halfords informed me via email and text tyres being fitted today. Received call from Gary saying order is showing failed on his side??? Gary advised selected tyres not available, he could get another brand so went with that, then Gary said but won't be fitted today. In what world is this good business? Mobile fitting service that was pre booked but not mobile absolute joke

    Essentials rubber car mats - Avoid!!

    I bought 2 Essentials rubber car mats at £5 each on 27/2/25. They had a chemical kind of odour in the store and I assumed that it would fade in time. However there is still a strong odour from the rubber after 10 weeks of them hanging up in the garage to air. Can't put them in the car due to that. I even tried various cleaning solvents etc on them, but still the odour stays. Now in the bin as I didn't keep the receipt. Avoid rubber mats that smell in the store!

    Order has not arrived after multiple promises of delivery

    I ordered a car seat on 1st May with expected delivery on 3rd May, however the item still has not arrived and after many phone calls with customer service (who promised delivery on 8th May), no one is able to give me any definite information on this order. In fact, after promising me the item would arrive today, they also told me to “try to be positive” that the delivery would arrive despite me assuring them that DHL have not received my order (as per the tracking information). I am meant to be going away tomorrow but now can’t as I don’t have the car seat for my baby. Unfortunately, I am not in the position to pay for another car seat - I just want my order :( Maybe Halfords will pull through and give me a store voucher so I can buy a car seat in store first thing tomorrow whilst I’m waiting for the original order but I’m not too “positive” about it all. Which I could leave a better review but I feel really let down by it all.

    Walked out leaving £150 products behind

    So left my local store earlier today very frustrated. I have been set up on the motoring club, however when applying the wrong email address was entered. Therefore I cannot access my profile as don't receive any emails. No idea about offerers etc so completely pointless. I spoke to head office who said, they can't change email address 🤷and advised me to go into store and ask them to cancel my subscription and restart again however they couldn't because I would be paying twice . I was also told a number of times by the shop assistants, that the Halfords helpdesk was rubbish because they all speak Indian..tbh when I phoned them on both occasions they were clear and concise so I think more training is needed on discrimination and prejudice. I was then advised by a store assistant to change my actual email address to match the one on my profile 😆😆, the staff were talking to me with the help of their supervisor via a headset. I asked where this woman was so I can talk to here face to face as it was really frustrating, and I was told she was upstairs and too busy to talk to me. The store was fairly empty. Therefore I left all my potential purchases £150 worth on the counter and walked out, rang the help centre who couldn't apologise enough in their well spoken English with a slight Indian accent and asked them to cancel the whole thing, I really can't be arsed with the hassel. Don't complain to me when you are all made redundant because everyone is buying online... Make an effort guys!! Save retail!!! Readdress customer service training. If the supervisor had actually made the effort to talk to me or act like she cared, I would have been more compromising with the situation.

    Halfords Chatham incompetent blades fitted

    I have some weeks ago had all new wiper blades fitted to me VW Less than 12 weeks since fitted and charged fitment we noticed loose back wiper blade and squeaking we returned some days later to Halfords with a complaint to call to resolve nothing herd back from store Chatham branch And am at VW service centre informed me there is a part missing on fitment 😳I will be returning to Halfords they charged me for both occasions fitment front and rear We have not heard back from Halfords as of yet and now had more expense for the wipers to be fitted correctly
